Nordstrom Newport Beach is not the place to buy make-up! They do a terrible job with inventory control (hence I have received much of my make-up via USPS or UPS because the store needs to order and send to me), its hard to find anyone to help you and they do not stand by their products. I bought the Lancome Definicils waterproof mascara and artliner and now have indelible black stains on two pairs of white pants! I complained to the acting store manger (Arlene), store manager (Terry Penrod) and Regional Manager (Michelle Korb). Michelle said I am the first to complain. I find that hard to believe! I expect that others have experienced permanent clothing stains from these products! If you have, please let Michelle know. Her number is (714) 582-6630.

This is our favorite lunch spot! My friends and I have made it a weekly tradition now. We really, really miss the truffle tater tots. Can you please bring those back?

Not a single employee asked if I needed help or tried to assist while shopping today. This has been going on for years. This is the third time I've tried to shop this location in three years and it's always the same poor service and cannot find sizes on the clothes that are out.

After spending about $4k in the mens dept. I continue to be harrassed by the older sales gentlemen that works behind the counter. Yesterday he was in the pickup section wearing a sweatshirt looking like he just rolled out of bed. The quality of this store is so bad, called the store manager Terry, left a message and havent received a call back. There are many nice places to visit at Fashion Island where they will treat you right, without being rude and racist, avoid Nordstrom.

Women's bathrooms on the lower level are disgusting - they are filthy and without TP and seat covers. This is by far worst that I have ever seen at a Nordstrom's, which usually have clean restrooms. Whoever is in charge should be fired immediately. I will avoid this store.

Joke. Still working but No inventory better shopping online. Took millions in Paycheck Protection Loans at Covid although company said did not need $$ AND STILL LAID OFF TOP MANAGERS and lied to staff about hours n coming back after temporary closure. Collections calls you daily of late on cc payment.

This store is waaay too hot. All of the employees are sweating and customers have made comments how hot it is. The poor guys in shoes were literally dripping sweat. How do they expect us to try things on when its too hot? Horrible

Cosmetics Dept. Review only: David in Cosmetics is rude: I've had the displeasure twice, months apart, of having to deal with David in the cosmetics area. At best, he is curt. At worst, downright rude, even nasty. The first time I encountered him, I complained to another cosmetics employee and she apologized for his snippy, "I've no time for you" attitude. I got the impression, however, that he has seniority in the department. The next time, I went out of my way to avoid David but because he works in the YSL area, I had no choice. I was polite. Again. He was not polite. Again. I asked if a certain product, one recently introduced to the Top Secrets line, had gotten any feedback or if he knew anything about it. His response: "I have not used the product." I asked for a sample of it which he did get for me but afterward he turned his back on me and walked away. There were no other customers. He simply me left there with my mouth open, literally still talking about YSL products; clearly he did not want to converse with me. Wow. I had come in to purchase a particular product, so I simply left and bought it at Neiman Marcus, where the service was warm and friendly.

I'd give this location a 4 star. I have never had a terrible experience here, however I can't say that I've had outstanding experience. I look much younger than I really am and I feel like that is part of the reason I don't get help when shopping here. Browsing around different departments and some of the sales people will ask if I'm looking for anything in particular and after I say no, they vanish! Just because I look 10+ years younger than I am, doesn't mean I don't have money to spend in your store!

Last week, I had the privilege of witnessing a dog take a dump in the main aisle of this so-called department store. Later on, I saw a dog hacking and wheezing on the same floor. I thought the poor thing was going to vomit. I know that the employees are not too happy about their store being a public latrine. They have no say so in the matter.

My review of the store is due to horrible customer service my little brothers and I received while shopping in the store!
We were dressed in T-shirt and shorts and our dress was not in the high fashion I guess required to get helped at this store. we went in to buy an item which would complete the set I bought last week at a different store and we were totally ignored. There was one lady at the cash register who was finishing up with a customer and as soon as she finished with her she walked away from us to help somebody else. Another girl that had been helping somebody else, saw me standing there impatiently and did not talk to us but instead rang up her customer trying to act as we where no there. I then told her we had been standing here for sometime and needed to helped! I then demanded to see a manager! I then walked over to the first girl and interrupted her and asked her to get her manager right away! She then took off to find someone . A Rachel Solorio showed up and after I explained my situation offered no assistance and was totally useless with the exception of getting the card and email of store manager (Lisa Pernod). I then let her know I would be following up with the store manager as well as Filling a complaint and sending out this yelp review. As I was standing in the store checking in on Yelp. a nice lady from one of the cosmetic companies came and asked me if there's anything that she could do. I explained what had happened snd she apologized for their actions and that she we a visiting cosmetic rep but would try to help. I let her know that appreciated her asking but I know that and she didn't represent the store and that at this point there was nothing that she could do to help. I then thanked her.
My conclusion from our experience is that I guess there must be a dress code that I missed when to came in at THIS Nordstrom to shop! I spent over $500 last week at the Spectrum store which was busier and they gave me exceptional service and we where dressed similar. The Irvine Company should know That Nordstrom at FASHION ISLAND uses that name quite literally, in that if you're not dressed up in the latest fashion, don't visit them because they're not going to help you!
I went next door to Bloomingdales and was greeted and asked if I needed help in 1 min 26 (timed) unfortunately, they did not have what I was looking for. I ended up finding a similar item it at Barnes and Noble for less!

Such a bad customer service .. needed to buy eye cream they act like I am getting free from them .. I had good amount of money to spend instead I went to the Macy's .. their service is better

BEYOND rude. I am a loyal Nordstrom shopper and went in today with a girlfriend ready to purchase a new pair of shades. Just as we arrived in front of the sunglasses and I tried a pair on, a female employee approached us from behind and asked "is there something you're looking for?" No, greeting, not even walking up to us where we could see her face before beginning to address us. I responded that I was looking for a new pair of shades as I removed the pair that I had tried on. She immediately said "you can set those on the table over there, they need to be sanitized." I tried to hand them to her and she pointed to the table "just put them over there." WOW. Really? I went to try on another pair and she walked off, not even asking if she could actually HELP ME with something. Customer service FAIL.
First of all you didn't even greet me-- I take it you saw me trying on shades and walked up to point out that they would need to be sanitized. You were not trying to be helpful, you did not offer to take an sanitize them, nothing. I walked out and will not be back. Customer service is key, this employee needs a lesson in how to treat customers, STAT.

Beautiful store and friendly employees with masks. At the entrance the sign clearly states masks required to enter store. But customers either pull their mask completely down or the "under the nose" half on becomes the normal. My wife and I did not feel safe as several other customers expressed the same feeling. We left the store.
