Terrible customer service, unsafe weight environment, and the general manager Alexia is useless. I signed up in person at this gym and the young lady at the front did not sign me up correctly, I had added a buddy pass to my account which was never added to my account when advertised it was included. My email was never collected so I never received a copy of my contract and when I went in the next time they told me I didnt have a buddy pass. I called in and spoke to a person in the front who then sold me a promotion using his code to get a buddy pass for $5 add on. The next week I went in to learn my buddy pass was weekends only and when I tried to upgrade to the "full buddy pass" they wanted me to pay for both the $5 weekend buddy pass and the full buddy pass for another $19.99. The membership only cost $23 so it made no sense and when I spoke to the GM about it she was useless and had no customer service skills. She told me I was locked in for a year already and she tried to charge me $50 to upgrade my account. Terrible service, gym is unsafe with the equipment by not being bolted into the floor. Weights are a mess everywhere and there is no responsibility in this gym.

I was a loyal member of this gym for several years, but my experience soured over time due to ongoing issues, particularly the lack of attention from the general manager. When I first joined, the gym seemed decent, but over the years, things went downhill fast. One of the major frustrations was the condition of the amenities. The sauna and steam room were both broken for months, and despite multiple inquiries to the general manager, no effort was made to repair or replace them. They were a key part of the gym's appeal, and I had used them regularly as part of my fitness routine. But after they were out of service for so long, it was clear that member satisfaction wasn't a priority. The gym's equipment was often outdated and in need of repair, but it was the general manager's complete lack of responsiveness that really stood out. Whenever I reached out about these issues, I got vague responses like "We're working on it," but nothing ever changed. The sauna and steam room remained out of order for months, and when I asked for an update, the manager was either unavailable or simply ignored me. I left the gym after my contract terminated and had been away for almost a year. When recently (this past week) my girlfriend and I decided to give it another shot. Unfortunately it wasn't the best decision at all. While we understand that prices are set, when we spoke with the manager Alexia about prices and potentially using ClassPass instead while we thought about our decision to join or adjusting our time slot, we felt she prioritized the sale over providing respectful service. We didn't expect special treatment, but we did expect a basic level of respect and courtesy, which seemed lacking during our interaction. When we initially asked about using ClassPass we inquired about which time slot we could choose. She said "any time slot" but did not let us know that it meant we would have to come back an hour later. When we inquired about using the gym immediately instead of waiting for the later time slot (since we were already there), she stated we would have to wait. We asked if we could go work out sooner to not have to wait and she refused rather than coming to a mutual agreement. This lack of clear communication and inconsistency was frustrating and felt like we were being punished instead, as we sat on the ground next to her desk waiting for the hour to roll around. I believe some additional customer service and communication skills training could be beneficial for your staff. Especially her. It's important to feel valued as a customer, and unfortunately, this experience didn't meet the standards I've come to expect from any gym. With that being said, do not go to this gym. The equipment is still outdated, it's overcrowded, steam room still doesn't work, sauna is on and off and the level of professionalism is minimal to say the least.

Think twice before coming here. Do not waste your money at this gym. The customer service is atrocious and they will sell you a month to month membership but actually reel you into a 1 year contract before even being considered to cancel. I learned 4 months too late and noticed my monthly bill had been raised without my consent, at this point I wanted out. While also realizing this gym is not maintained properly and is not up to standard in terms of safety, lighting, and equipment. If you do come here be prepared to have your eardrums blasted by obnoxious EDM music constantly, to the point where you can't even hear yourself speak to the reception desk. Once my year contract was up, and "considered up for cancellation", according to their standards. I was then told that I would have to wait an additional 2 weeks for my request to be drafted and considered for cancellation. I asked why I had to wait, only to realize they do that on purpose, so you can be charged again once your monthly bill is due. So I asked to cancel same day and they hit me with, "You would have to pay an additional monthly premium if you would like same day cancellation". This is the type of non-sense you are going to be dealing with at this gym. They hound you down for your money, in whatever sleezy and unethical way they can. This place does not treat their customers with transparency nor respect. Cancellation requests should not be "considered", they need to be honored at the customers request, ESPECIALLY after being chained for a year. But that is what to expect from a receptionist with a rack shaped like the Western Sahara and an IQ of your 5th grade hamster that could literally use a Volkswagen Golf as a dildo. If you're not into safe spaces being invaded... this one isn't for you. In which case I would have called my lawyer on the spot. Do better.

