I've been a client at Express Strength for a little over a year and I am happy to report that I have experienced a significant improvement in my strength and knee related issues. Alexis is kind, patient, knowledgeable and clear. I always get an excellent workout and look forward to my time at her studio. If your physical therapy work is not keeping pace with your progress, please consider Alexis & Jack's studio! I admit I was dubious about using machine weights and fewer workouts but their method really works. Consistency is key and they are methodical and meticulous in their planning, attention and training.

Jack is an excellent trainer, coach & exercise practitioner- very knowledgeable, thorough, efficient etc.I could list more adjectives if you want. Just message me. I enjoy my workouts and this new training philosophy. I do find myself getting/feeling stronger and visible changes. If the schedules match and you can make it work, I would recommend anyone give it a try.

In the before times, I used to juggle my schedule so I could attend Alexis' fluid barre and mat pilates classes at various Oakland studios. Having a class of hers on my calendar ensured my week would have a bright spot of enjoyable movement in it.Then came Covid-19 and all the studios shut. (This was an especially poor time for me to discover that I'm not at all into virtual workouts.)Express Strength is a little different than the group fitness classes I've taken from her in the past but it plays to all of Alexis' strengths including her clear cues, energy-filled enthusiasm, and sound understanding of the body.Express Strength is a small studio filled with various machines and props. Here Alexis coaches me 1:1, according to my particular abilities and goals. I'm a month or so in, and it's a routine I can definitely see sticking with for the long term, and a time during the week I always look forward to.If your version of getting on with post-pandemic life requires a fitness jumpstart, I highly recommend Express Strength.
