Do not. Do not. Do not take your dog to this place. Unprofessional, they will upsell you. What is usually a 110 dollar blood test they charge 500 dollars. They are liars. When I called to do an appointment for a checkup I asked if everything went well with my dog when was the next available day I could back for surgery, the lady told me Friday and we agreed. I went on Monday and they charged me 75 dollars for a lousy checkup, when I double checked and asked about Friday they told me they were booked and would see my dog in the next three to four weeks. They are liars and just want to collect the money from the fees. They charge you for fees without you even knowing, they are thieves. Don’t come here.

They almost killed my Sphynx Cat with a botched neuter surgery then kept misdiagnosing him when he wasn't recovering. He ended up with a huge abscess in his abdomen from a staph infection incurred during the procedure: Ended up going to the ER for emergency surgery. $6500 later. When I asked for my money back from Sweet Home I never even received a phone call back. Do yourself a favor and don't take your fur babies here.

Despite as others may comment. I've been taking my pups for the past 13 years here. The staff is wonderful. You can tell they love animals and help as much as possible.Unlike other vets, they explain what is wrong or great about your pet. I'm a 1000 question gal, and they answer every single one as best to their knowledge or they direct me to the main vet.Lucy is one of the main reasons why i continue to take my babies there. She is very knowledgeable and makes sure you get the help you need as soon as possible.I have 2 other vets as backups (we all need back ups) but this one has to be #1.Yes its a little pricy for my personal income but, quality vs quantity. The only thing i wish was if they were open either a little longer during the week or if they were open Saturdays.Other than that keep up the amazing work and thank you for helping us with our babies! ?Max, Cody & Saidey?

This place used to be ok years ago... bow they're horribly managed and feels like a big scam. My dog had his annual exam in Jan 2023 and received medication for his ear. 9 months later he needs more of the ear medication. These people are telling me that, even though his next exam isn't due until 2024, they must repeat the exact same exam for $75 before flushing his ear and giving him more medication. SCAM ⚠️ AVOID.

I first came to Sweet Home Veterinary Hospital back in September of 2014. Back then I believe it was called Community Veterinary Hospital and I found them because I had an emergency situation with my Dashaud, who later passed from lymphoma. They were the only veterinary service that didn't try to pillage my pocket book and actually cared about my dog over the cost. They even worked with me on making payments which was a Godsend a the time because I wasn't making that much money. Dr. Swope took over after my previous vet retired and sold her practice, becoming Sweet Home Veterinary Hospital but the care and concern for my dogs and cat has never wavered...a totally seamless transition. I've absolutely loved getting to know the Team over the years and I can't imagine going anywhere else. I know that there are other vets out there that are just as great but I can honestly say that I look forward to every appointment and my 4-legged babies are never stressed when we go and that's the most important thing for me. So, for what it's worth, I totally recommend Sweet Home Veterinary Hospital whenever I'm asked for a vet referral but ultimately it's up to you to make your own decision. As for me and my babies, we will continue to visit Dr Swope, DVM and Dr. De La Torre, DVM and I am completely satisfied with everyone on my vet team...1,000%!!

Because of the love I have for my baby, I have to say this. Yesterday, my dog died. I called and told them that she was serious. If they could help me, they told me that they no longer had an appointment. I told them, I have been with you for years, my baby is dying and They don't care about bad service, now my baby is resting, they don't know how much her loss hurts me now she is in a better place. thank you sweet home hospital

SHORT STORY: Dr. Swope is **not** knowledgeable enough about bunnies to provide efficient veterinary services to them. I took my bunny in for physical exams every year for three years, and she never bothered to check inside her mouth, even when dental issues are extremely common in rabbits (I found this out later). This resulted in expensive emergency vet visits and an urgent dental procedure. I emailed her over a week ago and she has not responded. LONG STORY: My bunny stopped eating and pooping for over 24 hours which meant she was dealing with GI stasis, this can be deadly for rabbits. We took her to an ER vet (VEG) and they found that her right molar was so insanely overgrown that it was poking her cheek, so she couldn't eat without being in pain. This ER vet does not provide dental procedures for rabbits, so we rushed to call tons of vets near and far around us who could trim her molar in the next two days because we obviously didn't want her to die of not eating properly, and we were leaving for our honeymoon trip within the next 48 hours!!! We didn't want to leave it up to our bunnysitters to syringe feed her for the next two weeks, but mainly we just didn't want our bunny to suffer with this overgrown tooth poking her cheek a minute longer. Luckily, we found a vet about an hour from us that specialized in rabbits and provided the dental procedure we needed. We were even luckier that they could squeeze her in to do it the same day, but obviously it was considered and charged as an ER visit. This vet told us that this situation could have been prevented if we had checked her teeth earlier...but I thought I was doing the responsible thing by bringing my bunny in for annual physical exams at Dr. Swope's clinic, but turns out they were pointless. The most recent visit with Dr. Swope was just 3 months prior to this emergency. Dr. Swope never bothered to look inside her mouth, and at the time, I didn't know dental issues were common in rabbits so I didn't ask her to check. But SHE'S the vet, shouldn't she be the one to take charge in what to inspect? Shouldn't she know that dental issues are extremely common and even fatal to rabbits? It took the ER vet only a few seconds to inspect her mouth right in front of us to find the overgrown molar, she used a small instrument and no anesthesia of any kind. These emergency vet visits and procedure cost us nearly $1,000. And my bunny lost over half a pound due to her not eating properly, the ER vet said she was "skin and bones." To further prove my point, during one of the physical exams with Dr. Swope, I brought up an issue explaining that my bunny had been smearing her poops more often than ever (like skidmarks), which started forming some matting under my bunny's bum - she said nothing helpful to this situation, and just said her matting wasn't that bad, and that she's seen a "lot worse." Turns out it's probably because she wasn't chewing her food properly, because after we fixed my bunny's tooth, the skidmarks and matting stopped! Here's what I learned from this experience: If you have a rabbit, find someone who REALLY knows and specializes in rabbits. Just because a vet "can" see rabbits in their practice, does not mean they will know what your rabbit needs. You are your best (and sometimes only) advocate. We love our bunny to pieces. She cuddles with us, hops on the couch to watch TV with us, allows everyone to pet her, and is all around a sweetie - (also according to every vet she's seen.) She is worth all the love and care and so are your companions!

They refuse to update prescriptions for my dogs without trying to charge us another few hundred dollars. They’re only interested in making money and not the well being of your animal. They’re also not sending me accurate vaccination records now. Very spiteful people.
