I love this Novato branch of Bank of Marin, and have hope that they will continue to retain their high ground and never give way to the crass, exploitive norms of so many larger banks and corporations. They have unfailingly given informed, intelligent, thorough service, and the people there have been exceptionally, and unfailingly, courteous and friendly. Members of their staff have taken the time to thoroughly explain important money matters. Service has been efficient, and timely. Our older son was completely charmed by this bank on a visit here from the U.K., as he sat with Cindy Ponce to open accounts with Bank of Marin after closing out accounts with Wells-Fargo. What a contrast Ms. Ponce's professionalism and friendliness were against his experience with Wells Fargo which had caused him gross inconvenience because of a forgotten pin number no matter what identification and documentation he provided them --- to the point of themselves being suspect as offensive and untrustworthy. In this era in which many corporations and businesses, and home improvement contractors, and utility companies, have gone to the dogs (gone to the wolf pack), by such money madness to the point of wrongfully exploiting (and even defrauding) their patrons, Bank of Marin stands out as exemplary in its fair, considerate, professional treatment of its patrons and employees. As a friend once said, "SOMEONE has to set an example!"

I have been banking here now for about 10 years, both privately and for my business. I used to bank at Washington Mutual (now Chase) but didn't like the big bank attitude. The service at Bank of Marin is really personal and good. I've dealt a lot with Irene Palmear who is great. I like the feel of a small bank and the personalized service. However, I don't like the fact that there has been a lot of changing of personnel the last couple of years. A couple of the new gals are really not that friendly.

The worse bank ever, the manager is trying to be nice and helpful but the staff!?!? OMG, they tell you anything to make it look good, but then when you come back to get what they promised, it looks completely different. I will never be their customer.

This review is for Bank of Marin as a whole (The Company),It is not for this particular branch. For Bank of Marin, Activating or reporting lost debit and credit cards is the worst system I have seen. I have just received my new debit card after waiting of 1 1/2 weeks for it, and come to find out that the Pin number they have given me is invalid. Now I have to go back into a physical branch on a weekday, Go through the hassle of ordering another pin (since they can not reset it at the counter). This is just one of the few issues I think this company really lacks in. Other competitor Banks, You are able to login to there website with your account, Report Lost or Stolen Debt/credit, enter a couple things, and they send you a new card, and close the other one. All this in maybe 5 minutes, or less and you don't have to deal with sitting on the phone for 30 minutes waiting for an operator to answer. Your also able to reset your pin via a website with out physically going into the branch and waiting a couple days before they send you a new pin. Bank of Marin strives itself on customer service, and using the latest technology to provide to customers, however they overlook the easiest things to fix. A simple function on there website, would eliminate there cost for the operators for there credit and debit cards, Eliminate customers having to take time off to come in on a weekday just to get there PIN reset, and ect.....

Horrible service. Trying to get an employee to explain where a line item is coming from on a closing statement and she got angry at me for not understanding her explanation. She told me to "TRY AND UNDERSTAND WHAT SHE'S SAYING" while she just repeated the same unintelligible answer over and over.
