“What a sweet book store! I happened to walk by and couldn’t resist getting a couple of books for my kids. The ladies working the store at the time were very sweet, friendly, and helpful. Parking is always tricky along Ventura, but this little place is definitely worth the effort.”

6316 CA-27 Suite 2180, Woodland Hills“I wandered through the mall as usual to discover this amazing used bookstore on the second floor. I had no idea they'd moved in! I'm so excited to have found them. They have a great selection. Lots of leatherbound books, paperbacks, as well as fun collectibles. Great place.”
“Clean, well-lighted bookstore. Pricey, but not overly so. Most hardcovers are $14 while paperbacks range from $3 to $7. As such, some deals are to be had, especially for academic press hardcovers. Very good selection of history books in particular. Parking in the rear. The owner seems to be the only employee: sweet man, given to self-depricating and grandfatherly jokes; chaty but endearing.”
“Always ready to help you staff. Cozy atmosphere. And not too much people inside the store. But I don't know about weekend, always visit this place on weekdays”
“As a woman of God, they are one of my favorite places to visit and search for what we occupy because my husband is a lover of reading and almost every time we go we find what we are looking for, such as dictionaries, books for our predictions and much more. I recommend them.”
“Attended an open mic night and had a great time listening to everyone that went up and shared. The night ended with a little impromptu dance party with a band that played and set up at the end of the night”
“Beautiful, well-stocked bookstore.
Lots of nice gift ideas.
There are also many places to relax and read, as well as a Starbucks in the middle of the bookstore.”
“Used to buy books here all the time when I volunteered at the old Rising Lotus. Still have really interesting out of print books on TV history... We live in Burbank and don't really venture out to Sherman Oaks that much these days. I randomly looked it up and soooo glad to see they're still open and running.”
“More than a book/gift store. I will love House of David forever! It's been a place of precious memories for me for many years. We've moved out of state, and I still miss Phillip and Avram, may his name be a blessing forever?”
“The shamash on my electric hanukkiah spontaneously shorted, so I needed to figure out if it required a rewire or if I just needed a new bulb.Yehi oh %$.My Mama suggested that I go to Shalom House (where she'd purchased it for me) and ask them for help. Hanukkiot aren't cheap, so I figured I would start with asking for help before replacing the whole thing.I walked in and while I don't think David, the owner, remembered me exactly (and to be fair, it'd probably been about 15 years since I'd last been in) he definitely knew who my mom was when I described her. We've been Shalom House customers for probably close to 30 years, so that's a lot of Mama's shopping.I showed David the issue, and he very matter-of-factly pointed out that the plug actually had two fuses in it. We took out the fried fuse, and suddenly the hanukkiah lit up. We were still without a shamash though, so he looked at me and said "You don't really want to buy a whole set of replacement bulbs, do you? You just need the one and it doesn't have to match? Give me a minute".He came back with a bulb which he then proceeded to screw into the center and it worked perfectly. I thanked him profusely and asked how much I owed him. He smiled, shook his head, and told me me "Happy Hanukkah. Now go light a hanukkiah".Mensches, the lot of them. And that, my friends, is why we adore this place.”
“Excellent material for children, we use Club Adventure and Generaciones de Gracia, we use it in our church in Surquillo, Lima, Peru, Iglesia Bíblica Gracia Soberana. Thank you, beloved brothers, for such hard work that blesses the church of our Lord.”
“This is one of my favorite metaphysical shops in Los Angeles. They don't have a great variety of tarot decks or Oracle cards but outside of that you could find so many goodies. The prices are very reasonable. The workers Aren't too sociable, but they're not mean either. My favorite psychic greeter is Allorah. She will get you the clarity and answers you need.”

“As we all know due to this pandemic we were not allowed to go inside. But we did have the opportunity to place an order online and pick it up ones we received a second confirmation email that it was ready. Upon arrival you call the student store and they bring you your order to your car. The wait time is very short approximately 5 minutes.”

6477 Van Nuys Blvd, Van Nuys“after visiting many libraries throughout Los Angeles area, i was very excited! and happy to be able to be a regular customer at this store. I come to this store maybe 2-3 times a week and never leave empty handed. If they don't have what i am looking for, they usually have it shipped to the store within few days. How cool is that? REYNA is very polite and always happy to help out :) thumbs up for this store!”
“The best in LA. Always find something good in the theater. Very relaxing and I can feel free to do what I need to do without judgment. Sure, maybe someone is watching, but I like that part.”

“This store has everything you need. The staff are friendly and courteous. It even has a seating area where you can relax and have a cold drink inside where it's nice and cool. Their Brahma cafe is great also with a variety of foods and drinks. Candy is so friendly and eager to help the students and school staff in finding their every need. She is a hard-working manager and always has a great smile to greet the customers.”
“Great place to learn new information and the environment was beautiful with fun, friendly, and very educational leaderships. We visited for the 2024 Matadors Day with my soon to be CSUN Freshman daughter”
