Wooden Nickel is a great rental house for your film shoots, especially if you are a student. They have great prices, great customer service and reply quick. They make the process of renting out easy. Definitely recommend.

Old lighting guys, if youre stepping in to make the magic then you probably know this is the standard in cool guys hooking you up with rad deals on awesome lights that rule. If youre fresh from film school and dont like getting dirty then you may get freaked out. But if you, like me, are a workin man in Hollywoodland then you must keep these guys close and connected as all things good come from here.

This is an actual posting for his $22/hr project manager position on a Facebook group currently (which are poverty rates in LA. It should be Atleast 125k a year) “When not needed for urgent customer rentals, the associate will be working directly with the owner, Bryan Godwin, you will be taught minor repairs that will progress to sophisticated repairs. You will assist Mr. Godwin with sales of new and used equipment by helping with displays and pictures of the equipment to sell. You will be helping Mr. Godwin with menial duties, so he does not have to spend the time doing them and he can do things that move the business forward. The applicant must be a hard worker and someone who always wants to be busy. The employee must recognize what needs to be done and get it done fast and efficiently. We are only interested in a Shooting Star. A Ruby. A Sparkler. Be warned Mr. Godwin is not an easy person to work for and hard to please. I truly don't know how anybody could have a real issue with wooden nickel. For the most part they are some of the most communicative and helpful people I've ever had the pleasure of renting from. Some people will say that the gear is messed up or used or whatever additional excuse they want to throw in there but if you hit them up because a stand doesn't open up all the way they'll replace it, if a light doesn't turn on they'll replace it and or fix it, these people try to really help however they can. They are some of them least expensive rental houses in LA and you know you're not going to get some sort of sketchy vibe from them. I've been renting from them for years and will continue to run from them because to be frank, I think they're top notch and trust is something very hard to get from an equipment rental agency.

Wooden Nickel is one of my go to places to rent equipment.The staff is very fast friendly and knowledgable.I recently worked with Wooden Nickel on a production project and they were very easy to work with as always. We had a large order and then I followed up with a smaller order. Both orders were seamless and were ready to pick up in no time at all.The rental forms are straight forward and I was able to complete them remotely in about five minutes.I really cant say enough great things about this place. always a pleasure to deal with

After renting once and I didn’t want to write a review. Because I didn’t want to rate them based on one experience. Recently I’ve rented from them again and everything went as smooth as a first time. Their prices are reasonable and consumer service is top notch.Totally recommended.
