Penny could not have been ruder about class this morning. The app did not show the class as full when I booked and I showed up to the studio to find I was on the waitlist. She was not kind at all about the situation. As a fellow instructor I was super unimpressed with how she handled things….

I recently attended Core Power Yoga for the first time, taking advantage of their free trial offer. I thoroughly enjoyed the yoga class I participated in that morning; the instructor was fantastic, and the atmosphere was welcoming. However, I left the studio with a rather negative impression due to my interaction with the manager, Sarah. I found her to be dismissive, snobbish, and, frankly, rude. This experience left me with the feeling that my presence as a newcomer was not valued. Regrettably, because of this encounter, I have decided not to return to Core Power Yoga and will explore other options for my yoga practice.

Great studio, but even the "Hot" fusion class isn't really hot.

Love this CPY! I've been to 5-6 locations over the years but I consider Fashion Island my home studio. Easy parking and fantastic included locks for the lockers are nice side benefits. The manager here is very good. Sarah went way out of her way to correctly answer a question about a pose taking me into a room before a class to correctly demonstrate which was amazing! I like a lot of the teachers here and think you need to try a bunch of classes to see who you like best and fits your needs. I like a pretty intense C2 myself and have learned my favorites from trial and error. CorePower tends to be more of a workout than maybe traditional yoga but that works for me. The app is easy to use to book classes. I still go to Irvine Jamboree and Tustin for specific excellent teachers that are worth the drive but Newport Beach is overall awesome and I love having a membership and the ability to take whenever I want!

I have an all access membership but I'm primarily taking classes at this fashion island location, sometimes at the jamboree location. This facility is beautiful and pretty spacious too! The teachers are all so friendly and it's just a good vibe. I love the wide range of class types available and every instructor has their own unique customized sequence. The heat is through infrared so my only complaint is the rooms don't get hot enough during the hot power fusion yoga. Sometimes you just want that extra detoxifying heat. Wish they had extra heaters for select classes. But overall I think this place is a gem, with great instructors, nice bathroom and yoga rooms!

Wow! I am so impressed with this CorePower Studio. I believe it's one of the newer ones in Orange County, but I absolutely love the fact that there are locks on the lockers in the locker room. At other locations a manual lock is needed and these ones are built in! Love the convenience. I took a Yoga Sculpt class with a friend and it was such a great workout. It was definitely high intensity and combined mobility workouts with dumbbell exercises. Theres a few different class types at Corepower, you'll find a variety of classes ranging from low intensity (stretch classes), to high intensity fusion classes. Big fan of all of the above! This studio is super clean and well maintained. I'm a big fan!

My second to least-favorite OC Corepower studio. The setup of the rooms is awkward, being that this is a new studio it's disappointing to see how poorly it's laid out.I may just have bad luck, but I've had 2 good instructors out of the 7 that I've had at this location - and one of them primarily teaches at another studio. Plus points for the combination lockers

One of the worst exercise classes I've ever experienced. Took the 930am sculpt class. I love a hot yoga/ hiit/ sculpt class. I love being challenged and pushed to my mental and physical limits. But this teacher barks illogical / irresponsible orders and spiritual nonesense. He never did the exercises with us yet expected us to know each one. He didn't teach or guide at all, I learned nothing. Though I did sweat.. and I ended up doing moves on my own... so I didn't come out of the class as a total loss... but overall, I recommend finding a place with a knowledgeable and dedicated teacher. Not an obnoxious and ignorant hype man.

The only place I practice yoga I have tried many studios around Newport and once I found CorePower, I signed up for a membership and haven't looked back. I LOVE CPY! So many fun, challenging classes. I love their flow class and strength. The teachers here are absolutely amazing. I've never been to a class that I didn't love the instructor. They are all so knowledgeable and well spoken and I always feel balanced after leaving. The fashion island location is clean and front desk staff is super friendly. Some of my fav teachers are Amanda A, Yu, Penny, and Kimya. But seriously love them ALLLL. 10/10. Love this studio.

I have been going to Core Power Yoga for years. And I appreciate how amazing and kind all of the instructors are in Huntington Beach. I just moved to Newport beach, So I need to go to Core Power Yoga Newport Beach. And I had the worst experience with the instructor Sara Rae Chavez. For the record I never thought I would complain about instructors. But this lady she is really really mean and very bitchy--I was late for a min, for the fact, the door was open, but she couldn't even let me get into the class only because I was late for a minute. She could have give me a grace, but she decided not to because that's who she is and how mean and unkind human she is. In addition, It's not like Newport Beach has a lot of classes throughout the day. if I couldn't make the 9:30 AM class, then I have to go to 4 PM which I work during the time. If it was Huntinhton Beach I could have let it go because there are a lot of classes throughout the day, but I couldn't let it go because my time is very valuable and obviously Sara Rae chives care less about it. Therefore, I canceled the membership sorry Sarah!!!!!! I don't feel good about canceling my membership, but I had to because of the experience I had with Sarah Rae!!!!

I love the location and the studio is small but cute. I appreciate the energy of the instructors. Try them out, they are growing. Just as they were preparing to open the studio, covid happen. Go help build the studio up and bring your good energy. Namaste

Love it here! The facility is so clean and the teachers are amazing. I’ve been going for a month now and I swear I’m already seeing results in my body. They mandate masks for the health and safety of everyone and it’s hard to wear during “hot yoga” but every class I have been to, everyone follows the rules and the teachers reminded us it was mandatory ☺️

I am kind of on the fence about CPY, there are some things I love and other things that stand in the way of me signing up for the all-access membership (I believe this used to be referred to as their black tag membership). This Fashion Island location is much like the other CPY studios I've been to across California. The corporate vibe makes them all kind of blend together and seem the same. I didn't like the way one of the walls in the studio I practiced in was all windows. Like a storefront at the mall, it was like a makeshift wall that was bolted together. I think it's letting out some of the hot air and it doesn't have a yoga studio vibe. The instructor in my sculpt class this past Monday was really mediocre, she really did not seem like she wanted to be there. She walks in and asks the class how everyone is doing, and when nobody responded she said "cool!" In a strange and condescending tone. It made me chuckle. The positive notes are that parking has been a breeze each time I've gone, everyone there is friendly and there are classes at all times throughout the day! The quality of the instructors at CPY aren't great and I think that has to do with their business model. They pay the instructors very little and they require them to fork out thousands for their teacher training from their own pockets. I have yet to run into an instructor at any of the locations that seemed to have any traditional yoga training or background. It's very aerobics based and not many zen vibes are flowing here. I still enjoy the classes even though they become incredibly predictable and even boring at times.
