Outright rude staff, indifferent ownership. E-bike and service illiterate. Gave 2 stars bc when I first visited for a simple break adjustment they did the job, no problem! Second time it turned out I was in need of a complete front wheel rebuild from the manufacturer- something they could not accomplish in house. Rather than simply telling me this fact the college-aged service person said "go away, we don't work on bikes we didn't sell to you in the first place" Whaaaa?!? SUPER rude, all but spat in my face, basically said "f*** off" without saying F off. Unsure why. Felt vibes of discrimination (I'm an outwardly queer PoC) but couldn't say with any surety WHY the tech was such a jerk, though a jerk he most certainly was. Spoke with apathetic owner who was no help, offered ZERO compensation for my wasted time (him: "well what do you want me to do about it?") and for his employee basically sending me out to possible crash n injury. He emphatically agreed that the employee erred, offered his kind words and deepest apologies? Umm... okayyy. I didn't crash/die thankfully but the problem DID get much much worse over the next few weeks while I looked for a shop who would help me, as I HAD to keep using it to commute to work- SCARY! By the time I was able to secure another day off to get the issue addressed the whole thing had fallen apart and I actually had to purchase ANOTHER e-bike to get me through until the first bike could get fixed by a different shop! Wow! Added about a month of anxious rides and added cost, loss of revenue and wages for me. ALL of it could have been easily avoided! Thanks, Trek? NOW I go to pacific E bike. They fixed/informed me of issues RIGHT AWAY. The owner there told me exactly what I needed to do in order to have the problem addressed and did so THAT DAY, getting me safely back on the road asap. When/if he messes up he makes up for it by adjusting his services and costs- yknow, like a business. If you need a simple service, new helmet or a bike light or something you could patronize Trek I guess, but those who actually put miles on their e-bike (mine is 4K km and counting) please do yourself a favor and find a reliable e-bike shop that operates from a standpoint of service and SAFETY! Muy triste, no bueno

Trek Bicycle Oakland helped me change a tire in a pinch! My front tire on my cargo bike went flat just as it started to rain. Worse, I had my toddler with me. The shop helped me in less than 20 minutes for a very reasonable price. Great service.

10 out of 5 stars. Seriously, this specific bike shop is amazing! I had been researching and been to couple of bike shops and people here are so helpful and knowledgeable especially for someone getting into biking again/new like me. *JOSE* helped me so much today. He spent over 2 hours w/ me gearing up on the bike that I wanted and called for ahead of time. Work with me until bike was adjusted to my body/size. He helped me find a bunch of other accessories I was interested in purchasing and recommended a few things to me and also explained why one might be better suited than the other. Ryan helped with getting the cleats on my shoes once I chose the pair I was going to go with and had dine the sizing with Jose. I was going to buy bib and jersey on an online cycling website my brother recommended but end up buying at the store since Jose was just so patience and helpful + the discounts :) They are a wealth of knowledge. Too bad the bike shop is over an hour drive for me without traffic BUT I would do the drive and come back if I need anything else or questions. Was at the store yesterday. Would only mention letting/reminding customers know regarding parking situation b/c I got a parking ticket. Not familiar with Oakland/this area so. Thank you for your help & patience, JOSE!

Mostly I want to say that I miss Cyclesports! It's a shame that Trek is gobbling up local bike shops. These guys are kind of high-pressure, really want to sell you a bike. At first I got a good feeling from the staff, but in the process of going over the possibility of rehabing an old Trek 1220, it started to dawn on me that the gentleman helping me was aggressively steering me towards a new bike purchase. Maybe the pressure to make sales targets ( if that's what's happening) is greater than the desire to do what's right for the customer?

I have made three recent visits to this shop and I'm amazed by the level of care and attentiveness that the staff displays to their customers. As a customer, this makes me feel both welcomed and valued. The staff are very professional, courteous, knowledgeable and efficient. Yesterday evening I dropped off my bike here for service. To my surprise, Trek calls me first thing this morning to advise me that my bike was ready for pickup. How amazing! The Moral of this review is that my positive experiences here are the reason why I have decided to make Trek my new home bike shop. Special shout out to Ryan for the great customer service.

Ryan and the team went above and beyond helping me find the right bike and accessories. They are extremely knowledgeable and took the time to answer all my questions and address any concerns I had. I highly recommend them.

i'm not a reviews-person, but i really feel like it's my civic duty in this case. trek has not only been dishonest, they have compromised my safety, and for that reason alone i am letting my neighbors know what's up. during a recent tune-up, the trek mechanic revealed (unknowingly, i'm sure) that his colleague had installed regular brakes on my e-bike, not e-bike rated brakes, during a prior tune-up in the shop. so dangerous. they made the decision to save a few bucks in exchange for my safety. futhermore, i brought the same specialized e-bike in for an expensive tune-up, and somehow mysteriously the battery was "dead" when i got the bike back. trek claimed that they had no idea what happened, but also that (surprise) they could not help me fix it. did they expect me to buy a brand new trek bike to replace it? i found another shop (an authorized specialized dealer) who then helped me with a costly $900 repair. the other shop also re-did some work that i had just paid trek for, including a tire fix. i'm not sure what kind of corners you can cut with a tire fix, but whatever they are, trek did it. at the very least, i wouldn't recommend taking another brand of bike to this store for any reason, but really, patronizing a company with a questionable set of ethics like this just does nothing for our community. we deserve better.

