They ripped us off for more when they got to the house to pick up our stuff. This was years ago and I still would not use them ever!!

DO NOT USE THIS MOVING COMPANY. Took 37 days to get my move! Called them multiple times and all I got was "move is delayed". No explanation, no delivery date, no common courtesy, nothing. This company in unprofessional in every aspect. They are unethical, untrustworthy and the worst company I have ever dealt with. If I could give negative stars I would. Total nightmare. I did not book this company. I booked another who subcontracted this one. Buyer Beware when you book a move!

Worst Experience of my Life!!!! This is the absolute worst company I've ever had the unpleasant encounter of working with. They are outright crooks. I honestly cannot believe they are still in business. On top of the additional charges they added to my move (there is a lot of fine print...do yourself a favor, read it all or better yet, choose another company), they didn't deliver all my furniture. To file a claim, they have an archaic process where the claim is not accepted via email or fax, only by US postal service and they request pictures or proof of loss. How do you prove that something wasn't delivered? I warn everyone that by choosing LD Moving and Storage, you will be choosing a painful experience.

The worst experience ever in life!!! Star relocation quoted a binding price of $1500. LD came to my home and quoted us about $700 more! They charged whatever fee they could and maximized it. They know people are the most vulnerable when they are moving cross country and they take full advantage of it. They made me leave behind a $300 bike that was INCLUDED in my quote because they tried to charge me for it again. They lied about the cubic feet, they lied about when they would be delivering it and they made it MY job to have to reach out to a driver for this company that I DID NOT HIRE! It is NOT my responsibility to play phone tag with YOUR drivers. The driver screened calls and avoided me as much as he could because he knew he lied to me TWICE about my delivery time. It went from 3pm today to 7am tomorrow. If all of my stuff is not here at 7am in the same condition it was in when they loaded it on that truck, i WILL go through EVERY avenue to get what i am owed and going through their claims department isnt one of those avenues! This driver LIED and said he couldn’t find my address, i gave him my direct address, the address to my rental office AND the name of the apartments AND sent him a screenshot of the location on google just for him to say “oh its not in my gps” and “oh i sent you a pic of the gps not showing the address”. I promise they wont get one red cent more from me when they get here and if anything is stolen, they can guarantee I will sue their driver, LD AND star relocation. I WOULD ONLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO MY WORST ENEMY, TO MAKE THEIR LIVES HELL OF COURSE. They arent good for anything and idk how theyre even in business after all of this time. The driver blocked my phone number but when I facetimed him he answered. I know people in high places and it wont take long for me to get his face as well as the name of this company out there.Update: they snapped our $1000 California king tufted wingback headboard leg in half and someone emailed me after talking to CS saying to get quotes so they could repair it but then someone from the claims dept sent an email stating they would only pay .60 per lbs which is about $22! The cubic sq ft is charged to us @$4.29 but the cost of our items is only .60! Im going to contact other users and get a lawsuit started. Idc what the contract says. This is scamming!

LD Moving moved my things out of my storage unit from Redondo Beach to an apartment in the Bay Area. The employees were polite, timely and kept me informed during the entire process.

WELL-EXECUTED. This was the first time I have ever used a long-distance moving service. Everything was on time and as promised. No surprises, as both sides had clearly communicated our respective expectations. The whole process was much easier than I thought it would be, thanks to Ziggy and his crew (Eric, Israel, Roberto).

Terrible and incompetent moving company. They doubled the price I was quoted when they showed up for my move, leaving me with no choice but to pay it. Then I gave them a whole month's notice to deliver my things and they assured me it would get there within 10 days of scheduling but it took 15, at which point they told me the contract says 21 days. I had to call their office 4 times to get an update for my move and they never had the information I needed. I had to sleep on an air mattress with a newborn baby for a whole week because of the incompetence of this company. I have a buddy in college who started his own moving company with only college students that was run far superior to this company. Please do not use this company, they are absolutely terrible and the 5 star ratings they have are most certainly fake.

Anyone who has moved before understands that it is inherently stressful. The job of a moving company it to make it easier by explaining the process clearly, showing up on time and delivering on time professionally. My problem with LD was the front office administrative staff was supremely rude (April). They also didn’t disclose that they were having trouble with drivers and trucks. And of course, items were damaged. The move crew that arrived in CA was good; the drop off was a single guy who was contracted and quit before he arrived. The guy shows up early and the office calls rudely telling me that I must accept or else? The guy arrived EARLIER than scheduled. LAME.

We were moving a two bedroom house from La Habra, CA to KC MO and had planned to use a container. But in looking at moving sites International Van Lines came up as a good alternative. I hired IVL based upon a comparable "binding quote" to containers of $4,265 (500 cubic ft.) plus they would wrap and load. Turns out IVL is a broker and they hired LD Moving & Storage. When LD Moving came to do our move they said IVL was wrong and they charged us $6,265 (750 cubic ft.) even though the inventory list for IVL and LD Moving differed very little. Worse yet, LD Moving said "this always happens" that the bids differ widely when they come to the clients house. LD Moving kept exaggerating the size of our stuff I assume to justify the huge price they were charging me. I wrote to IVL who "investigated". I got a form letter that said "mistakes can happen" and "we always give your carrier the benefit of the doubt" and to contact LD Moving. I have contacted LD Moving twice and have not been contacted. I hired IVL and LD Moving is one of their "preferred carriers", yet LD Moving says "this always happens" that their quotes don't match. I would never hire LD Moving but you need to be cautious of International Van Lines too - or any broker really. An expensive mistake.

