We bought a kitten a year ago, he ended up with severe diarrhea. It was Giardia, an infection. Poor baby had the runs really bad and we had to pay for this treatment. We were not told once we adopted him. Be very careful with this joke of a shelter.
Today DUFF is doing well and weighs a good 16 lbs, he is a healthy big boned kitty per the vet. Also, a cuddle bug.

Please strongly consider volunteering some tone to help the cats thereIt's not the type of commitment where you have to do X amount every other day or week, you help when you can & they will appreciate it.

Prrry's Place is really "Heaven on Earth" for cats. Mature ats live communally in spacious rooms, approx. 4 - 7 per room. Each room is decked out with cat trees, toys, cat beds, benches, built in nooks, constantly refilled and refreshed food choices, built in shelves up high around the walls, and much more. Perry's has basic healthcare on site and regular vet visits and volunteers (like me) who observe, sit, play with, attend to cats' needs, and report about the health, disposition, and relationships between cats. Kittens and special needs or ill cats have special quartets. These cats are loved,, in heart and in deed. This is just a small part of what makes Perry's Place such a good shelter for so many cats in need. PLEASE DONATE!!! Thank You

I reached out to Perry’s Place when I was struggling financially to pay for my cat’s vet bills to get her eye checked out. Their Pet Program under community services helped with the stressors behind the expensive eye specialist bill. Not only does this organization care so much for their cats, they also care for the community and their caregivers.

Truly Heaven on Earth! They responded immediately during the holidays when my dear cat boy was in a medical emergency. I was able to take him to the vet quickly, who saved him from death, as he got acutely sick within a few days. They kept in communication with me & the vet to pay for my cat's medical bills. I'm very grateful!

My husband had heard the warnings that Heaven on Earth cat adoption can be selective about disclosing medical or behavioral problems. But he reached out to them anyway because cat adoption resources are scarce in the valley. The manager pre-selected a cat and, to her credit, Oreo immediately bonded.
My husband is an experienced pet owner having raised five dogs, nine cats, and numerous other animals over the past 40 years. Including a pound rescue cat that they said was incapable of bonding, but with patience became his baby for the last 12 years until his passing.
Oreo and my husband were instantly inseparable. If he stepped out of the room, Oreo would meow until he returned, and then it was a loving purr fest. My husband stayed home 24/7, and Oreo clung to him day and night, even as he slept on a sofa just to be there for Oreo.
However, every few minutes Oreo would leave his arms, and start frantically panic screaming at the door (as if he was being beaten), and then run back into my husband's arms for comfort. I think Oreo was sensing my dog well beyond that door. All the while, my service animal never left my side.
This was not normal cat hissing, but an uncontrollable instinctual reaction that no amount of time could have ever resolved. It did not matter that Oreo and my dog remained in different rooms with no contact. Oreo had seen my dog twice, and I guess that was twice too many times.
After 48 hours, Oreo developed mild diarrhea and we knew that the longer he stayed in our home, the more traumatized he would become. Potentially getting very sick or becoming emotionally unable to be re-homed.
Bringing Oreo back was one of the most difficult decisions that my husband has ever made, and the fact that Oreo spent 95% of his time in my husband's arms made that decision even harder. But he put Oreo's needs above his own, so Oreo would have the best chance of a happy life, even if it meant being away from us.
My husband had hoped to take a few days before opening up to another fur baby to love. Rather than having any compassion for this experience, management repeatedly stated that it was his fault for not isolating Oreo. When he asked to be considered for a different fur baby, he was told NO since we had not kept Oreo for two full weeks. A policy they had never previously mentioned, and to which they admitted was subjectively applied. Not that we would have risked Oreo's well being just to fit their policy. I can only hope that they treat cats better than they treat people.
The city animal shelter is no-kill and has fur babies that need a home, they disclose all medical and behavioral issues, and they don't punish people for doing right by their pets.

What a wonderful organization! I was in a time of crisis with my cat and needed help right away. Heaven on Earth came through for us, making a terrible situation SO much better for my kitty, and for me too. They really care, and made sure things went as smoothly as possible. I cannot speak highly enough of them! Thank you Heaven On Earth!

Nothing but positive remarks about this place. Their pet program assisted me with expenses from another vet when I had to get my dog neutered. I’m so grateful for them and their assistance. I truly appreciate it!
