I really dislike having to leave a bad review for a charity that goes towards a good cause but my experience with this store wasted a lot of my time, gas and energy. My husband and I were at the store on a Weds. I noticed something in the window I was interested in purchasing. I was given a price and told it would be available when they opened on Friday on a first come first served basis. My husband also heard Friday. So I got up super early to drive 60 miles one way and stood in front of the store for 2 hours to ensure I would get the item. When a salesperson opened the door I said I would like such and such item and I was told oh sorry it's not this week, it's next week. I told them how far I had come and how long I had been waiting and that I was told "Friday" not next Friday. Nobody cared because "People might get mad" and "someone did that before and was almost fired". My understanding is that this store is staffed by volunteers so I am not sure how they could be "fired" but OK. More training is in order and how hard is it to post a BIG sign in the window showing the date the display items will be available? A friend that lives in the area said the same thing happened to her so this seems to be a pattern. Not OK to waste time and my car takes premium-I am absolutely disgusted

What a wonderful place to not only shop but to donate as well! This is a delightful store filled with lots of treasure. Cassie who is the assistant manager has been super helpful and really nice. The whole staff is great! I recently had a neighborhood garage sale and brought some of the unsold items to them to resell. It's a wonderful organization and a great way to not only repurpose items but to also and more importantly to give back to the community. I cannot say enough nice things about them. Stop by! You'll be glad you did! Donate to them. You'll be glad you did!

Nice little shop, but am baffled by the complete inflexibility of no sales from items displayed in the window. The window displays are changed every 2 weeks. I had 2 out of town guests who were interested in a couple of Asian vases in the window. We were informed, very rudely, that the windows were just changed the day before and items would not be available for 2 weeks. I can understand if it was an elaborate display, but a couple of small vases!? We even offered to find something in the shop to replace them. These ladies were shopping, and had made multiple purchases from the very nice people at the antique shop next store. In spite of the poor treatment, they purchased several items, and would have purchased at least 2 of the vases. When we went next door to pick up the bags full of our purchases, they so kindly held for us while we went to lunch- we heard a man complaining about how rudely he was treated at Hodgepodge. The ridiculously rigid policy was bad enough, but the volunteer's attitude was insulting. We worked at a very nice non profit consignment store, and the purpose was to make money for our charities.

Always love coming into this store. My daughter who is 11 loves this store as well. Staff are always friendly and the best finds each time we go. Prices are fair. We live in San Rafael but that store parking is very difficult and prices seem to be a lot higher. Latest find are pictured :)

This place was really great. Everyone was helpful and nice. Even asked if I needed help carrying my items to the car. I honestly don't know what's up with the bad reviews. The prices were very reasonable. The quality was good. I'll definitely be returning. I got a large serving dish for $3 bucks and a glass cake plate with lid for $10 bucks.

Want to interact with rude, cranky and mean old ladies? This is the place for you. Nice selection (overpriced) of items but the women who work here are not interested in helping the customers, rather they only want to gossip amongst themselves. Will never come here again.

Well organized store. Clean, great finds. Wish they were also open on Sundays. Easy street parking across from Mi Pueblo which is a local favorite for lunch or dinner.

nice things are donated by the community, but its the STAFF that makes shopping here a drag. They treat you like a potential thief from the moment you walk in the door. Its a hostile environment to shop in. I feel that MOST thrift stores have forgotten that they received all these items for FREEEEEEEE. It's nice to find little treasures to buy as you search through the items for sale, but NOT when you feel like someone is watching over your shoulder all the time. I've been here many many times and this is what the environment feels like ALWAYS. Your staff needs to treat customers like they ARE valued customers and NOT thieves!
