For over 15 years, this spot has been my go-to for construction materials and lumber. The folks at the counter and out in the yard, familiar faces for years, all delivering good customer service. They handle special orders if they don't have the lumber in stock, and it's always a pleasure catching up with the crew on every trip for my remodeling business This place is the real deal.

I came to Economy Lumber looking for a small piece of plywood. The team here was super helpful, friendly and accommodating and got us just what we needed. Very happy with our experience and will be back for any future lumber needs!

Front desk folks are not that friendly. People that help in the lumber yard are really nice in comparison.Got some lumber here for a fence. Much better than the stuff you can find at the big box stores. Construction grade material can be wet as most of it is stored outside. So if it rained recently or freshly cut, might need to dry it out still.

Update: Because of my own incompetence at DIY, I had to go back and get more wood for my project. One of the guys was so patient trying to get me to understand how to use the mitre saw/box. Mark graciously agreed to do the cuts for me, saving me further humiliation and more wood purchases. These people are great.

Highly recommended. I had a great experience from buying some lumber recently. I visited on a Saturday and I got help right away to place my order. They delivered everything to my home the following Monday morning. And the price was even cheaper than what I would have paid at home depot (and then i would have to haul it myself).

The selection is awesome but I had a negative experience. I went early in the morning to buy wood for a project and the people at the front were kind enough to help me understand everything, but when it came to collecting the wood, they were out of it!They found one last piece for me but it was the scraps! They also worked really fast as looking for it and giving it to me so I felt like I couldn't tell them that my wood was warped. The wood was super warped but it was still sold to me. Part of it is on me but why would you sell me warped wood?The people cutting it were kind and patient with me, thank you for that. I'm not sure, everything gave me a bad vibe since I only bought 2 pieces of wood, but the people who work here are very helpful.

This place has gone WAY downhill. I had looked at the lumber I needed and it was clear that I would need to pick my pieces since the quality was spotty. I was told that if you want to select your pieces they charge $1 per piece. Since I was going to buy 80 pieces that would have been $80! They didn't pull this kind of thing in the past. The guy was pretty unpleasant about it too. And he said I wouldn't be able to return any bad pieces I got. Sheesh! I went to Larsen Lumber in San Leandro instead. Much better price, much better quality, and much better service!

Was trying to park in the Piedmont grocery parking lot. And a driver for your company was very aggressive toward us as we were trying to back into the spot. He yelled at us, rolled down his window and continued to yell while making hand gestures. Felt very uncomfortable.