If you like having access to weights, kind staff, working equipment, and working paper towel dispensers this gym is NOT for you. Every location seems to have the same guiding principles, "get them to cancel their membership and make it really difficult to do so". They have no customer service line, just one person to talk to about every issue within the entire company. They close at 6pm on Sat and Sun and still aren't able to fine off hours to bolt down equipment and you better believe that the staff will bother you in between sets to ask if they can finish their work aka making the loudest noise possible and shaking the literal ground beneath you. You'll be able to hear it over your headphones, I promise. 2 stars for the lighting, loud music, and access to cool equipment, when it's working.

Customer Service! The lady at the front desk was rude and dismissive! It's crazy that yt people treat blacks in a peculiar manner... it's even more disturbing when Hispanics do it! That's how I left feeling!

Hate that if you decide you want to cancel they will charge you a fee larger than your monthly subscription for not giving a notice in advance. How about you charge me for a month of the membership and then cancel me then after? Ridiculous

Loved this gym at first. I'm a competing body builder and came from years of private gyms but the equipment (specifically the leg and glute section) sold me on Speakeasy. I even got two of my training clients to join also because of how much I was impressed by the equipment here. However... people are BEYOND negligent in returning their weights to where they belong. None of the plates match (which drives my OCD insane) and are NEVER on the weight trees, they're always either left on the floor or on machines. There's dumbbells scattered all over the floor, some in the turf area, some in the cable area, some by machines, rarely ever where they're supposed to be. But I can get past all that... what I CANT get past is how there were 10+ machines down for "maintenance" this entire week and how I was told that they "would probably be fixed by Monday." Excuse me? No leg extensions, no hamstring curls, no cable rows, all their VERY basic and necessary machines were "down" or getting reupholstered. I used to manage a very popular and busy gym and these types of repairs are scheduled. Why on earth would you schedule all of your most popular gym machines to get fixed at the same time? I pay a coach for my bodybuilding career and this entire week I've had to make up my workouts, which I know seems minimal - but it's detrimental to my programming having to make THAT many changes to my workouts. I would rather pay the massive price difference for a private bodybuilder gym than to have to go in every day wondering how I'm going to have to go rogue with my exercises on any given day. I take several of my training clients to planet fitness and although they are considered a "beginner" gym, their hours, amenities, staff, and members are significantly more considerate and clean. The new one in Glendale is also 24 hours and is only $25 a month. Lots of hidden fees here too. I fell into the "$15/20 a month" plan" but was charged a $60 fee the second month I joined and was told that they charge that so that they can keep the monthly fees minimal. Is it still minimal if I'm paying my normal monthly fee loans then an additional fee that's 3x the amount I pay for monthly? Why not just prorate that amount amongst a regular monthly payment? Seems sketchy to me.

I recently tried out a 10-day free pass at the gym. Rep Andrea assured me multiple times that the pass didn't require consecutive visits, meaning missing a day wouldn't affect it. However, when I went to work out today, I was told my pass had expired after using only one day. Instead of helping me resolve the issue, the staff member simply returned my ID and sent me on my way. This experience highlighted a lack of customer service and accurate information among the staff. I suggest the gym invest in training to ensure all employees can provide accurate details and better support for clients.

SANITATION! I've been going to this gym for 6+ months now. The cleanliness/up-keep is very poor. The men's showers have no heads, toilets are often broken, leaking or always has a sign written "maintenance has been scheduled" for several weeks-months. The water fountains have not been cleaned since I joined 6 MONTHS AGO! The same exact mildew from my first day. The sweet lady that cleans should not be cleaning in the men's locker room while men are present. It's not appropriate and unprofessional. If it was gender reverse, there would be legal complaints. [Overall] The Gym itself is a vibe but... Do better Speakeasy Fitness!

Horrific customer service by the lady at the desk at 1:47pm today, she seems miserable and gives so much attitude. This is the second time I'm trying to buy a protein shake and she doesn't acknowledge me. Gym has great equipment and it's a great location. Most staff have been good but this lady ruins the overall experience. It's unfortunate that she's at the front face representing for this gym.

I've been a member of Speakeasy since late 2020. During the pandemic, the gym made cleanliness and member safety a priority. I have frequented several locations including: NOHO, Reseda, DTLA, and Van Nuys, and overall, I've had a positive experience. The facilities are well-maintained, with a wide variety of equipment that caters to all fitness levels. I particularly appreciate the amenities, such as the saunas, steam rooms, and pools (in some locations). The membership population is diverse, featuring your favorite social media influencer, students, and working professionals.

Great gym, good variety of music, clean, and well thought out selection of equipment. Also dark inside with cool dimmed lights so you can work out feeling incognito. Also has different sections so you can disappear if you want to be secluded and not in front of everyone. And when you do want to show out you can do that too. You can get what you need done and the leg section is a plus.
