Came by during business hours on Tuesday and found the store closed. So disappointed as we made the drive out here specifically to go thrift shopping at various locations in town. Not sure if we'll have to chance to make it back.

this store has really beautiful items for a very reasonable price! i also got a couple christian dior and burberry vintage items for just over $30. the young man there was super patient with my toddler daughter, who was playing dress up while i was shopping and he was also very helpful when i had questions. i'm pretty sure we were in there for about an hour. i will be back in a month to see if they have new items. new fav store :)

We visit Newport Beach regularly. It is next to impossible to catch this store open! It's very frustrating...especially when the internet lists it as " Open!"

Waste of time, who puts a sign up on a business that says open 12(ish)-7pm. Either you’re open or you’re not. Very disappointed considering I drove from Temecula to check this store out.

Drove half an hour after work last week to come in and shop. They were closed i was so disappointed because I needed 60s heels for my costume. I decided to try again today. I came an hour after opening assuming at 2 pm they wouldn’t be closed for lunch since they open at 12:30. But They were closed again. Super unprofessional nobody answers the phone and there’s no time when they return. I should have called to make sure they were open before I wasted my gas to drive out. This is my last time trying this shop. It looks like they’re going out of Business since it’s closed during business hours so often.

I had the day off work and I have a reuinion event in 2 days for something I did back in the late 80s/early 90s, so I decided to let go of mom-hood for a couple of hours and treat myself! Yay! The store has a great selection and is beautifully curated but the person working there kind of ruined it (for me, anyways). Maybe if I was a big movie star or a super hot guy or something he'd have helped me put together a fun fit for Sunday? Who knows. After a couple of friendly attempts to spark his desire to help, I just enjoyed my merry little time by myself, and every once in awhile marveled at how, for nearly two hours, this guy found zero interest in his (sole) customer, the store, and I dunno, making someone smile? Anyhow, the selection worked for me and I got what I came for, but it sure took me a long time to figure it out by myself! Sounds like the owner Nicole (or someone like her) may have made this a five-star kind of day!

I've been coming to Swellegant for several years now (we vacation in Newport every couple of years) and I ADORE this shop! The selection is extensive and IMO, is the epitome of a true vintage shop! So many great finds at varying price points, but overall well worth what you pay. For those who've said their prices are high, keep in mind these are vintage pieces that have been curated by an expert eye--if you expect thrift store prices, just go to a thrift shop and do the work yourself ;). This year I SO scored with a pair of 80's Krizia polka dot pants (OMG!), a precious oversized metal bow ring, a totally rare wide-panel seersucker pastel dress and even a 60's silk shantung dress from the clearance rack that I plan on deconstructing to use to make a pattern! This business is vital for those of us who want something special that speaks to our individual tastes. THANK YOU SWELLEGANT, I have nothing but LOVE for you!

I'm on vacation here from out of state and made a note to stop by this place because it looked really cool. I rode my bike with my service animal and I put my mask on went to walk in and the guy behind the counter abruptly says "yeah sorry you can't come in because my dog is here." Not sure if this is the owner or just an employee, I told him ok no problem I would be sure to leave a nasty review online. As I rode my bike back by he tells me to "eat sh*t." So I kindly returned the favor by telling him to go f*** himself because really who treats a potential customer that way and I'm from the east coast we don't play that. Hopefully next time he talks like that to someone it's a man his size not a 5ft female and he gets knocked the hell out.

I love vintage stores! This so fun to have on the peninsula! Great customer service and great selection. You can tell the owner has great taste! They loved my 80's outfit and bought it on the spot. It takes you back in time for sure.
