I would like to share my experience with Elizabeth, who cut my hair. We had a conversation over the phone where I explained what I wanted, and I even showed her examples multiple times. I believed she understood the type of hairstyle I desired. Unfortunately, I am dissatisfied with how my hair was cut. There are numerous mistakes, including uneven sections at the back, some long strands, and uneven and excessively short layers on both sides. I had to provide instructions on how to cut my hair, which is disappointing. Moreover, I paid her $95 for the haircut and now I have to wait for my hair to grow out. It will take a long time to achieve an even look. Considering my experience, I do not recommend her services to anyone.

I made an appointment to get my roots touched up and a new haircut. I was quoted $75 for each. I was told that $75 for each was the starting point and that depending on the stylist I choose, it goes up from there. The next day I go in for my appointment and when I got there the stylist told me, "it's $75 for your cut & $95 for your color because your hair is thick & you need more color for your root touch up because you let it grow out a little more." I wish I was warned prior to the appointment that it was going to be a little more. It would've been nice if the front desk lady would've said,"it's $75 starting but can go up depending on the type of your hair & how much color you need." I understand how that works, just wish I was warned. When the stylist was done with my hair I loved it. I love the color because it matches close to my natural hair color. I loved the cut, I got long layers. I loved how light it felt. I left with shiny soft hair and felt like I was a movie star walking out of the salon! I think I'll definitely return here but only for color and once in a while have a new cut.

I went to Elizabeth H and had a great experience. They were friendly, professional, and I left very satisfied with my haircut. My hair is curly and can be challenging to cut; I have ended up with wings on the side of my head in the past. I will definitely continue to come back!Service: Haircut

I get my hair cut and colored at Elizabeth H and always leave loving my hair. Elizabeth does a wonderful job highlighting my hair and listens to any special requests. I have long and somewhat layered hair and I appreciate how she is able to maintain length, while also getting rid of split ends. If you are looking for a great highlight and cut this is the place to go!Services: Haircut

This was my first visit and my last. I asked for a chin length bob, long layers and side tapered bangs. Bobs are probably the most common haircut, having been around for decades. I first started getting a bob haircut with side tapered bangs in Dallas, TX years ago and was always very happy with my cut. Since moving to the Bay area 12 years ago, I have used 8 different stylists at various salons and not one (1) of them has been able to give me a bob haircut with side tapered bangs. Every haircut has left me disappointed and frustrated. Everyone I know has the same bad experience with stylists in the bay area; no one seems to have any creativity or skill with regards to cutting hair. I believe the only haircut the stylists in the bay area have the ability to give is a blunt cut, that looks horrible on anyone who is older than 20 with stick straight hair. I gave myself a better blunt cut during the pandemic than I got at Elizabeth H.

I have been a client for three years with Elizabeth. I had to find a new hairstylist after my old one retired. I spent a whole year getting my hair butchered and regrowing it trying to find someone who understood what my haircut needed. I found Elizabeth and she listened to me and worked with me to get the proper cut. She was very patient and after a few sessions, she created (and continues to) the perfect haircut for me. I get so many compliments on my hair and really appreciate her effort on giving me by best look. Thank you!

Come and see Susanne Adler ... you won’t be disappointed. She has been doing my hair for 3yrs and I have no regrets . She listens to exactly what you want , not her way but your way .

"Walk ins Welcome" sign outside yet the staff seemed super inconvenienced when I came in for a bang trim. The trim was crooked on either side and I had to re-trim when I got home. After the stylist finished, she told me I looked like an eight year old. Rude and unprofessional.

I’ve been coming to Elizabeth H since it opened in 2008 and getting my hair done by Elizabeth since before her salon opened. She does a great job with color (I’m a blonde) and wouldn’t trust anyone else to do my highlights. I have a busy work schedule and she’s always willing to accommodate and even comes in on her day off to do my hair. 5-star salon and staff, definitely recommend!

I've been having my hair done by Elizabeth for over 25 years and everyone constantly compliments me on the color and shine and gorgeous cut of my long hair. She makes me look ten years younger. I also love the look of the salon, the French blue, lighting and art is very stylish and sophisticated.

I have found at times the door to be locked, but all you do is knock. It's obvious it's for safety reasons. Customer service is great. The people at the desk are always very nice.

My 16 year old daughter and I just had a terrible experience here at Elizabeth H with the hair stylist, Kung Malecki and the Salon Manager, Carole Steinbrink. My daughter went in yesterday wanting about 3 inches trimmed from her long hair and some long layering to thin out her thick, wavy hair, as she doesn't like it to be so full and "puff out" as she says. She looked at 2 photos with Kung and they discussed it. Much to my daughter's dismay, she ended up with 8 inches taken off, with extensive, very short layering that doesn't even blend in well (some of it is above her ears and half way up her head) and the whole effect is to make her hair more wavy and sticking out. My daughter also said that she needed a "wash and hair hair style, which this is not. It is also not a "teen hairstyle" and makes her look 25 or 30 instead of 16. She is very upset and tearful. We have been clients at Elizabeth H. for about 4 years, but our usual stylist, Elaine, was not available. Elaine is fantastic. I had a similarly negative experience with the same stylist, Kung, about 1 year ago. I would have not allowed my daughter to see her, but my daughter was confused about the name when she made the appointment. I saw Kung when Elaine was away and she basically did the same thing to me. She didn't listen to what I said, and I even showed her a photo of me with the hair cut I wanted- which was just to shape and trim it again- the same way as in my picture. Instead she cut all of these strange layers that didn't blend in well and cut it much shorter than I wanted it. It took nearly 6 months for me to grow it out enough for Elaine to then "fix it". Both hair cuts by Kung were DISASTERS. When it happens once- you think, miscommunication, but when it happens twice in the same way- it is the stylist. I called today to complain to the Salon Manager, Carole Steinbrink, and she checked in with Kung and called me back. This is the first time I have ever made a complaint about a hair stylist in my life and the first yelp review I have ever written. Even though the manager was polite, she basically blamed my daughter, saying she knew she was going to get layers and it would be shorter. The manager even admitted that there was a massive amount of hair on the floor after my daughter's hair cut and I tried to explain that there is no way my daughter would have requested that cut. So, the manager believed the stylist and invalidated the customer's experience. I informed her that we would not be returning as customers to Elizabeth H. given this experience, but she didn't seem to care. I wasn't asking for a refund, just some acknowledgement and a request that the management give this stylist some feedback, but instead it was viewed as "our miscommunication". I would not trust my hair with this salon again and also did not feel valued or respected as a client. Karen O.
