“I love going to this shop! It is just a few steps away from the Newport pier. The owner, Yalcin, is so welcoming and nice. He cares for his customers and provides the best product selection I've seen in Newport Beach and his prices are fair. The interior of the store is also a lot more modern and cool than your regular tobacco stores in the area. I definitely recommend you to check out this store for your next tobacco visit to support small businesses!”

“This is by far the best smoke shop/novelty item shop/glass shop in the Los Angeles County area. Nobody else has better prices. Nobody else has better products. Nobody else has the quality plus quantity plus pricing - taking into consideration the entire inventory. Not to mention they are open 24 hours, and the employees are unreal. I had the honor of coming in, while the owner was here, and was able to speak with him, and this guy is the real deal. He only carries the best products, and he truly cares about his customers. So much so that I came in on vacation, I heard about a Halloween discount, I was not gonna be on vacation during the Halloween discount, and he gave it to me anyways. So I felt compelled to write this review because this is one of the dankest smoke shops I have ever been in my life and if you are in the LA area and you go anywhere else you are sleeping Sun.”

“This shop was a little tricky to get to because it's next to that Mamba club and the lot was full since I went at 8:30pm on a Saturday night. Also the parking lot is kinda one way so if you aren't assertive and an awkward person (as I am) then you might get forced back onto Beach Blvd. BESIDES THAT... I was pretty impressed with the place! They had a huge selection of product and the guy was SO nice! They had a bell so I didn't have to stand around like an idiot (my experience at other shops). I for sure recommend this place to others.”

“The place is at the very back of the building in the corner. Can be a bit spooky at night since there aren't many lights. Have to check in at the front with ID every time. Can register an account for points for discounts.
They have a small to medium selection of all kinds. I'd recommend maybe placing an order online to save time. All product is locked up and requires employees to take out, so it can get slow if crowded. They have discounts on certain days (edibles 15%off on Monday) so take advantage. Cash or debit only, and debit has a $4 surcharge.”

“I was in the neighborhood today visiting an old friend and on my way over to the Balboa peninsula I remember that there is an Up In Smoke store on the way!! As anyone who has read my other review of the store that was previously on Bristol was my long time place for all my accessories like hemp wicks, water pipes, papers, and all things smoking related. Today marks the day that I solved the quest to understand the connection of ALL the Up In Smoke stores!!
First, a huge amount of gratitude to Bruce who filled me in on Mike and Murad, who are the original people that own and operate the stores. I used to chat regularly with Mike at the Bristol store and he always was solid on hooking up the great glass!! Bruce and the other guys at the shop are incredibly welcoming and the store is impeccable. They have everything you need, especially if you're like me and "fumble" your "piece" and it breaks at the beach. OR in case you accidentally loose track of your papers and they get "donated" to the sand gods Up In Smoke is right there off of Newport Blvd South just up on the left hand side a little bit past the liquor store also on the left. You can also access the store on the North bound side of Newport Blvd just past 26th Street. There are pay kiosks for some of the street parking so be aware of it so you don't get a ticket.
The store has a great selection of pipes, water pieces, gear for vaping, also a nice selection of cigars should you be in "the mood". All the other accessories like protective bags for traveling with your piece, rolling trays, selection of tobacco for argile/hookah smokers, e juices, etc. Again, location, location, location! Literally steps from the beach, the bar, the restaurants, whatever your destination or reason Up In Smoke is right there for you. Enjoy!!!”
