Ordered a cinema camera from them that was in guaranteed working condition. It ended up having a booting issue, but H & R Pawn did everything they could to help out. Wish they could have done more, but they helped me as much as they could without taking a loss. I appreciate that from a pawn shop as that's extremely uncommon.

I can't say enough positive things about H&R Jewelry and Loan Pawn shop. I have never been a in a position where I had to pawn items before but I like many I am still feeling the effect of the pandemic and need a little extra cash to get by here and there. I originally was going to another facility, whenever I'd bring an item in they would tell me it was junk and not worth much and that they needed the original receipt to prove it was real. Many of my items were gifts and I didn't have the receipts. They would then offer me a a very low amount because they were "risking that it could be a fake" This was not the case at H&R. They have been in the business for a long time and can confidently identify authentic items and they respect their worth. Gary helped me both times I was there. He was very kind and gave me a very fair loan. That was a significantly higher amount than the other facility offered me. Gary even took the time to research some other large items that I mentioned that I had at home that I didn't want to lug all the way down there. He gave me an estimate of what loan they could offer me on the item if the item was in good condition etc. The store itself isn't flashy and sparkly like some of the other loan stores around town. But in all honesty I'd much rather a store use money to provide a higher loan to the customer than using the money for fancy rotating displays and case lights etc. Lets face it, a Pawn shop is a business. They are out to make money just like any business. It's a difficult position to be in to have to pawn something that has value to you especially sentimental value. Gary made the process smooth and painless. He was very kind and didn't try to coax me into an unfair or uncomfortable situation. In fact it was the exact opposite. He made the transaction feel normal, fair, and easy. I will use H&R again and would recommend to anyone who needs a loan/sale at a good price.

The staff was very attentive to my extremely picky needs trying to find a ring. I still haven't found that one, however these people are very nice, I will be visiting again.

To all people out there do not go to H & R pawn shop on Lankershim I went in to buy a 14 karat gold solid gold 24 inch chain and then went to another store and found out that the chains that I bought from this pawnshop is hollow inside the chain it is not a solid gold chain so if anybody goes out to get anything from this pawnshop make sure that they way it in front of you a 14 K 24” Gold chain should weigh 14.7 g the one they sold me was supposed to be completely real and solid gold turned out to be only 7.1 g instead of the 14.7 g that it should be they rip you off do not go here to buy any jewelry. They are Rip off Artist it’s a scam find you another pawnshop that is honest and make sure they weigh the product in front of you and look up on your phone and see what it should weigh yes and make sure they bring out the scale to read in front of you or you will be rip off like I did

I was in and out in five minutes. It was close to closing and I came in with a question about some jewelry I had. They examined it and gave me a quote. I accepted their offer and boom! Done deal :) I am no expert and I have no idea if it was the best deal out there, but it was quick, convenient, and I left happy! They've been in business for many years, so I'm sure they offered whatever the market norm is these days idk lol There were a handful of guys working behind the counter- some were more business and matter-of-fact and some were more conversational. All of them were nice and professional. They scanned my drivers license and had me input my thumb print. It's good to know that they are a legitimate business that won't deal with criminals or stolen property.

I have been going to H&R for over 25 years. They have always been more than fair and honest. The gentleman that work there are respectful and polite. I feel more then comfortable that they are giving me the best market value for my items. They have also been so helpful with me in time of need. I would not ever think about going anywhere else. Gary and Greg have the cleanest and most professional jewelry and loan company in the entire San Fernando Valley. Period. They are professional, courteous and provide an environment that feels safe and inviting to all prospective sellers of multiple items and those who wish to pawn, as well. This is not a bologna review. I never met these guys until about two years ago. They are the answer to financial problems if you need a short term loan or want to sell an item or three.
