Such great staff! Parking is tough, but typical for Oakland. Small store packed with temptations for artists. We'll curated gift and card selection up front as well

I got some art framed here after a long process of reviewing materials and options. Without my consent the framer changed the materials to a lesser quality material and also never disclosed it. Once I had the art home I noticed the frames looked cheap and came back to store. The process of trying to correct this mistake has been chaotic. Do not get anything framed here.

Great place to buy Montana spray paint for a decent price, especially the hardcore cans. The staff is extremely friendly and super helpful which if I'm being honest isn't always the case for let's say the SF market St location. But having said that, I am deeply grateful for the above and beyond customer service I always receive at this location. There's a bounty of amazing art supplies for any kind of projects and they even have an awesome kids selection.

It seems they changed the store layout since I was here last a year ago or so. It's much improved, things are placed a bit more logically. Still has great overall selection.

Great art store, always a sale going on here!Knowledgeable young friendly staff, sometimes inventory is a little low, but not low enough to be an inconvenience.Don't park in the back, it's tiny and hard to maneuver, you'd have better luck parking nearby on the street.

Came into Blick over here in Oakland and got some paint for my pottery and have the intention of painting them to match each other. Bought four cans of paint that were black marble impression and got through one pottery. The next one I couldn’t because three cans stopped working. I took it back to the store and all they did was give me refund for two of the cans because one of the other cans was not completely full, the manager at the time(sunday. 10/1/2023@345pm. ) could have made a better decision but at least she was very professional and too courteous for me to get irate. This sucks.

I don't know what that last customer was on about but I think Blick does a good job taking care of me. all the workers there are team players and resourceful and I got a good deal recently on some cans they had on clearance. It's a small spot but it has a real local feel to it. none of that corperate stuff

I love a good art store as they are very nostalgic for me. This one is exceptional. They have an amazing selection (I found something I've not been able to find at three other stores) that is reasonably priced. My sister was thrilled to find some fancy office supplies she has only seen at one random art store in Humboldt. The staff were friendly, although the manager (I assume) seemed to be annoyed that the register system had frozen. He didn't greet or acknowledge any customers and loudly explained to the cashier what she did wrong to cause the frozen register. I understand being frustrated, but this was a bit off-putting. I stick with 5 stars because places like these are getting harder to find, and I want them to be around forever.
