He went above and beyond to take give me the best service iv had from an auto shop in a while. I will most definitely be a return customer and will recommend them to others.

Such great service & great work! I have been taking my vehicles to Alberto at Car Care Oakland for over 20 years with great satisfaction. I recently had to bring my vehicle in for major repairs. Alberto knew I was in a financial crunch, so offered several options in the way of repairs, depending on my budget. He also went over all of the particulars so I could understand all of the information in order to make a wise decision. He went over and above as far as repairing my steering column and the undercarriage parts that needed replacing. He kept the old parts and went over the whole process with me so I could understand. He also saved me money by making some very good decisions in how he did the repairs. My old 2005 SUV is actually driving smoother and feels like it has better suspension/steering then when it was brand new! It's also oh-so-comforting to know, especially as a woman, that I'm not going to get mansplained to at Car Care Oakland. I've also never been sold anything I don't need, and as well as doing great work, Alberto is empathetic and kind, which is VERY hard to find in a any business encounter.

Alberto is a hardworking, honest and able mechanic. I've not had a major job done at his shop yet, but would not hesitate to do so. The only reason I'm not giving five stars is because my dipstick was left in a safe spot, but, still, not in the dip stick hole. Hmmm. Non the less, I'm a fan.

I was referred here by a colleague. I came in to see if I could have a tired patched. Alberto informed me that it could not be patched due to where the screw was located in my tire. I requested to have him put on the spare tire. instead he decided to check and see if he had my size tire in stock, That's when I should have left and waited for a tow truck in order to have the spare put on. I was on my lunch hour which is only an hour and like an idiot I approved to have him replace the tire. Big mistake! Did he suggest that I purchase a set of tires like any repair shop would recommend? No. I went ahead and approved the work and I came back just before closing time to pick up my car. The next day I looked at my tires closer and I noticed that 3 of the hub caps, including the new tire, had gaps and they were all bent. I should have taken more photos. I spoke to Alberto and he claimed that they didn't touch any of the other hub caps. He suggested that I come back to take care of the one tire issue. I was not going to come back and waste my time. How did you not remove the hub caps if you said you rotated all of my tires? I know for a fact that you aren't supposed to move the hub caps around to different positions of the car. I also hand wash my car and hub caps so I know that my hub caps were not bent before bringing my car into your shop. I purchased a second tire to match the new one from my all time favorite tire shop America's Tire. This is why I wanted the tire to be patched in the first place in order to purchase a set. I only paid $127 at America's Tire and $180 at Car Care. Niiice right! I had America's Tire fix all of the issues with the spacing between the hub caps and tires. When I first pointed out the spacing to the gentleman helping me, he immediately could see how far in the stem was. If I hadn't of noticed, this eventually could have ended up being a hazard for me or someone else on the freeway.I feel that I was taken advantage of because I am a female and the job was done in a hurry.

Alberto took care of my Mini Cooper. He took the time to explain what was going on, and offered great advice/reassurance when it came time to make a decision.

i rarely put comment but compelled me this time.. the owner Alberto lied and conned $600 out from me... left car for 2 days to fix loud thudding noise..instead he misguided me and asked me to fix engine mount which was not the reason for the problem..Agreed to him and left the car for 2 days.. ..paid $600 & picked up car the third day but loud thudding noise was not gone and that noise was still there...Took car back to shop again the next day.. frustated and unhappy.. but he tells me it was just the first step to fix the noise as there were too many other noises. but this time he finally gives out the real cause that engine may be misfiring now he says he will charge second diagnostic fee $150 to just find which engine is misfiring. He was hoping to con another $400-500 from me. I was not ready to get conned again and took to another mechanic 10 minutes away who was very honest.. he says Usually solution for misfiring is either change spark plug or change ignition coil for that particular cylinder. he charged me only $50 total to diagnose and repair it and said the issue was engine misfiring and told me to go to autozone get no.1 cylinder ignition coil($ 50) . the replacement work itself took only 5 minutes, 15 minutes in autozone, diagnostic time 15 minutes and cost me $100. Please Do not trust this guy unless you want to get conned.

A very dishonest owner. I brought my car to their shop to replace the battery. After they replaced the battery and the Engine light is on. He denied that is his fault that he messed up something, and he charged me $98 just to check the system. The next day, I brought my car to the other shop to check the system. The report show that something blowout during installation the battery. A very very very dishonest owner. Never go again.

Never go again.

I have been there 2 times, one to help diagnose a noise and the last one to fix a specific issue with my door lock. Both times the service, timeliness and pricing have been extremely good. No drama, no fuss, they get the job done right the first time. Highly recommend Alberto and this place.
