I made a reservation online. At the counter, I gave my Puerto Rican license and the lady asks me for my passport. I had to explain to her that Puerto Rico is part of the United States and that I fly with just my license. She rolled her eyes at me, spent 10min looking something up on the computer (probably confirming that PR is in fact a U.S. territory) and then proceeded to cancel my reservation because "they had no cars available". She didn't even ask for my reservation number. First time I felt discriminated while being in California…

My pick up was at nine thirty from a flight at the oakland airport.
Shuttle Service to the rent a car building was a short wait to front door service.
The process for renting the car was quick and easy.
The staff was in a great mood laughing and very polite while handling business.
It was a pleasure to see them in such a great mood at that late hour.
Alamo was great!
I would most definitely rent with alamo again.

The WHOLE staff with Alamo (Oakland Airport Location) where very kind and professional. Even with other people where rude while I was getting my rental; they NEVER lost their cool.

Rental Scam/Fraud, or sheer incompetence?
Rented a vehicle on Saturday, August 3rd from this location and the agent working with me charged me (2) deposits of $400 + (2) pre-fill tanks of gasoline, then proceeded to claim it was not her fault before admitting they were using a "new payment system".
She then proceeded to try and charge 3rd deposit and pre-fill tank of gas!
After speaking to her manager Devon she swore that they would cancel ALL of the extra charges and then charged me for another pre-fill tank of gasoline.
All the pending charges are now stuck on my credit card and today Capital One explained they will not fall off for 5 business days, (my ENTIRE TRIP) so thanks to Alamo I am paying all expenses out of pocket until I can get reimbursed later.
Was this really just an incompetent mistake, or does this regularly happen at Oakland?

Terrible experience. We were traveling with two young kids, an infant and a toddler. We had reserved 2 carseats for them. When we arrived, there wasn't an infant carseat and everything else was broken (obviously broken: no latch system, covers ripped off with exposed plastic). Every employee we spoke to said that even though we had reserved and paid extra for the seats, there was no way that they could see that on their end...if this is a recurring problem, they need to address it. I legally cannot drive off the lot without this. Some seats were brought from another location (still not the right size for an infant). More than an hour after checking in, we left, with both kids crying and our baby riding in something hazardous. I will never travel without my own carseats again, and I will never rent from Alamo.

Alamo didn't hold my reservation, which I made through Southwest the night before. They said "oh Southwest doesn't know what they're doing". Trying to get to my mom in hospice, so I didn't have time to dispute, had to go through another company (twice the price). Terrible terrible terrible.

Flew in to OAK 07/5/2024 @ approx: 12:00pm on a holiday weekend with a reservation and the agent at the counter was nothing but a angel. Helped me effortlessly at the counter. I was paying with debit card she explained everything to me and helped me change the vehicle i was initially going to get as well. Haven't had anyone with AMAZING customer service skills like that in quite some time. I hope this message gets to the correct people and she gets her, her recognition.
