My wife’s Toyota was spewing gasoline all over the engine. An awful horrible smell and frightening experience.She was broke down and we had to have it towed.I called several repair shops in the surrounding area, and decided on Ace(Steve’s) auto repair on Nordhoff.He was kind over the phone and assured me he could look at it if we towed it there.We were very worried that we would be gouged since we had no where else to go and the car was not drivable.Wow, super nice and super friendly guys. All of them came to help us and in a caring way.The employee diagnosed the problem, gave me a quote of $400 to repair it. I had no choice so I gave him the go ahead.I then walked in to the office and asked Steve what the name of the part was. I looked it up at Auto one and it was only $133, not $300 as he had quoted me. I asked Steve why he was overcharging me, and he nicely told me the employee quotes me the price for the whole housing and the defective part. I did not need the whole housing and he nicely changed the price to $133.Of course, if I hadn’t asked, he probably would have over charged me.Why a 5 star review, because they 100% deserve it.Would I go back? AbsolutelyWould i recommend them to a friend? Yes.They went above and beyond to help us and were genuinely nice.Service: Engine repair

This is truly one of the last HONEST auto repair places anywhere! Ara and Saro are efficient and as I can't say enough soooo very HONEST! They run diagnostics and give you price quotes that come in as promised, if something changes they NOTIFY you and then ask for permission to proceed....gee as it should be but so not often is not. Our family has several cars and all of them are cared for at Ace Service Center. We were referred to Ara by two different neighbors more than 15 years ago and we have been taking our cars there all these years. Recent experience: our college-aged son's Prius did not pass smog and paperwork noted that the hybrid battery was tripping the check engine light. My son took it to 2 different Toyota dealers and was quoted approx $4,1K by both. He then took the car to another private hybrid repair specialist who quoted him $1,100 to replace just bad battery cells. I insisted on taking it to Ace for a final opinion before putting out such an expense. Ace determined that the hybrid battery had a bad terminal that was replaced for less than $100 and the check engine light went off. We still need to drive it to recalibrate it. BUT their honesty, after 3 different places "inspected" the car literally saved us thousands! They are a busy place but if ya need to wait a day or two to get in - it is well with the wait, for the sake of your car and your bank account!!
