Allegra is who you need to see here!! After moving cross country from the East Coast, arriving in Oakland, and coming to my first hair color appointment, I am delighted to give what should be a 10 star review to Allegra. Besides having an incredible personality, tremendous working knowledge, honesty & creativity, she made me look beautiful and I couldn’t be happier. I highly recommend booking with her and the salon!

Hannah did an amazing job with my hair! She was super knowledgeable about which style would look best with my hair type. She also gave me great tips on styling bangs and curly/wavy hair. So thankful and would highly recommend.

Love this salon!! I have gone to Lauren for years and her hair coloring skills are perfection! I know a lot of people who love the nail services too. Super affirming atmosphere that always feels welcoming and relaxing

I had been looking for years to find a nail salon that did sculpted hard gel nails so I could grow out my natural nails and also get amazing hand painted designs and I finally did! Melody and Lesley are expert at their craft and I recommend them to anyone that asks. Extreme attention to detail and fun conversation. Top tier service. I couldn't give them higher praise tbh, they're #1!!!

UPD: Wow. The way the owner replied to my review proves my point. You are thinking that my opinion is fake just because it's not 5 stars. Good luck with you business. Maybe this is a good hair salon, but definitely not the best nail bar. Limited color palette, rushed atmosphere, overpriced service for just a regular gel. Design options for the price are super limited. Would not be coming back.

I just visited Fig & Clover for the first time to see Lesley for my nails. I'm so excited to find a new thing to do to take better care of myself. I spent years having acrylics or Dip nails done and always was searching for someone with creative style and ideas for my nails. I just took a two year break and was needing some way to make my short nails look cute again. As a person who works with my hands- my nails have been looking rough. Lesley is amazing and knowledgeable and her nail art- which I'll try next time looks amazing. Check her out on Instagram at @minicanvas_nailgallery Before the service there's a short questionnaire that helps them provide us with better service. I love that this form asks for pronouns! So important. l The shop itself is very cozy and beautiful. You ring the bell to get in and are welcomed in to a super clean and inviting space. I love that they still ask folks to wear a mask- yes the pandemic part is over- but I really have no interest in picking up someone's sickness and being out of work right now. Anyway I love my nails. And I'll be back in a few weeks to keep my hands feeling and looking good.

Melody is the nail tech I’ve been searching for! I got my nails junked out with rhinestones, rose quarts and dangles and two weeks later they are still going strong. It is crazy how hard it is to find a clutch nail tech in Oakland but melody turns it tf out. So happy!!

I should have left a review years ago but I'm the queen of procrastination! I went to Lauren Corden when I moved to Oakland from SF, even though I liked my previous hairdresser, I couldn't justify the amount of time it took me to get there, so the search for a new hairdresser began. I was at the beginning of my natural curly hair journey (after straightening it for +10 years) so I was very worried I wouldn't find the right person, I was worried I wouldn't feel confident and pretty again by letting my natural hair be. Well, the stars aligned because Lauren was amazing and since that first haircut on 2016, I have been a loyal customer. She's got that magic ability of cutting your hair exactly the way you ask for but also giving you an amazing haircut when you don't know exactly what you want — in both cases, your hair looks stunning! I always look forward to my appointment with Lauren, not only my hair receives a big dose of TLC and I feel beautiful when I leave the salon, I also have a great time chatting with Lauren (and I'm an introvert) she's so much fun and interesting, she's truly an artist.~I'd also like to mention, when I started going to Fig & Clover it was in their previous location which was very cute and cozy, they moved to a new location down the street and Ari, the owner (who is also a hairdresser, is super nice and has gorgeous hair) did a great job at preserving the same cozy feels even with a bigger space (which is not easy to do).I've also had gel manicures by Melody and Sam and both are so gentle, creative and talented!

Although I would follow Jillian anywhere, I am so glad she is at Fig and Clover. For the best haircut experience of your life see you'll melt under her fingers as she washes your hair. You'll leave a rockstar, space alien, country music star, punk icon or 70's starlet of your dreams! Jillian is amazing with curly hair. Infact I always thought my curly hair was a bother until meeting Jilly. She fondles and fluffs my curls adoringly, not beating it into submission but dancing alongside what she's already doing. Jillian brings out my natural beauty. But back to Fig and Clover. THANK GODDESS they take my health seriously. I am grateful AF they ask people to wear masks. I am grateful they ask YOU to stay home if your sick. I'm grateful they stay home if they are sick. COVID times call for COVID measures and if you want to lick doorknobs on your own time, that's on you...fig and clover is here to harm reduce and I'm all for it! THANK YOU Fig and Clover...5 stars. Cant buy this experience on Amazon!

Just had my curly hair cut and styled by Allegra today and I couldn't love it more! Went straight into a coffee shop after and someone said "Wow your hair looks perfect!". If that's not the absolute best compliment to receive right after a haircut, I don't know what is! Thanks Allegra :)
