I have nothing but great things to say about my experience with Maggie. She takes a holistic approach and truly cares about her patients. I’ve been suffering from chronic back muscle spasms related to lifelong exercise and she’s been able to provide relief using multiple modalities. I would recommend her without reservation. I have been seeing Maggie Shao for regular acupuncture treatments for almost 2 years. She is very personable, professional, kind, and thorough. Her acupuncture practice is conveniently located. The office is very simply and elegantly decorated. It is quiet, peaceful and relaxing in the waiting area. She always runs on time. The individual treatment rooms are large. The treatment tables are comfortable and big enough for tall people. She very thoughtfully arranges the table to suit your needs and those of your individualized treatment. Maggie takes the time to work out an individual treatment plan for each visit and charts all progress. In addition, and most important of all, the treatments work. I wholeheartedly recommend her without reservation.

Maggie has been extremely influential in my wellbeing. I've had debilitating, chronic sciatic pain off and on for the past two years. Not only did Maggie help me out of a pain cycle that lasted four months, her diverse therapeutic modalities (i.e., electromagnetic stimulation, cupping, heat therapy) have kept me out of pain and feeling stronger than I have in a long time. In addition, she genuinely cares about my progress and caters her treatment plan to my needs. As someone who was beginning to accept debilitating pain as my new normal, I am incredibly grateful to have sought Maggie's services. She has helped lift a physical and mental weight from my shoulders.

Maggie is a very talented acupuncturist! She specializes in women's health and was the perfect person for me to see when I was trying to get pregnant. I think she did help me get pregnant AND helped me to have a healthy pregnancy. I gave birth to my first child who is happy and healthy, and I am positive Maggie's magic touch had a lot to do with it! She listened to me very well and always took my concerns very seriously. I always looked forward to my visits because it was so clear to me how much Maggie cared about me and my health. It was very refreshing to have appointments with her when the medical world can sometimes feel so fast-paced and impersonal. Thank you, Maggie!!!

Maggie is a has amazing healing skills. Though I've been seeing her for more than a year off and on, my last visit gave me such clear relief from my hip pain, that i felt compelled to leave a review for her. She has always made me feel better, but this time it was so apparent that her skill level is far above the norm. She pays close attention to what you have to say. She is compassionate and caring. The office is a calm and relaxing space

I cannot recommend Maggie highly enough. She gave me much needed relief from acute sciatica symptoms and also incorporated my feedback into treating some more chronic conditions because she is a great listener. Her kindness and compassion are evident as soon as you meet her, and as she delves into treating your ailments, the depth of her skills, knowledge, and competence also becomes readily apparent. She is funny and down-to-earth while also being gentle and thorough in her approach. I love how she incorporates her command of Chinese medicine and herbs into her acupuncture practice. She also provides great Qigong classes that are wonderful to have in our community. I look forward to continued treatments with her!

I've been 4 times now and each time I leave I feel about 100% better. She has worked on a pinched nerve and then a horrible strained lower back. Both times I felt relief within a day. It also gives me a chance during my busy week to force me to relax and focus on just me and away from work or kids. I've been to a couple Acupuncturists and Maggie by far has been the best.

Maggie deserves more stars than just five. Specifically, she deserves one for the warm, friendly way in which she always greets me; one for the warm, comfortable room where she sees me; one for the way she always wants to talk before beginning her treatment; one for the way she always explains what she is doing and why she is doing it; one for her gentle, healing hands; one for the mysterious way I typically fall asleep after she inserts her needles and steps out of the room; and one for the time she spends with me after she removes the needles. Maggie is not only an acupuncturist, but she is a psychologist, philosopher, environmentalist, historian, biologist, lover of literature, world traveler and all-round wonderful person with whom you will love spending time. I spend an hour each way commuting from the East Bay to meet with Maggie and I would gladly drive even farther just to experience the relief she has provided my ailing body.