I love this store - Ryan and company always offer the highest customer service, are incredibly knowledgeable about their products and never engage in high pressure sales; in fact, it's completely the opposite with them - they are so honest and always stand by their work. If something needs to be fixed, they will fix it, even if not asked by the customer, sometimes without charge. They take great pride in their craft and are so customer friendly that it is a pleasure to go there for service and sales. I have consistently had great experiences with Trek Oakland and will only go there in the future for my cycling needs.

I walked into Trek Bicycle on Grand Ave late July after calling and speaking with a Jose and asking if they could fit my bike with some different handlebars and a different seat as I wanted something to come more inward, and a seat that was a lot more comfortable. I was greeted by Jose say and I mentioned I had just called and spoke to him regarding the seat and handlebars. I waited a couple of minutes as he was finishing up with a customer. To be fair, it was about closing time so Jose walked me over to his workstation and said OK what I can do is I can send you a few pictures of different handlebars and seats but I think we were more focused on the handlebars. Jose then said he'd email me the next day. Next day comes, didn't hear from Jose. Another day comes and goes and still nothing from Jose. Three days go by and still nothing from Jose! So I decide to call Jose snd ask what's up??? Jose apologizes and said they got busy but he'll be sure to get back me by EOD or latest tomorrow. It's September 7th and I've yet to hear from Jose or trek bicycle. After a few more days, I decided to go a couple blocks down to Lakeview Bicycle on Grand and Charlie who is the owner actively listened to my concerns and immediately took inventory and said he give him about two hours and I can come back to pick up my bike! I showed a little early and it was exactly what I had asked for! Charlie under promised and OVER DELIVERED. Making sure to properly adjust my seat settings after asking me to take it for a test drive! This is the customer experience that we all should expect and we all should be given. Jose and Trek Bicycle- you have no lost a customer. I gave you the benefit of the doubt that folks get busy and therefore may let things slip, but that's not what happened here. This was a display of dismissiveness and what NOT TO DO and how not to treat customers. I cannot and will not accept these behaviors and as a result I will not give you my business. The silver lining is I'm kind of glad you showed me who you are because I would have never met Charlie at Lakeview Bicycle. Charlie is class personified and is the example of what s an exceptional customer experience looks like as Charlie's bicycle knowledge snd experience is impressive, and more importantly he says what he means and means what he says! Many thanks, Charlie at Lakeview Bicycles inside and Jose and Trek Bicycle...DO BETTER!

Shout out to Ryan and Daniel. Amazing customer service. Friendly, honest, helpful, knowledgeable, and super nice. My partner and I brought in our bikes after big fixes at REI in Berkeley. We both spent over $200 and there were still minor issues with our bikes. To be fair, the issue with my bike wasn't the fault of REI. And my partner's bike had a minor issue that could have been recognized with REI fix but wasn't. Ryan was able to quickly diagnose my handlebar issue. He ordered the part and installed it very fast without charging me for the labor. Daniel examined my partner's bike and fixed the clicking sound on her wheel. Again, no charge. This is how you do customer service. This is why we will bring in our other bikes and refer others to this shop. Thank you Ryan and Daniel!

Had a great experience first time there. Dropped my bike off for a tune up because I haven’t rode in a while and we went over what needs to be worked on. They seemed pretty busy but picked my bike up a week later and it felt really good to ride again. Had no issues. Great customer service and quality repair. Thanks

Formerly Cycle Sports, Trek Bicycle Oakland maintains a friendly environment that is welcoming to all bikers, regardless of experience or age. Their sales staff and techs are super friendly and knowledgeable. Every repair that I have had done there was completed with the utmost care and professionalism. I have had them do everything from dealing with disc brake rub to dealing with flat tubeless tires. They maintain a clean and orderly shop. When you walk in, people welcome you and immediately offer assistance. I highly recommend Trek Bicycle Oakland to meet all of your cycling needs.

The manager Ryan and all the staff are very responsive. They really took time over my bike to make sure it was in perfect shape and very clean. I was respected as a cyclist and treated in a friendly, really courteous manner. My bike is high end, and it was treated with the utmost care. These guys have my trust! They are running this store on Grand Ave., in Oakland, CA, in a really good way. My wife will be looking for an electric bike as she heads for age 80, and we will start the buying process with these guys. They are an asset to Trek. A+ definitely.
