Used this tax service for 10 years from 2011 onward. They were fine (Jim, the CPA was good) until ownership changed around 2018/19. The new owner (Hansson, EA not CPA) is exceptionally frustrating to communicate with, missed multiple agreed-on deadlines, and makes pretty serious clerical errors on tax returns (he actually admitted the errors in writing and offered to correct them but his corrections contained additional errors!; he then decided it was no longer worth his time to correct the errors). Probably the most unprofessional experience in memory; had to hire an expensive outside firm to correct everything. I hope nobody else has to go through this. I cannot recommend.

I used Mr. Thode for several years and was very satisfied. But after he did my 2021 return I had questions. we emailed back and forth for a few weeks. I kept reaching out to the company which held my annuity in an attempt to give Paul enough information for him to explain something and answer my question. Suddenly, in the midst of this process he stopped responding to my emails and phone messages. Essentially, he ghosted me! my tax preparer! I could understand it if he said I was taking too much of his time. But he ghosted me!

I worked with Hansson to file my 2020 tax return and I cannot recommend him. I spoke with him about getting help filing back in late February, but it took until late April for him to finish my return. He doesn't respect your time and is comfortable leaving work to the last minute - I had to email him more than once to prod him into moving forward with my return. What's worse, after two months to work on my return, he made a mistake and I was charged for more taxes on my income than I ought to have been - which wasn't noticed until AFTER I paid them and they filed my return. I sincerely regret using their services and wish I had filed by myself.

I'm honestly not trying to be a dick by writing this review but I also want to warn folks about using Dimond Tax Services. I got my taxes done for 3 years by Dimond Taxes. The first year had no issues but I just got audited for 2018 and will probably get audited for 2019 as well. Paul helped with the amendment for 2018, but insinuated that it was my fault as I didn't include all the information needed to complete 2018 taxes, hence the audit. He seems disorganized (lost my sister's taxes for about 30 minutes on a different occasion), so I'm not sure if I actually didn't include the forms or if he just lost them and/or should have realized documents were missing. Regardless, I took the amendment and original tax return to another CPA for a second look. She told me that the amendment was filled out incorrectly and that I'll probably have to submit a second amendment to correct the amendment errors. That was an additional $370 + the original filing + the $150 Paul wanted me to pay for the amendment + whatever I am going to have to pay for the second amendment once I hear back from the IRS. When I told him I wasn't going to pay $150 for the amendment he worked on as I didn't think it was my fault that the original was filed incorrectly, he told me to take my business elsewhere and closed the door in my face. I think this guy's shtick is to take on too many clients, cross his fingers that about 75% are filed correctly, and deal with the other 25% on the back end. Would not recommend.

Typically, I've done my taxes myself for many years. But after some changes in my circumstances, I wanted to make sure I wasn't leaving any money on the table. I called Paul and he told me to stop by. Working with him was super fast, super convenient, and super easy. I dropped my documentation off on the 14th and Paul had everything completed and ready to go by the next day. His prices were fair and I got some free investment tips to boot. I could not be happier and will be going to him every year from now on.

I've worked with Jim at Dimond Tax for the last few years but had the pleasure of working with Hansson this time who is new to the team. I couldn't be happier with the level of attention, support, and care. I knew I needed to work with tax preparers who would provide specialized care when I became a new homeowner a few years ago, and also went through a career transition, working many contracting gigs in between permanent jobs. I received consistently great advice from Jim and felt confident knowing that I was in competent hands. You won't go wrong working with Jim, Hansson, or Paul. These guys are great!

Paul is great, efficient and affordable. He's been helping me with my taxes for the past three years. He always tries to find ways to save me money...I trust him. Great lil spot in the diamond district and he works out of his home. He has other folks that help him too, but I always see him. I've recommended family and friends and they like too.

This is a yelp review for the tax accountant Paul. He may be a great accountant to others but he is VERY rude. I called wanting a consultation about filing taxes. As it's my first year having a small business it's not as straight forward as it is all the other years I've done taxes. I was still on the phone with him and somehow he was unable to hear me, but I can hear him just fine, and also heard him say to either his assistant or someone that I was rude! His exacts words, "I cant believe this! she was so rude, she just hung on on me before I can give her the address, I don't want to deal with that!" I stayed on the phone and listened and yelling hello into the phone to let him know that I can him! I called him back and told him to please remove me from the appointment as I just heard everything he just said. It's not my fault the phone line had issues! And also if someone calls asking for a consultation and have questions that mean they need help! And this is how he treats his customers!

Paul and co are super quick and efficient with taxes. We had to play catch up and they got everything done with a week to spare. Our taxes are a bit more complicated and they did a great job accommodating us. We will be using Dimond tax services for all our future tax returns.
