Experiencing homelessness is a harsh and unforgiving reality that no one should ever have to endure. It's a state of living that strips away the basic human rights and comforts most of us take for granted. Here is a review of being homeless, based on the experiences of many individuals who have faced this plight:Being homeless is a daily struggle for survival. It means lacking a stable shelter, a place to call home, and often, a sense of security. It's a constant battle against the elements, hunger, and the harsh judgment of society.Sleeping rough on the streets is not only physically uncomfortable but emotionally draining. The constant fear for your safety, exposure to the elements, and the uncertainty of where your next meal will come from can lead to a state of perpetual anxiety and stress. The lack of access to basic sanitation facilities, clean clothing, and regular showers takes a toll on one's dignity and self-esteem. It's easy to feel invisible, marginalized, and discarded by society.Inadequate healthcare and a higher risk of illness are the harsh realities of homelessness. Many homeless individuals struggle with chronic health conditions that go untreated, leading to a vicious cycle of worsening health. The absence of stable employment makes escaping homelessness a Herculean task. Without an address, it's challenging to apply for jobs, and without access to clean clothes and grooming, interviews become even more daunting. However, amidst this bleak review of homelessness, it's important to remember the resilience of those who endure it. Many homeless individuals display extraordinary strength and determination, relying on the support of shelters, charities, and compassionate individuals who offer a glimmer of hope.In an ideal world, no one should ever have to leave such a review because homelessness should not exist. It's a systemic issue that requires compassionate and comprehensive solutions, including affordable housing, accessible healthcare, and programs to address the root causes of homelessness. Until then, we must acknowledge the challenges faced by those who are homeless and work tirelessly to create a world where such reviews are a thing of the past.

The grounds are beautiful, clean and welcoming. The staff & volunteers, I've met, are professional & committed to the wellbeing of the families they serve. They are careful with their resoures, yet generous in providing for their client's needs. There is room for more hands on/ physical & financial support, but until then, they do miracles with what they have...

I first learned about the shelter when I volunteered and helped serve brunch to the guest on a Saturday morning. I got a chance to work alongside the staff and cook a hot meal. I was also able to sit down with the families and have breakfast with them. They were very grateful for the love and support the staff and the program itself had offered them. Fast forward a couple of years later, I am blessed to now be working here as part of the team that creates a space filled with hope and the love of God for all who walk through our doors. I am grateful for the generosity of the community and donors who generously share their time and finances to keep this program running. I am grateful to be working under such wonderful, God-fearing leadership who genuinely cares for the holistic well-being of the families who enter our program.
