Most of the girls working here - including the awful store manager - are the opposite of good customer service. Not sure if they’re just upset that they’re working on a Saturday and not at the beach but just a consistently really, really bad customer experience at this location. Peninsula crew is solid, helpful, happy. CdM crew is just… get help. Lol. Side note: the obnoxiously awful store manager who’s probably mad she’s forever alone is just a disaster. Probably why the rest of her crew is relatively bad. But she’s a special kind of hopeless.

Store extremely cluttered and hard to shop in. Also, pudgy blonde girl at front named "Kendra" was extremely rude to me while she was checking me out. Total b*tch.

Worst customer service. Over all incompetence and an absence of customer service and at Jacks on Avocado.Rude, not helpful at all, and overcharged me in error. Double check your receipts!Charged me for a hat priced at $30 in error for $187.00. Had to ask to get a refund (without an apology) and only after I checked my receipt.Six employees chatting behind the front desk. After I asked for help, employee would not come over to me answer inventory questions. Just talked at be from behind the counter with about 5 other employees. Every question was like I was bothering them.Junior Guard uniform questions). Employee said they didn’t have a zip jacket option (I found one in the racks on my own). Employee said they never had long sleeve shirts for JGs (not true - I bought one last year). I asked when they might expect the backpacks which they are out of, they said they have no idea. Absolutely no help. And didn’t care to know the correct answers to my questions.I had to climb up on a ladder to get the fins myself in the back. All workers were talking at the front counter.I asked if all the dressing rooms were full. Employee said “yes” without checking. Then my son noticed no one in the first room after we waited 5 minutes.Saw another dad come in - said his son’s wetsuit ripped after one day at surf camp. Manager said to call the company - it’s not their problem to deal with faulty inventory.Over all incompetence and an absence of customer service and at Jacks.

Awesome selection and nice employees! Store is packed with merchandise but clean and easy to navigate through. And in case you cant find something just ask someone!

My son loves to surf and enjoys Jacks for clothing style. Our family has spent our share of $$ there.Took him in today to buy 3 pair pants and a belt. Total cost was around $ 240.When checking out we realized we didn’t have student / ASB ID for discount.I relayed he was CDM student and been here past for discount.Cashier and others shared no go on discount unless had card.Can’t share how much this annoys me.They could get a win in my view by “ trusting “ me that I am a honest person and my exception this time and say be sure to remember next time.Instead I am taking time to write a review and walked away a negative view on how they do things.I realize we could have driven back to the house and get card to go back for discount.It is the principle of the thing and I never want to minimize the $ 40-50 savings we would have had.My son said it would have been a pair of shoes w that savings.Local company who benefits greatly from community and can’t see ti trust that I am an honest person and effectively implies we are not to be trusted or willing to inconvenience me by having to drive home get card.

Terrible customer service by the 4 girls up front. Sad to see how the workers could care less about their jobs! I found them to outright rude. I've always enjoyed shopping at Jack's but the employees have forced me to find a new local shop. Management should really focus on who they hire at this location.

This review is strictly for customer service- I just left the store (2:11 pm - receipt has "CA Training" under cashier). I made purchases for lifeguard shirt & shorts. There were no signs there was one line so I stood in line. While I thought I was next in line the cashier announced "next in line". This cashier made eye contact yet didn't tell there was one line - clearly she didn't think I was worth helping. No apologies when it was our turn. Either she was clueless or could care less. I certain it's the latter.

What a awesome store, with wonderful ready to help employees. Joe was especially helpful finding everything I needed and more. Jacks Surfboards will always be my one stop surf shop.

Any information I could find said this location closed at 8pm. The store looked open with lights on, customers shopping, and the door open. I walked into the store just after 7pm and an associate told me they were closed, he said it as if I should have known.... But how could I have known...? I would suggest this business update their store hours and invest in a closed sign or something.
