Discovered a nail in the rear tire of our VW SUV on a Sunday. Needed the tire replaced ASAP as we were heading out on vacation the next morning. Hamilton's Automotive Shop #1 didn't have the same brand of tire we wanted but talked us through comparable models, gave us a terrific rate (very competitive) and had the job done within two hours. We just moved here and stopped in to get a smog check done so we can register our car here. When we dropped off the car they said it would be awhile for them to get to it. We left the car with them and asked if they could change the oil while they have it. When we went to pick up the car they charged us $198 for an oil change and smog. The girl at the counter just kept saying that this is the price this is what the computer calculated. It’s a ford that takes 5.5qts of oil and a spin on filter, I know there is nothing special that makes an oil change so expensive on this. I was hoping to find an honest shop to be able to do work on my cars. I’ll have to keep looking for another garage to do the repairs on my vehicles.

Stopped in for a smog check and when I arrived I had a nail in one tire. The staff was professional and friendly and the service was great. They patched the tire and the smog check was the fastest ever. Highly recommend.

I brought my 2009 Mini Cooper in for a Water pump to be replaced last May.I had replaced the other sections of the coolant system a year prior. I had no issues just wanted to replace the pump, noticed some seepage for the pump but that was all, not leaking much, just a few drips sometimes. When I picked up my car and started it in the shop all the coolant surged out, the mechanic said there is another leak from another section of the coolant system. If a pressure test was actually performed this would have been identified. I paid for that additional repair. A few days later I drove the car to San Jose and when I got to my destination my coolant was completely empty. The lower coolant hose wasn't fastened properly. I spent a whole day getting towed back to Novato. That problem was supposedly fixed free of charge. Once I got my car back it was only driven for about 30miles and I experienced the same problem but from a different location in the system,All my coolant leaked out making it un-Drivable. I've been waiting on a call back to address and fix this issue. At this point I am so frustrated and just want a proper repair. I have receipt and proof of mileage. This shouldn't have happened,so much wasted time has been spent on this repair.

Came in for a smog check and it was quick, easy, and affordable. The guy who helped me out was really nice and helpful too. Would certainly recommend them for a smog check and I’ll be using them in the future.

These guys are awesome ?. You can always get a live person on the phone to discuss your car! After many weeks of being put off by Genuine motors repair in Novato, it was really refreshing to deal with Brian at Hamilton's he was on it right away telling me exactly what I wanted to here. I would never take my vehicle to Genuine even though they were referred by another garage. It was clear after several weeks that the owners just never returned calls and kept telling me they would schedule me next week. Brian made room for me immediately and went out of his way to help me. I will use Hamilton's for all of our cars from now on.Services: General repairs & maintenance
