Judy has been doing my hair a long time and I have known her even longer. For the last five or six years my hair has been blonde. I was born a natural blonde but I'm not anymore, so I count on Judy to help me stay blonde. I always feel better when I leave her salon because Judy always makes my hair look beautiful and sometimes it's not easy. Sometimes I change the color myself or cut my own hair. She always fixes it for me and I always walk out with a smile on my face feeling more confident and happy. Most of the time I come in Judy is busy and has quite a few customers coming and going but she is always checking on me when I am under the dryer or checking on my bleach or color or toner. She is very conscientious about what she does and I have seen many men, women and children walk out pleased and happy. I have always have a good experience when I have visited her salon. I have met quite a few of her customers over the years and I enjoy seeing some of the same faces and just talking and laughing. My natural hair is now mostly grey and very resistant to color. For my last few visits my hair would just turn green no matter what was done to it. I don't know why, apparently there are a few different reasons green hair happens, different medication, copper, sometimes it just happens. Poor Judy worked on my hair trying different things and mixing colors, which is not easy to do, until it was no longer green. It was nobody's fault but I know my green hair stressed her out and kept me there a few hours more than usual. This happened on three occasions and each time Judy was able to make me not green. I had an appointment yesterday the green did not happen and I walked out with beautiful shiny, bouncy, blonde hair.

My friends daughter recently went to Judy for a bleach appointment. She was left under the dryer for nearly 2 hours with bleach on!! (I have never in ALL the years I've bleached my hair sat under a dryer for more than 20 min.) As you can imagine, that negligent move on the "stylist's"part has severely damaged her hair. Judy didn't seem to take proper precautions or have any concern for the health of her hair. It's really disappointing when professionals don't prioritize the health of their clients' hair. She then charged this poor girl for the service as she cried. What she should be doing is apologizing and making every effort to correct the situation. She has yet to apologize and take responsibility for her actions.

My daughter went to Judy's Hair Salon to get her hair bleached before our family vacation. Judy put bleach on her hair and put her under the dryer for almost TWO HOURS. As a result, my daughter's beautiful hair BROKE OFF at the crown and fell out in clumps as she sat crying in the salon chair. In response to her tears, Judy callously told her that it was my daughter's fault because she had gotten a Cezzane (a gentle organic smoothing treatment similar to Keratin) several days before -- which is complete nonsense -- and then proceeded to take her money for the bleaching appointment. No apology. No offer to make things right. No comforting words after DESTROYING her hair. In fact, at the writing of this review a full 24 hours later, there has yet to be an apology or an offer of resolution. After speaking to my personal stylist and showing her the photographs of my daughter's butchered hair, she said that, in her professional opinion, the exorbitant amount of time spent under the dryer with bleach on the hair is most definitely the culprit, NOT the fact that she had the Cezzane treatment. (In fact, she said the Cezzane most likely protected her hair from even further damage since it places a protective coating on the hair.) I realize that sometimes stylists make terrible mistakes. I do my best to treat people fairly and to give them grace for their human foibles, and I rarely write reviews, but when someone does this to a client, blames the innocent client for their own obvious ineptness, and then takes that client's money, they get a review from me on Yelp. I sincerely hope that whoever finds themselves reading this review will turn around and go elsewhere for their hair care needs. Judy needs to have her license revoked and possibly answer for her callous actions toward my daughter in a court of law.

My friend got her hair done here for a bleach and tone. She had previously texted Judy making it clear that she had recently done a cezanne treatment by another hair dresser. Judy was aware and asked that we wait a week before bleaching and toning the hair. However Judy moved her hair appointment day up earlier than a week for her own personal convenience. After her bleach and tone, which this client has done consistently over the last year, her hair was falling out in chunks in the salon. Not only did Judy blame her for getting her cezanne treatment, something of which she was fully aware of ahead of time, she also left the bleach on her hair under a heat lamp for nearly 2 hours. This was completely unnecessary and extremely damaging to hair. Judy has compromised the integrity of her own company with her own doings and the trust her clients have in her to take care of their hair. She refused to apologize or refund my friend. And now she is facing serious hair damage with continuous hair fallout. Judy is non responsive about the situation and matters will be taken further. As a woman, I am begging anyone and everyone who dyes their hair any color, DO NOT GO HERE! Do not risk your hair health by going to a salon ran by an unprofessional and inexperienced hair dresser.

Judy is so experienced and friendly. Her space is welcoming and she knows how to make your hair style work for you! You also can’t beat the prices. Highly reccomend!

I walked out with a refreshing haircut. Judy is a very passionate and welcoming person who is considerate of her customers. Her skills and knowledge shows through her conversations and efficient movements. The years of experience is clear when she is considering the hairstyle suitable for the hair type. The impression of the shop itself is very clean and bright, and the layout is organized. Please make appointments, so you don't miss out.

Judy does a great job. Her blonde's are nice and bright, no yellow! She is great with color. I have curly hair and am very happy.Also consider her for an up-do. Highly recommend!

Such a lovely hair salon on Lankershim! Judy is so bubbly and passionate and such a great stylist. Been coming to her a couple times now to trim my pixie and she's so so amazing!
