Why this business has a tuff time to adjust to privide a better customer service?
Ever since my first contact with this company, low IQ, unfriendly, lossy personnel have come my way.
I prefer not to mention names at this time, but rating of 3.6 speaks volumes to a striving company.
They are the most rigid, behind technology time in greatest denial and dissatisfaction customer service one could find nowadays.
Totally out of touch, imposing and inflicting harm and displeasure. They think since they have a contract with the city and have a monopoly in ISP, it will make them immune from lawsuits and FCC rules and regulations.
A very cheap approach and egotestical employees is the cause of customers to give this company 3.6 ratings.
Do they really care? Why should they? As long as they can nickel and dime us, keep ignorant of the reality of service and customer satisfaction, they'll survive another day.
That is the motto they strive by. Portating being good by donation to this and that hardly counts for customer satisfaction.
How benign a company can be?
Expect nothing but more ignorance and avoidance to these ratings.

This ISP is horrid, and the monopoly they hold here will never change. Neither will the 50 year old equipment that's still being used. In fact, no matter what rural area you live in, you will experience the horrors that these ISP's provide to their small communities. It's very simple, want better internet? Move to one of the cesspool of cities that surround your town. Or buy some boujie internet from elon musk that will never show up. Sad, but you get what you get, and the fit you throw won't mean S***. No matter what happens in this world one thing is for certain. "They will never care about you, only your money."~venting

I don't know whats worst since the discovery of the Internet either broadband or the Flintstones. At least the Flintstones had no "choice" but to use primitive ways. Sierra Tel is right up there with them. They are the worst of the worst. If i can go 10 notches below that i would. Bad customer service and empty promises. Meanwhile we as residents in Coarsegold have to deal with them because they have the market up here and are UNwilling to upgrade their infanstructure. As an IT Network Admin for many years, i have never seen this type of crappy service in my life except when broadband came along in the 80's. If you have the time and paitence to wait 30 seconds for a webpage to finally show up, then this company is for you. I use UnWired located in Fresno. A little more but they are lightennig fast as promised unlike sierra tell.

Had an issue with my Wi-Fi and was told I had wait thru the weekend to get the issue resolved. 3 words…. I have teenagers!!!Not happy with SierraTel AT ALL!!!!

I used to have good internet from Sierra Telephone. These days there are constant problems with dropouts (interrupted movies and videos).A year ago I could watch movies without stoppage. These days, during peak usage hours, there are constant stoppages. I've called service several times. They are responsive but the same problems repeat.15 yrs ago, I had few problems with the internet. Today, I question whether or not the internet is more trouble than it's worth. I have 12Mbps bandwidth and that should be enough to maintain my usage. So it's not a bandwidth issue.

They have been fantastic! Getting hi-speed internet, and a landline phone installed today, and we are excited. EVERY Employee has been helpful, polite, and fun to talk to. 6 stars if we could give it.

Customer service is better than average, and enthusiastic. They should be, given their monopoly. Watch out for upselling - see the tech who makes the service call before paying more than expected.
