Took a Troy Built lawnmower for service last week. I had to call them because nobody was calling you back with my estimate on service. They said it should cost approximately $40(paid in advance) inspection fee . I called in today to see status of my lawn mower and was told that my lawn mower was going to cost $432 to repair(needs a new motor) .. I can practically buy a brand new lawn mower for that price. Come on people's I know things are tough out there but please try not ripping off the consumer, .****Update 10/13/2023. I took my lawnmower to another lawn-mowing service comp (Memos Lawn-mowing service in South Gate) for a 2nd opinion. He stated the motor needed a good cleaning and overhaul \ oil change and new spark plug, the service fee is $75.00. Much better pricing and honest service..****

Very helpful staff. Explained the differences between mowers, trimmers and blowers. Spent more money than I thought I would because they really knew their stuff and I just couldn't say no. I felt like a kid in a candy store. But, believe I got some good deals and know I got some quality items.

Like the saying goes…..”leave it in God’s Hands” but when it comes to repairs and PROFESSIONAL service for gardening tools…leave those in Alan’s hands……thank you so much for fixing my bosses “baby”….he was very satisfied with the quality of service and the price…..at Alan’s lawnmower &garden center….GOD is good!!!

It pains me to leave this review but I felt the need to let anyone who is thinking of taking a piece of equipment here for service know about my experience. I have a small inverter generator that had been sitting for a while and before leaving for a trip it seemed to idle somewhat erratically. I wanted to get it checked out to see if it was just me or if the carburetor had become clogged and dirty from sitting causing the issue. Decided to give this local independent business a try. I dropped it off on a Tuesday 4-18. Was told I would have an estimate/diagnosis probably by Friday. The weekend goes by no biggie I call the following Monday for a follow up. Was informed their techs just looked at it and confirmed the carb needed to be cleaned and the oil changed. I said ok no problem. Mind you their profile information on Yelp says most repairs have a 3 day turnaround time. 10 days now from dropoff on Friday 4-28 I still haven't heard anything so I stop by as I'm leaving for my trip and am informed the generator hasn't been worked on as the tech was sick and the timelog showed it was worked on for approximately 20 minutes. Would have been nice to have some communication to have options to take my generator somewhere else. I say ok fine just keep it here and get it fixed. I leave for my trip and come back the following Tuesday 5-2 and call the shop to find out the generator still hasn't been serviced. We are now talking over a week since the diagnosis and approval of repair. I decided to pickup the generator and clean the carb myself. I spoke to the manager Allen/Alan and expressed my concerns over the situation trying to just get an understanding of why a simple carburetor clean took so long. He explained that basically they are just very busy and turnaround time on a repair on a small unit like mine could take anywhere from a week to a week and half as they are loaded down with larger pieces of equipment. Ok Fine whatever I guess they're just not the shop for someone like me. Also of note I had just changed the oil before dropping off the unit so I question if their tech ever actually inspected it because if they had drained the oil it was very obvious it was brand new. I was willing to pay for that service along with the carb cleaning because I was pressed for time and needed my unit. I took the generator apart and cleaned the carb myself in about 3 hours time. Just disappointed in the lack of communication. If you need a small engine repaired if you're thinking of coming here just ask beforehand how long they expect it to take. But 2 weeks to have my unit sitting in their shop for a simple carburetor pull and clean seems way too long.

Diana was very helpful. She recommended a repair for my Craftsman pressure washer that got it fully operational. Super helpful as my sleeping toddler was with me. Great work and very professional shop!
