This was my first and most likely not last vehicle purchased from Novato Toyota. Our sales associate Richard was very helpful and thorough. My wife and I had been looking for a Rav4 Prime for quite awhile now and were even on a waiting list after placing a deposit at another Toyota dealership. While surfing Novato Toyota's website I came across the exact build we had been looking for and within 24 hours I drove home with our New Rav4 Prime XSE in Blueprint. This place has gone downhill. Took my car here for an oil change, wheel alignment for new tires, and to drain and refill automatic height adjustment fluid that they told me was due at 60k mile service. They charged me $250 for the synthetic oil change and filter because it was a package that included tire rotation (tires were brand new, didn't need rotating) and a bunch of other services I didn't need. I said I only wanted the oil and filter change, and they said sorry, you have to pay for the whole package. When they call me 5 hours later (they knew I was waiting for the car and at vintage oaks across the street) they gave me a Bs excuse that they couldn't perform the wheel alignment and also did not know how to drain and refill the height adjusting fluid. It took them 5 hours for an oil change and they forgot to call me when the car was ready because my service rep was on a break at around 3pm. All this after they told me to call a few days in advance to order the fluid so that they have it ready to install when I get there. To top it off, one of their younger employees scraped another customer's truck on the side of the garage and caused a ton of damage right in front of me. This place used to be the best Toyota service shop in Marin. Not anymore. Do not visit this establishment.

I purchased a car about three months ago and have put $6000 into repairs. I believe toyota was not honest in the inspection they did. They said they changed the oil and when I brought it to my mechanic after driving it 3000miles he told me it needed an oil change...I asked the person who sold the car to me what about the battery..was told it was good..got stuck in Oregon and had to get a new battery. The car wasn't even clean ! I don't believe they are honest and my family will never do business with them again. BEWARE!

I just have to say this was the best experience i've ever had with a car dealership period. I bought a vehicle from them, and there was a little mishap when they were pulling the vehicle up for me to drive away with. They were very attentive and took care of the situation immediately. I have to say hats off to Mike and chris and the rest of the crew. From the beginning, they were warm, welcoming attentive not overbearand not pushy. I would five-stars recommend this place if you're looking for a vehicle. Thank you, Novato toyota marin, for being the staple of how a car dealership should operate

I'm qualified to review the service at Novato Toyota because I'm old and have pedigree as a decades-long service consultant and trainer.After two extremely marginal experiences at another local dealership for the servicing of my Corolla Hatchback, I gave Novato a try and am more than pleased. The front-of-house service crew is mature and communicative both with me and several other customers as I eavesdropped while waiting for my service to be completed. Personable and clear, both on the telephone an in person, I almost felt like I wasn't in a dealership at all!In the past few years, I've noticed that these type of jobs have been pushed down to less service-savvy types - something clearly not evident here.They will see me frequently, the extra drive well worth it.

I had a great experience at Novato Toyota. My service manager, Bob Carpenter is great. He is smart, knowledgable, courteous, and went the extra mile to help me. Won't take my Toyota anywhere else.

Courteous people. Easy buying process. Nice car at a fair price. I felt good about the deal ...until I got home and did a bit of checking. Turns out that they shortchanged me on my exceptionally immaculate trade-in...allowing a full $2000 less than the KBB mid-range trade-in valuation. In fact- they gave me $1000 below the BOTTOM of the KBB trade-in range! Heck- even their OWN website's "What's your trade in worth? feature shows this! Yet, when they presented that trade in offer to me, I told them that it seemed too low and they looked me right in the eye and said that it WAS the fair KBB value- which was TOTALLY disingenuous. I just checked KBB again to make sure. Oh well- stupid, trusting me.....and bad karma for them. Do your homework before you visit this dealer .Anyway- I'll be going elsewhere when I trade in my 2018 Sequoia Platinum for an all-new 2023 Sequoia this summer...I've been waiting years for it to be released!

