I'm so in love with this community treasure. Run by dedicated volunteers, many of them former teachers or librarians, the staff are kind, helpful and knowledgable. They are recycling children's books throughout the community and world to the people that need them most, spreading a love of literacy and knowledge along the way. I'm full of gratitude to the people who make EBCBP work!

Hands down, THE best place to get free books for our young readers in pre-school and up to high school. They offer all types of genres, non-fictional, fictional, educational, popular, classics, hard cover, paperback, and picture books! The staff are super friendly and will be more than happy to help you find something interesting and/or have great suggestions for your young learners.

What an absolutely amazing resource. As a new teacher desperate to build my library of young children's books, I am thrilled I stumbled upon this magical place! It's located inside the lovely Recreation Center at Mosswood Park which offers an after school program that provides homework help, art classes, sports and more! The staff were kind and knowledgable and took the time to give me a small tour. I would love to help spread the word about this place! Thanks!

The selfish part of me doesn't want the word to get out. And that's a pretty big part. But something as amazing as this has to be shared (with all 4 of you who read my Yelpz). Besides, it never hurts to promote child literacy. The long and the short of it is they freely give away books to teachers, or anyone who works with kids (currently 50 books per visit). Current hours are T, Th from 3-6. Bring coins to park on the street. Walk in, sign in with your organization information and browse for as long as you like. Or until your meter runs out. The selection is pretty vast considering it's totally based on donations. The books are organized in row upon row of labeled boxes (chapter books, jr. high/high school, picture books, nonfiction, etc.). If you spend even just a couple of minutes flipping through, you'll find something that kids will love (or that you can sell them on!). It's no Borders or whatever, but then again, it's FREE. And my fellow teachers, you know there's no better four-letter F word than that. The books are sometimes new, otherwise pretty lightly used. The unselfish part of me (which is actually quite selfish still) wants word to get out so more people/organizations will support with donations (books, money....)
