I really appreciate the manager, Wendy and the staff here. There was an issue I needed to take care of but had overlooked and instead of letting it go through all of the bureaucratic wheels until I got a letter in the mail too late, she called me. They are hyper efficient at this branch so I know she doesn't take her time to do just anything. I've never gotten that kind of service from the huge banks. When you're trusting them with your money, you should like your bank.

I have come to remit money so many times, whether in San Francisco or New York, this is the first time I am asked to fill in a remittance form. Since international remittances require a lot of information, in the past, the bank clerk just took a copy of the form and printed it out and signed it. Just you. This male clerk asked me to write an order. If I made a mistake, he asked me to write a new one. This is clearly making things difficult for others. With this kind of service attitude, I would rather go further away than come to this store again in the future.(I went to Huamei in Fremont to handle it the next day, and the clerk was much more friendly! They didn’t ask me to rewrite the international remittance form by hand. What a big difference!)

(Translated by Google) So many times in remittance, whether in San Francisco or New York, I was asked to fill out the remittance slip for the first time. Since there are more information to be filled out by international remittance, in the past, the staff members used the photocopying list to print the signature directly. The male staff member asked me to write a list. I wrote a wrong letter and asked me to rewrite one. It was a difficult person. This kind of service attitude would rather run a little further and would not come again.

This bank's location is prefect for Asians that only speak Chinese. I believe all the staff speak some dialect of Chinese. The staff are always a hit or missed. At times I get someone fantastic and sometimes I get someone that is not willing to help. Beware of the long lines here during the beginning of the month. It could be 30+ minutes wait. Actually I never left this bank under 20 minutes, even on slower days. Other options within 4 blocks are Wells Fargo, Bank of America and the other bank across the street that has been closed and reopened numerous times.

New job and my first paycheck! My direct deposit has not been set up yet, so I decided to just cash the check. The check was drawn at East West Bank. At first I was told they needed to make a call to see if the check was good. Huh? I said it's an East West check. Minor confusion, however the manager took command and explained they had to call my employer. The actual check was produced by the payroll company APT, not the bank. Fraudulent checks as such. As I recent victim of identity theft, I get it. A nice neighborhood branch. I might even open an account there!

In the olde days, this was Center Auto Parts' distribution warehouse. Bank of Canton started as a shack on Broadway & 9th. within a few years, Bank of Canton purchased the Center Auto Parts' building. UCB later acquired Bank of Canton, when UCB went insolvent due to bad real estate loans, East West Bank took it over. as East West had 3 branches in oakland's chinatown, they consolidated all branches into this location. there's always new faces here. is this a training center? tellers seem to disappear after a few months. worst time to come is the beginning of the month when the elderly come to cast their S.S. checks. mornings are the worst. after 2 or 3 is a better. parking is always an issue. re lack of rest rooms mentioned in a review: i have never found a bank anywhere that has rest rooms. it's not a requirement in any locale.
