Hidden away in an industrial back lot is a custom mattress business owned by a sweet couple who has been doing specialty custom mattresses for over 25 years. When you walk into their modest, cluttered office, you see pictures of them hanging on the walls from when they were young. It's a husband and wife team and let me tell ya: they're good at what they do! We bought a 19ft Scamp trailer that comes with a loft bed, shaped like a piece of bread. The mattress that came with it was hard as a brick! We tried mattress toppers and even had one custom made by an upholsterer nearby. Still too hard. We took our rig to them and they measured it and built us a beautiful soft and luxurious box spring mattress that fits our rig loft PERFECTLY. It was ready in a few days and the cost was reasonable. Felt like we were treated like Hollywood royalty.. if you are looking for an odd size mattress that is comfortable, go to Melvin!

Great shop. The quality of a high end custom mattress at the price of a commercial mattress store. Just purchased my second mattress! This is a mom and pop place run by a couple with many years in the business. They can make mattresses sized traditionally as well as custom sizes for boats and RVs.

I feel bad writing this review. The owner Rosa has tried to make me happy. If I was reviewing their effort to do right by me, they get 5 stars. The problem is their product is really bad. I ordered their innerspring mattress for a custom size bed frame. They got the measurements wrong twice. I had to have them remake the mattress multiple times (paying them additional money each time). I could feel the springs poking through the foam. Each version of their mattress was uncomfortable, and felt low quality. After 4 months of use, the innerspring was shot and squeaking. I don't think the owner has kept up with industry standards, because any entry level "Simmons, sealy, Serta" ect will provide a much better sleep. I had them remake the mattress using pocketed coils. It felt like sleeping on a beanbag filled with slinky's. I threw it away after two sleepless nights. $2,000 down the drain. I ordered a 6in latex foam roll off the internet and have finally got good sleep and not waking up in pain.

I'm so glad I found Melvin Custom Mattress! I can NOT sleep on any memory foam mattress, and that's all that's on the market today so I need the services of a custom manufacturer. With Melvin I can customize my mattress to any configuration or need. They have all the materials and knowledge you need to get the job done. I've had them make a new mattress and box spring for my son's twin, a new mattress for us and a new mattress for our vintage travel trailer. They will be making my Mother's new bed as well. AND they also reupholstered our MCM couch for a reasonable price! I plan on going back for all our future upholstery projects. Melvin Custom Mattresses has been a real blessing, with lovely, honest people. I just wish I had found them sooner.
