Great service by absolute pros. I rented a boom mic setup and they gave me everything I needed at a reasonable price, and also a crash course in sound. I misplaced one of the cords and had to pay for it and they were cool about that and just charged a reasonable restocking fee without trying to overcharge me. I just wish they rented lights too...

Location sound is an industry, specific sales and rental establishment of audio equipment. I have been a customer of theirs for decades, and have never once complained after a transaction so, if anybody’s reading this for a recommendation on whether to use Location sound or not for their audio equipment, purchasing or renting or servicing, I would recommend them for all of the above

Location sound has been an oasis for me. When covid hit. I had to learn how to do audio because of all the restrictions. All workers are friendly, approachable and full of knowledge. The tech guys upstairs are remarkable. They had helped me with cables, lavalier pigtails and diagnostic of equipment. Problems had always been solved. The rubber bands went missing during a shoot for the microphone support. I got through it but wanted to get extra. I went in and the salesperson recommended the Rycote Invision INV-7 shock mount support system. I LOVE it! NO more rubber bands! The shock system really does work. Location sound guided me with recommendations for my recorder, microphones and many extras. I told them my budget and they come possible options for what I need. I highly recommend Location Sound for any of your sound needs. UPDATE: 6-24-22 This Sennheiser MKH50 is the best sounding microphone that I have ever heard. I am a camera guy and had to learn how to do sound when Covid hit. The clients did not want full crews. I started out with G3 packs with Tram TR50's. Sold those and when to Sanken Cos11D's. Best option when you need actors on lavaliers in my opinion. I had a bunch of talking heads coming up and a buddy told me try a boom mic. I then tried the Sennheiser 416 and was very impressed. Later, I was recommended to try the Sennheiser MKH50 for interior work. I gave it a shot if not I would return it. WOW, Wow is all I can say. This microphone is a keeper. The sound is rich, full and very present on the bottom end. I can understand why some say they would not use it for a high woman's voice etc. I just love the sound. NO processing in post what so ever. This mic is very sensitive so I went with the Rycote Big Ball gag windshield and windjammer. We were shooting under a fan and I was picking up the wind with the foam that came with the microphone. I put on the Big Ball Gag and the wind sound went away. I was impressed. As an added benefit the room sound was brought down as well, I think I will always have this BBG windshield when I am shooting. Excellent results. I tried going outside with the Big Ball Gag and windjammer (dead cat hairball to cover ball) and Wow again. This combination makes the Sennheiser MKH50 and exterior mic as well. If you are on the fence. GET it. If you are doing research about it. Buy it ounce and cry. It will last for decades. I was going to go with the 8050 but needed capsules. My research came back with the 8050 is awesome for music and the MKH50 is for voices. I am very happy and my clients are happy. They have complimented me with how they sound. They thought that I did something in post. I highly recommend this mic and accessories for it.
