“Sharif’s is my spot! And has been for as long as I’ve been living in West Oakland. My go to for my morning coffee, paper, drinks, fresh veggies and ice cream..and of course lil here-and-there’s like hot sauce, noodles, air freshener, TP, etc. Whole family who runs it are good folks, and they keep their store stocked and make sure they ask their customers what we need or would like to see them in keep in stock. They recently renovated/expanded the interior, and it looks awesome! Super spacious, more fridges, new slushy machines, and revamped fresh veggie section amongst other nice upgrades. Love these guys. Quintessential neighborhood corner market.”

“Every time I approach Three Rings Market, I pull out my mobile phone and open the Shazam application and press record so I can identify the obscure pop music these fellas are always playing at just below what most would consider an extreme volume, and coupled with the very bright lighting and the spiritual and emotional ambiance myself and my fellow customers bring to the table— it’s always an unforgettable sensory experience. The two employees (brothers? friends?) are lovely and always ask me how my wife is doing, even though I’m not married. Once I saw them both on the street riding Lime Scooters and I waved hi and they seemed confused. 5 stars”
“I came by to trade in my winning Lotto Scratcher ticket for more tickets. There was a constant flow of customers coming and going at this popular store. The cashier was quiet but efficient in taking care of my transaction.”
“For a corner store these guys have a good grasp of the preferred foods and brands people in the neighborhood want and they keep them well stocked. Prices are not unreasonable, they take EBT, and above all else are not just polite but actually friendly. They keep the place clean as well.”

“I was running around this area @ 4:30 pm on a Saturday, trying to find hong bao (Chinese red envelopes) for a wedding that evening. Most of the other stores I’d scouted on Yelp were closed already, but luckily I came across this gem. The main storefront looked closed, but there was still a small section on the right that was open. And out in the front were a bunch of red envelopes on display. I asked the gentleman and lady if they had any recommendation for wedding red envelopes, and if they particularly had any with the double happiness symbol (囍). The lady kindly pulled out a basket that had a bunch of them, and I was able to get just what I needed for the wedding. Many thanks to them for helping me out!”
“They went through a management change and let me tell you. OMG the prices are reasonable now, theirs no more bad Oder in the store, they have the best personalities, and most of all they ARE CLEAN. Not surprised that they are getting so much traffic.”

“A very clean, well lit liquor store with excellent selection and prices. However, there is a lot of convenience store items as well - plus some things that are just not found elsewhere, like multiple brands of TP in larger pack sizes! Family owned and operated. Clerks are always very polite and helpful if needed.”
“This place has a great location. It can be busy sometimes, so be prepared to follow the street markings for speedy access. The pumps are new and efficient. It is a nice, clean station.”

“This is definitely the better Whole Foods in Oakland. While the produce is good, I’d still prefer my local farmers market. For me where this store really shines is in the cheese case. Their selection of Jasper Hill Farms cheeses is reason enough to make this your go-to cheese monger. The cake case is enticing and lives up to its visual appeal. If you don’t have time to bake, their options still feel special. And say what you want about Amazon, but the integration for Prime members makes checking out super easy.”

The guys working there are nice, they’re stocked with so many random things I never expect them to have (but badly need!) and for prices that are always the same or cheaper than the grocery stores. love you both sides. “I had heard several recommendations about the burgers in this little market and they were right. The burger and fries I had today were excellent! All the food was fresh, fries were perfect and the service was friendly! I'll definitely make this my new burger spot. On a side note the mini market section has everything you might need on a moments notice, from snacks & ice cream to NyQuil and aspirin, although I didn't see dairy or bread items which is probably a smart thing since their 'expiration' dates are short,”

“A neighborhood convenience store that doesn't sell liquor is hard to come by in West Oakland--but then I found Cypress Grocery. It's clean. It's orderly. Their supply changes so it's not always the same stuff, but they have convenience store basics and anything you might need to last you the night/or take you through a picnic. Best of all, they don't make up all their stuff for convenience. They do also sell some smokes. Service is good. Feels wholesome and safe which is more than what most places here are like.”

“I had a very pleasant experience, ya well I guess u could some of the things that I read on here but honestly what I saw at first impressions in my eyes was a mutual respectable gathering at a business that had the cheapest gas in town. And I also want to thank u for the gentleman that pumped our gas for us and smiled.”
“I started taking my car here about 15 years ago. Now my adult children and even my ex husband all take their cars here because I rave about this place. Toan’s motto is “do good work and don’t cheat people” They’ve more than lived up to that motto. Toan always finds the most cost effective solution, e.g. a rebuilt transmission, and when an old lemon of a car was on it’s last legs, Toan told me not to spend anymore money repairing it. It “died” a month later. We were taking my son’s VW to a “specialist” in VW’s every month to fix the same issue. When we took it to Toan, we never had that issue again”
