The Butchery Crystal Cove used to be our go to for great steaks, burgers, Carne asada, chicken, and an incredible selection of cheeses. We went at least once a week, someone three times. Not anymore. After today's experience we will not go back.We purchased 2 lbs of marinated carne asada in vacuum sealed bags, cooked it, and t was gamey and tasted spoiled.Thinking it was just an off batch, we went back to buy burgers and let them know as a courtesy. We asked for nothing in return.What we got was rudeness, denial, and ridicule. We were told, " it's beef so it's not gamey." When we said "we've had it before it's never spoiled and off like this, you might want to check it " we were told it was not off , and nothing was wrong with it.The same gentleman refused to slice the Cheddar we ordered for our burgers, and told us " it's an artisanal cheese and can't be sliced." We have purchased that artisanal cheddar at least a dozen times in the past and had it sliced every time.We will spend our hard earned money elsewhere from now on, and you should, too.

Great great sandwiches to take to the beach! Their meats looked wonderful and all of their accoutrements, sides, etc. looked amazing. This could be your go to spot for all the makings for your weekly dinners.

I work in one of the stores in the same shopping center and treat myself to one of their sandwiches from time to time. Every sandwich I have tried has been delicious.

Arguably the best place for charcuterie in this neck of the woods. Great selection of meats and a very knowledgeable and accommodating staff. So many places around here act like you're putting them out or have no idea how to cut charcuterie. They also have a great selection of cheeses and beers and I keep meaning to try their sandwiches, but always end up getting some prosciutto and salami. Only real complaint - and it's minor - the point of sales does ask for a tip. Just pay folks a living wage.

The quality of the food here is off the charts. The staff are always super helpful, knowledgeable and kind. Great ambiance and vibe here. I've been buying smoked turkey for sandwiches for several months and it's the best I've had. You will pay only only a few dollars more than you would at Whole Foods, for example, but this is far superior in every way. Even the slicing and presentation is beautiful.

I needed a menu for a really special dinner with European cousins. I started at the Butchery and got even the most hard to find ingredients, including: cut beef marrow bones, imported beef salami, gigantic aged steaks, and so so much more. If you are a foodie or just trying to find unique ingredients, go here!

It is quite literally a butcher shop but we stopped in for lunch. They have the best sandwiches - bread is amazing, fillings are amazing. The staff was super friendly and helpful and the store has a great vibe. We enjoyed our sandwiches at the picnic tables out front with a full ocean view and summer breeze.

Great spot to get your sandwich fix on. Friendly service! They recommended the Smoked Brisket sandwich and it was delish! Will definitely stopped in again the next time I'm in Newport! 10 out of 10 recommend.

How about a sandwich shop that claims they can’t make sandwiches? Good joke, right…only it is not a joke. After 10 minutes standing at counter without anyone coming to take my order, workers finally emerge to post a sign stating “no sandwiches”. I ask if can lettuce wrap, get told no. I ask for just the meat, get told no. It seems no one in this mall likes to actually sell food

I always enjoy the sandwiches here - the quality of the meat and toppings are all fresh and great. Only improvement feedback is to add more condiments so the sandwich isn't as dry. I also had the macaroni salad and honestly I may come back just for that because it was freaking delicious. Definitely recommend trying this spot out! Get a sandwich, a side, and a beer and enjoy the ocean views on a beautiful day!
