This place was dope. Right next to Venganza. I connected with the owner Getachew (sorry if I misspelled your name) who was very knowledgeable about his products located from all across Africa. A cool guy and I'll be back to check the store out again when I have more time and when I'm not waiting for an order.

So glad they're still here. They sell mostly Ethiopian gifts but also african items in general. Genet has been here for years and she also does travel agent work. They have nice shirts, jewelry and other items.

My niece has a multicultural day at her school coming up. We were looking for a traditional Kemis-- a dress that is worn by Ethiopian women. The moment we walked in to the store the owner greeted us with love. She was extremely helpful and found the perfect dress for my niece. The color, size, and style was exactly what we wanted. This beautiful shop has a wide range of African dresses that come in all different prints and colors. It was such a special experience for me to share with my niece it was a little piece of Africa right in Oakland. I'm very grateful for small business such as this one. The love flows through it and the owner is very kind and helpful. Anytime I need something related to my Ethiopian culture I now know exactly where to go.

I love this store. The owner is such a Beautiful Blessed Person. I could hug her all day. And her husband is such a wise soul. He share so much knowledge. Not only is a place for shopping with reasonable prices it's a place to just come in and feel at home an talk and feel comfort. Thank you so much Albo family. Me and my fiance went to Albo African Gift Shop to try to find items for an upcoming engagement shot we have. I have a specific African dress with bold fabric that Im trying to match and was hoping to find a shirt that might compliment it well. Although I was not able to find a shirt that worked, I was very impressed with their customer service and their willingness to help me find options. They seemed to search high and low for a shirt that might match my dress, and looked through their inventory multiple times to make sure they did not overlook anything. When all was said and done, they gave me suggestions on kinds of shirts I could find elsewhere that might work. I decided to buy other times like shampoo and conditioner while there since they were so accommodating. I would definitely go back to support their business because it seems like they care about their customers.

Stellar service! They have cute face masks--some with matching bonnets or headscarves--waving as you drive past so I doubled back to make a purchase. Promptly greeted with a smile and warm welcome! I sorted through many beautiful patterns and settled on two masks and a bonnet/mask set. As I'm inside paying I notice waist beads on the wall behind the register. I make another purchase and the woman graciously asks if I'd like help putting them on or if I'll take them home to do myself. I needed the help, haha! She helps me fit both strands, and there's a good amount leftover so while I'm peeking around I notice a third item I want to buy--a kids' track jacket for my 3yr old niece in kente pattern. I've obviously felt at home here by now--another customer comes in to pay for 3 masks so I wait and look around some more (one waist bead strand is on and the other is still being tied and cut). My turn again, and this amazing woman says to put my foot up on a stool and she fits me for an anklet with the remaining bead threads. Absolutely recommend! Will shop here again! Thank you so very much!