I don't even have the energy to write a complete review on this company. I was set up with them they international van lines which apparently is a broker. This company showed up on day of move with incorrect paperwork (quotes didn't match) and International van lines didn't answer or check in day of move and I had to blow them up. While trying to compare the quotes, the driver of the moving truck forcefully grabbed the papers I signed out of my hands and started screaming at me and trying to intimidate me. He would not let me take photos of the items I signed, and instead insisted I was being neurotic. I tore off the signature pages in the exchange and he stormed out to his truck. Later, I went outside (bc my stuff was already on his truck and I got on the phone with one of the people from LD moving and I had accidentally mixed up a charge amount while speaking with him over the phone, and once I corrected my error he dismissed me and yelled at me for "wasting his time" even though I had shared with them that the driver near assaulted me in my own home in front of my mom and my partner. This is NOT okay. Never trust these guys. They are the lowest of the low. Literally dirt human beings. At least my move is done, and I never have to deal with them again. You've been warned about this boiler room "moving company" - TRASH This company, however, is beyond scummy. The drivers try to tell you they are contracted and don't work for the company. They act as though all things are out of their control. I confronted the driver and questioned his employment status and he ADMITTED to lying to me. This is a group of trashy people working out of a trashy office (quite literally - their address ties back to a trash yard. Perfect fit for this company!

Despite the generous 3 stars, I want to start off by saying I would NOT recommend this company. We ended up with LD through a broker, which means we did not direct select them. On arrival, they were on time and fairly nice. They did charge us DOUBLE the estimate but from my research, it still seemed within the range. LD was quick and seemed to take good care of our boxes. They were good enough that I gave them all a tip. Before leaving, they asked us for our first available date but would not give us an approximately ETA because they had other pick-ups. Remember, I used a broker so I did not know anything about LD. When they left, I googled them. Good God, it scared me...On Monday, 2 days after the pick-up, I started calling LD to see how they were tracking. No answer, of course! We continued to call everyday and only got an answer 50% of the time. Over the 16 day period, they told us our things were being loaded "today or tomorrow" about 5-6 times. The broker was not much help either... So, we stayed in our new home for over 2 weeks with nothing and virtually no idea when and in what shape our things would arrive. 14 days in, we get an email staying our load would arrive within the next 2 days. The driver also called to say they were arriving the following Sunday between 8am-2pm. Come Sunday, the driver never comes. To be fair, he was decent at keeping us in the loop. Finally the driver arrives on the last day of the window before the broker would have had to pay us $50 for every late day. The driver and movers were quite friendly. All the boxes were there, only but 2 chips on older furniture- nothing to be concerned about. My conclusion is this- their communication was TERRIBLE and it should not have taken 16 days for our load to arrive BUT my experience was nothing like the 1 star reviews you will read. Everything arrived, nothing was broken, movers were nice and efficient. If I had to do it again, I would not go with a broken. Instead, I would use a more well-known company, vetted by the BBB to mitigate all the stress we went through.Service: Interstate moving

The movers who came to my house were nice but charge me an extra $800 to move my property across country. This is after already signing a contract with an exact amount of money charged. The extra money was for chairs that left wrapped up and moving blankets and showed up with no moving blankets all scratched up. My properties sat in a warehouse for three weeks until a driver brought it over to my new house in one day I'm driving. Whoever packed the truck did not care at all. All the boxes were packed in disarray, upside down and smashed. No rhyme or reason on how it was packed. I do not suggest anybody use this company to move any of their property anywhere.

If there was ever a way to give someone negative stars... there is no company more deserving. The short is, if you are considering this company... DON'T. If you are contracting with another company, make sure they don't subcontract out to these guys. I hired a so-called big name moving company who used LD Moving and it's been nothing but a nightmare. First clue should have been how they accept payment. When they pick up, they will only accept a check issued by your bank or US Post Office money order. When they deliver... the will ONLY accept US Post Office money order. The problem is they didn't tell me this until the day before pick up about the bank check and didn't tell me about the final payment until the day before the delivery. I paid for the full service packing. However, their idea of full service packing was to just pour your contents into boxes. They did wrap up plates and glasses, but nothing else. Literally some of the boxes when you open them, just threw contents into the boxes until they were full. I had packed some belongs myself in boxes. They ended up charging me as if they had packed these items. They even used plastic bins and boxes I had purchased for shipping items and they charged me as if the had supplied them. I could go on and on about all the items they broke or completely damaged. A $2,000 bed frame... destroyed. Six professional chef's knives... everyone of them, the tips are broken and the blades are badly damaged. And this isn't even to mention the items I'm missing. Two bags of power tools. The inventory sheets they fill out are a joke. They do NOT inventory each item but just say something like "household goods". And when they pack up your home... you are going to need professionals cleaners. They rolled up a rug and the cable line got caught up inside. When they went to carry the rug out they ripped the cord right out of the wall damaging the cable jack. They they tried to tell me they didn't do it. I received an Amazon package the same day and despite me setting it aside and telling them NOT to pack it... they packed it. They were racks for my bicycles I needed to move. I called them after they had left and they were reluctant to return but ultimately did come back and return the packages I told them NOT to pack. The house was a disaster and we had to hire a carpet cleaner after they trashed the home. When we received the items at our destination, they didn't have an answer on how the bed frame was broken. Nor could they answer why two bags of power tools had gone missing. I even had items in the pack out that didn't belong to me!!! They were part of someone else's move but they weren't interested in taking it back. I filed a claim demonstrating over $6,000 in damages and they offered me $89 for compensation. In case you think you are reading this wrong... I do mean eight-nine dollars. Oh, forgot to mention the actual cost of the move was 4 1/2 times more than their quote despite having an onsite evaluation for the quote. Of course, at the time, the people who pack you aren't the ones who do the quote and they don't tell you until AFTER they have packed everything that the quote is grossly underestimated. If you use these people, they are going to rob you and break your belongings and offer you a few pennies on compensation. Please don't make the mistake I made. NEVER EVER use this company.
