Owner was extremely knowledgeable and helpful in getting us set up for a day of fishing. He was also working on a bamboo fishing rod at the time and showed the kids each step he was taking. Will definitely go back.

Bought two "Indiana Jones" safari hats less than 6 months ago, one of which had a broken strap clip, so it could not be tightened around your neck. Took the hat back to the shop to fix/replace and was told by the owner that there was nothing he could or would do to fix the defective part, replace the hat or call the distributor for the part and/or new hat. Basically he could care less. We, as JD's customers, had to contact the distributor who eventually sent us a brand new hat within two weeks. The Distributor said that JD's, as the retailer, could have, and should have taken care of this matter for us. As a result of their poor customer service, we will no longer buy from this retailer on Balboa Island.

The owner is very nice and helpful. I ran an errand for a friend to pick up some squid bait. I came across several types and sizes of squid, and the owner knew exactly which my friend was looking for. Prices are alright but decent for the location.
