Recently moving to the area with my new puppy, I was in search of a reliable veterinary service and decided on Bel Marin Animal Hospital due to its convenience. After three visits, primarily for vaccinations and general wellness exams, my experiences have compelled me to share some concerns.
Firstly, there’s a noticeable emphasis on upselling at the hospital, with wellness plans and additional services frequently pushed, overshadowing the essential care and well-being of pets. This sales-focused approach was unexpected and took precedence over what I believed to be more critical discussions about my puppy’s health.
A particularly unprofessional moment that stands out was during a conversation about neutering. The technician, whose role surprisingly leaned more towards sales than care, referred to my puppy’s testicles as “balls” ? This choice of words struck me as inappropriate and unprofessional, especially in a medical context where I expected a certain level of professionalism.
Moreover, the wellness check-ups felt superficial. It was disappointing that I had to specifically request the presence of a doctor to have my concerns addressed. Before that, the technician dominated the conversation with pitches for services that seemed secondary to my immediate needs and questions about my pet’s health.
While the location of Bel Marin Animal Hospital is convenient, and the potential for a trustworthy vet-patient relationship was something I looked forward to, the focus on upselling and certain unprofessional behaviors have led me to reconsider whether this is the right place for my pet’s care.
For those in search of a vet where your pet’s well-being truly comes first, and where interactions are both professional and focused on genuine care, it might be worth exploring other options.

I was new to the area so I checked out a few different vets....Bel Marin Animal Hospital has been my favorite. The staff is kind, friendly, thoughtful, on time, and efficient. I can usually get an appointment when I need one, and if the products are too expensive for me, the staff has helped provide some ways I can cut down on costs/fewer products. And....my dog likes everyone here! :) Great Staff!!! Thank you, Bel Marin Animal Hospital.

Please avoid this place my dog had in appointment last week,and there was another dod in the clinic with pavo they should let me know and take rhe precautions now my dog has parvo and hes dying so please avoid this place

Fantastic experience taking our newly adopted pup Riley in for her first checkup. We live in Oakland but were having such a hard time finding any vets that could see her within 6-8 weeks and we were worried she had an infection. The team, especially Amber, were so friendly and helpful. They shared our options without pressuring us. Riley loved everyone!
