Not the cheapest place to buy art supplies except when they have a sale. That's when you will see me around making purchases of some crafting and drawing supplies.

Unbelievable how rude Jaden is at Joann's in Porter ranch. Unwilling to help, and for one item she was literally sending me to another store, Lowe's, when it was not even a Lowe's item. After that I was getting a spray paint, Jaden came, unlocked the cabinet and I thought she was going to hand me the spray. I reached out for her to hand me the spray and she said "Don't you touch me girl!" With a major attitude, Instead of telling me 'we'll save this for u at the front register'. 1, I did not know they had to save it for me at the front and 2 I did not even com close to touching her. What an accusation!! I put out my hand so she could hand me the spray because I didn't know they were going to save it at the front. When I asked to speak to a manager, it turned out Jaden is a manager. Talk about service. It's awful. A manager should know they have jobs because of the customers. Unprofessional, extremely rude, unwilling to help the customers.

I don't really go to JOANN much, but my experience here was pretty good. This store is giant on the inside, and even though it is very well organized, there is so many things it can be a bit difficult to find what you're looking for so don't be afraid to ask! The workers here were very nice and helped me find the paint I needed within a couple minutes. They seemed to have really great deals on everything. Keep in mind this area is pretty busy on the weekends, so parking may be hard since there are 20 other stores, and the line in JOANN might be a bit long. I believe they are dog friendly, I didn't see any signs saying they weren't.

The Sherman Oaks store is filthy. The escalators are filled with dust and particulate matter and none of the employees are cleaning it up. It may be a health hazard.

Where do I start! As you walk in the door, the lone cashier on your left is almost always stacked with a line of 30 people, and I begin to seriously question if any other employees actually work at this place. Even though smoke is pouring from my ears waiting for 25 minutes to checkout in line with a $2.37 bottle of acrylic paint and ignoring the absolute garbage they put on the shelving along the checkout lane, I also begin to question my own sanity for patronizing a store that does not give a rats ass about their customers. Granted, most of the customers milling about smell like they came out of a marijuana smoke shop after hitting a bong for 6 hours...totally chill and not caring if they actually find their items, and definitely not caring that nobody works there. These cats sell odd crafts under blue tents at weird festivals, so go figure. Or 90 year old ladies picking up yarn supplies to knit a blanket for their 19 year old cat on dialysis and I'm thinking maybe I walked into a vortex and time traveled back into a 1970's bread line and vodka line Russia...with empty or half-filled shelves, lifeless meandering employees and gates locking up all the stuff you actually need and would buy if there was an employee available to unlock it. But that one employee with the frosted tipped hair ignoring the yells from pissed off customers walks quickly into the back employee room to avoid doing actual work and leaving that poor lady up front to bare the burden of lines of infuriated customers that needed a locked up $2.99 graphite pencil, but alas, Joann's does not care. Hell, I don't even care. At this point I'm starting to daydream in line about going next door to Walmart, buying an axe, and chopping the supplies out of the cabinets myself instead of pressing a fake button for service and standing there like dumb ass for 20 minutes. There ain't nobody coming....ever. Maybe I should pick up a rope too, to lasso that bastard with the frosted tipped hair ignoring the cries of several customers and now almost in a flat out run to get his carcass in the back room to escape doing actual work. I know this sounds amusing, but its not. I go to therapy due to this store. I'd send them a bill for it, but there's probably nobody there to open the envelope.

Looking for a specific yarn it's like a needle in a haystack. Their stock NEVER matches what it's supposed to be.

Went in the store for the first time today, Looking for cardboard boxes. I found the boxes and went up to pay. MANAGER Mona took the boxes out of my hand said I could not buy them and walked away. I calmly and professionally walked toward her and explained it is rude and bad customer service to take something from someone’s hand. I looked for another box I can actually purchase. This review could have been avoided if maybe I was led to the correct boxes that were available for purchase instead of taking them from my hand and walking away

If they had the option for zero stars i would rate this place zero stars. Employees are rude not even helpful, they do everything with rudeness. Save your time and shop instead at the Joann at Glendale employees there are more helpful than Northridge. Northridge should take the time to train there employees better and provide better customer service.
