This review is for the Newport branch ... which seems to think it's some sort of investment boutique for billionaires and not just another branch of a multi-service bank. Charles Schwab is a great company, albeit one that's struggling to make it thru this interest rates crisis. But the Newport branch management needs to take the pretension down a few notches and up its customer service game.

This branch and as a whole this company has there stuff together, they alway answer quickly and are amenable to most everything I have ever asked of them. If your looking for a place to park capital or just day trade I highly recommend CS and this branch.Thanks CS staff.

Received paperwork from Charles Schwab to fill regarding retirement account, they had a number to call, I called the number as I had a question, I get transferred 8 times, each time they verify me and ask me what the issue is and then they say let me transfer you to the correct department...8 times..can anyone believe that....8 times and guess what... number 8 was still not the correct department....I was on the phone for over 1 hour....I had a severe headache and probably my blood pressure was up What a shitty shitty shitty service, do they really have a retirement department ?? or they just keep transferring you till you give up..go crazy or fall dead? Stay away from Charles Schwab (they recently bought Ameritrade) stay away .from both..such shitty service does not belong in America or anywhere else

My advisor, Adam Zedan, and the staff up front have been wonderful. I'm very pleased with the folks in this office and the overall Schwab investment platform. Love the research and information they provide while allowing me to call the shots.

I wish yelp had 0 star review. I had been their customer for almost 2 years. Full service to self service options. Bc of poor performance, poor customer service and bad Schwab app, I wanted to close my accounts including LOC called PAL to move all to my new brokerage company. It has been over 2.5 weeks and many attempts they still didn't close my account and blocking my money for stupid reasons. Manager Shane is absolutely helpless and I do not believe he is helping to expedite as he many times promises. Stay away from this location yelp community. They always produce a lie to hide behind covid and run you up to hill. When you call your personal banker at this location, he claims that I have to call them directly he can't help with closures. They don't even have a customer retain dept persons to call me. Bc they know they screwed up. Poor customer service even you have high $$ investments or premier accounts. As I am writing this review I have been on hold with their PAL dept over 48 min...!

I had an excellent experience with this office in Newport Beach. The woman at the front desk was extremely nice and helpful. I did not catch her name, but she made a great first impression! I attended their "Make the Most Out of Schwab.com" workshop, hosted by Michael Chipperfield. It was basic enough for people at all levels of investment knowledge to follow. He walked us through things like reviewing your portfolio performance and how to make changes if it's out of balance, how to do your research via the website tools to screen and filter ratings, how to set up different types of trades for buying/selling and much more. He answered all questions and was extremely knowledgeable. Next, I was accommodated by a last minute appointment with Jeff Jen immediately following the workshop. I had lots of questions about my current portfolio and needed guidance on what adjustments I should make. He spent over 2 hours with me, walking me through everything thoroughly and answered all of my questions. I left their office feeling confident and knowledgeable enough to make my decisions. Jeff had also asked Jared Landis to help me with setting up some automation for my account transfers because the tool had some limitations to what I wanted to accomplish. Jared has since followed up with me after he found the solution to suit my needs. The team at this office has been nothing but impressive to me with how helpful they have been. Many thanks!

Really awesome customer service. I am a young adult trying to sell stock for the first time in my life and went in with my grandmother. The professional that helped us was named Tricia N., and she was so helpful, kind and thorough that I would recommend everyone to ask for her. I went in and was immediately greeted warmly by her. After explaining my situation and what I needed to do she got to work. Tricia explained everything in a way that was easy to understand and the best part was her honesty. She sat on line with a representative on my behalf, printed out all the documents I needed and explained exactly what I needed to do in order to sell my stocks in the most efficient and profitable way for me. Thank you so much Tricia, your honesty and excellent service will not go unnoticed. I will recommend everyone I know, and everyone reading this review to ask for her by name. You are the best!

A++, would bank again. Trisha at the front desk was amazing. I just set up one account and slightly modified another and she streamlined the whole process for me. Very friendly and very business. I feel like I have all the information I need, and everything is set up right.

Schwab BANK is THE BEST. Ok, first off, this review is NOT for this location. I've never been to a single location because Schwab Bank is SO AWESOME on the phone / web. But I gotta put the review somewhere. First off, if you're with B of A, Wells Fargo, Chase or even a Credit Union..... Change banks immediately! Major banks are a rip off and my credit union is good, but very limited for online access, while traveling, etc. Although, credit unions may be better for auto loans / mortgages. OK, why is Schwab the best? 1) CUSTOMER SERVICE. First time I called because I was having trouble opening a checking account (I'd heard they were the best bank for people who lived / traveled abroad). The guy was AWESOME. He spent about 30 minutes discussing things with me, and was unable to open the account, but explained why and even how I could work around the problem (although maybe he wasn't supposed to tell me that). Finally, he concluded the call with this, "Well, sorry we could open an account for you today, but I certainly hope you'll consider us in the future. And feel free to call us if you have any questions about banking, money while traveling, or anything at all. Even though you're not a customer, we'd love to help you in any way we can." Seriously? You want me to call you with any money questions even though I'm not a customer? Yup, that's exactly what he was offering: I should consider them my go-to for financial questions. Awesome, already wanted the account, now I won't consider anyone else. 2) FLEXIBLE. I wanted to buy a car while in Thailand for 6 months. No problem, to save me money / time / hassle on wire transfers, they'll just up my daily ATM withdrawal limit to $5,000 for a week. And since all ATM fees are refunded, I just paid the exchange rate. Needed $11k in cash for another car purchase in the US - no problem, up the ATM limit again. Or overnight a cashiers check (not available at locations). Or give me a one day high limit for my debit card. Or do a wire transfer since EFT takes a few days to clear. Basically, I call, I get a real person, and they give me OPTIONS, usually without fees. 3) NO FEES. Okay, they actually do have standard $20 charge for incoming wire transfers and $10 for the cashier's check.... But who doesn't?! The fees are minimal and often waived / worked around. ATM fees refunded. Never been charged for ANYTHING unexpectedly. 4) ABOVE AND BEYOND. I had one automatic payment that was about to set me negative by $17 because an incoming wire transfer hadn't cleared. THEY contacted me about it, saw my account had a good record, and credit my account with $17. And they never took it back. Meaning, instead of charging me for a possible over-limit withdrawal, they actually GAVE me the money to cover it. Of course, if they ever decide to take their $17 back, I have no complaints. Seriously - they gave me (or temporarily lent) the money to cover my mistake. Any other bank would have charged $25 to lend me $17... or simply rejected the automatic withdrawal and caused another set of headaches and fees. Conclusion I also use a few other services (investments, etc), but am mainly reviewing the BANKING services here. The are number one, bar none. I've tried several major institutions (who charge too many fees and act like they're doing you a favor) and minor ones (who don't have the 24hr service & excellent web / mobile platforms)... Charles Schwab Bank is so far ahead of the competition that they truly are in a class of their own. I'm never leaving - Schwab for life.