My service manager, Ken Brog is personally and professionally the reason I am a decades long customer at Novato Toyota. He is effective and efficient, looks for ways to schedule services that are safety focused and financially flexible. When my daughter bought a used Toyota in Hawaii for college, he personally showed her how to monitor basic maintenance procedures while he was on vacation there with his family! I wanted to give a shout out to Robin in Service and the employee's (not sure their of names) that worked on my Uncle's handed down 1998 Toyota Tacoma. My Uncle Chris was a very important person to me and left me his truck. I was only going to take this project to the dealer. It sat for about 4 years an was in need of quite a few major repairs. Robin in service assisted me with the project, she was was simply great. It took a few weeks and $8,400 to get parts and get it going, runs great right now. Robin communicated with me regularly and never tried to oversell me on things, she gave me suggestions of potential issues that could arise if they weren't completed during the service. so I had them do everything they could and I am glad the dealership completed the work for me. They have the right tools, work on these things all day, and the truck is alive. Robin, thank you and please extend my thanks to the mechanics that helped me. I'll come back to this dealership for any and all future repairs.

I decided to take my car in for a standard service. I'd been taking my car to them for some time and the car was running just fine, no issues, but it needed an oil change and it was due for a service. Over $900 later I picked up my car and noticed a different sound to it,...didn't think too much of it but it got louder and the response and pick-up of the car was getting slower. then the tire light went on, So, I called and asked them if they could take a look close to another $500 dollars later the noise was gone. I didn't opt for the extra $300 quoted to fix a faulty tire sensor. Have you ever got that feeling that something wasn't quite right about a business? You would like to be able to trust a repair place to make your car better, not worse. I think they screwed up the service that caused the noise. I think when they rotated the tires they screwed up the sensor. I don't think they were willing to admit it. Like everyone who takes their cars in for service, you need to have confidence in the quality of work, and that your car will be fixed. At this point, from my experience, I cannot say that about Novato Toyota Service. To sum up, can't recommend them and won't go back.

"Buyer Beware". I purchased my 2022 Toyota Tacoma Limited with the Night Shade Package in Dec of 2021 from Hugh their sales. I have been talking to Hugh there about a new 2023 Toyota Rav 4 plug in Hybrid. Either the high end model or the Prime. We had not test driven one yet. This week he told me that they were expecting a RAV 4 prime red with black trim in this week sometime between Friday the 28th and Monday the 31st. Friday January 28th at 4:21 PM he sent this message below. Bruce, As per our conversation, please sign, scan, and email to
[email protected] along with a Credit Card number including billing address, expiration date, and the 3 digit code on the back. We will email you a receipt for the $5000 deposit. Thank you, Hugh at Novato Toyota. At 8:43 AM I received the text message below from Hugh their Salesman. Good Morning Bruce, The RAV4 Prime XSE has arrived. Thank you, Hugh at Novato Toyota A few minutes later he called me and said since the car came in they could no longer accept my deposit and if I wanted to come down now If it was available I could buy it but they could no longer accept our deposit and could not guarantee it would be there. when I got there. I called and spoke to Randy Lakritz the owner. He said since it arrived they could not accept my deposit and to go there now (I live 45 minutes from there) if I wanted it. No exceptions and it did not mater to him that his Salesman did not inform me that if the car comes in before he receives the deposit that he can not accept it. I told him if he held it until Sunday morning I would be down to test drive and purchase. He said it did not matter what Hugh said he would not stand behind his employee. In case Novato Toyota does not know we have been in the worst pandemic in modern history. Sometimes making an exception keeps customers. I would have been his second sake in 13 months. What a shame coming from the owner. Proceed with caution. I would have posted a Hal's star but it was not available.

Excellent experience for car service, the staff is all really friendly and kind, they go above and beyond for their guests. I was assisted by Bob, he was very helpful. They also provide rides if you choose not to wait there. Totally recommend.

I had the best customer service experience I have ever had at a car dealership. Had my truck in for some maintenance work and Jason in the service department was excellent. Explained everything, called back when he said he would and car was ready when he said it would be.
