Doctor C is the most kind and helpful doctor I’ve ever gone to for myself or my pets. I can’t tell you how amazing this team is. Anytime we’re having an emergency — they take amazing care of our animals.

I just moved to the area and my baby had an emergency. I had a matter of minutes to find an emergency vet - I probably should have done this when I moved here - and luckily I found this vet and I saw the great reviews. I rushed her there and called on my way so that they’d be ready. They rushed out to get her help right away. They took great care of her and the staff was so kind and compassionate. I highly recommend this vet!

Everything about this place is great. The staff and doctors are always available and willing to answer your questions. They are compassionate and understand you're going through a difficult time. They try to take care of you as quickly as possible and inform you of what's going on and give you choices. I couldn't be happier with this place. I believe the doctors and staff truly care about your pet.

Dr.Kim and all of the nursing staff at Central Orange County are absolutely amazing. I get emotional thinking about how well they have taken care of my dog Blaize. I live in N.Hollywood and when my dog broke his wrist and needed surgery I couldn’t find anyone in my area to see him within 5+ days (not to mention the 1st ER we went to made him wait in pain for over 3 hours while we both cried, and disregarded us all together.) I started to call all emergency hospitals in Southern California and when I called COCAH they were so compassionate and listened to all of my needs. I was able to bring Blaize in the next morning and Dr.Kim performed his surgery (and neutered him) that same evening. All of the staff are so kind, even my shy baby loves them. I can’t thank them enough for taking care of us.

These people are angels. 3 years ago, they saved my puppy's life after a possible sepsis infection, and today, took me in early before they were open to help with a severe allergic reaction to my same pup. My dog seems to only get sick when our regular vet is closed, of course, and these guys have always been to the rescue. The staff is kind, honest, and up front about their findings, and have been a godsend in really stressful times. Below are the before and afters of my puppy tonight, all within the span of 1 hour. Thank you!!!

Very polite and nice however their business model leaves much to be desired. It's 2023 and we are still not allowed into basic examinations with our pets. I cannot fathom a logical reason this exists outside of covid. To some of us it feels like sending a child to the pediatrician alone, it just doesn't feel right at all. They told me 1-3 hours for examination and possible treatment. You expect people that love their dogs to just sit around for 1-3 hours completely oblivious as to how their beloved pet is doing behind closed doors? Ridiculous... It honestly seems like far more work for the staff to manage patients how they are rather than the more traditional approach. And again, I cannot think of a benefit for any party involved. I had to call and ask them to bring my dog out. The entire situation seemed completely off. Please don't trust people just because they are doctors or professionals in their field. If it doesn't feel right, it probably isn't.

Note that this review is for our visit around September 2020:Poor communication between the doctors and techs and with us as the pet owners that led us to wait outside and for our dog to sit inside with no update and no assessment done for 3 hours. Our schnauzer was either stung or bitten by something that caused her entire paw to turn red and swollen like a ball. I called COCEAH beforehand to explain the situation to see if we could bring her in within the next 5-10 minutes. They told us yes, bring her in.The vet tech who received her and took down our information told us she could get a steroid injection first to relieve the symptoms while she'd wait for a vet to see her. After that we didn't hear anything else for over an hour while we saw other owners come and go. We then called once each hour for the next two hours for a status update. First time we were told that she'd be next; the second time they told us they didn't know when she was going to be seen. I figured because it's an after hours clinic it's likely that there are other cases ahead and gave it some more time. However by the 3rd hour when we called for a status update, the tech told us that she was finally going on the exam table and tried to explain the triage situation that they were prioritizing more critical cases (which I understand). However, after that another 40 minutes passed and we didn't hear anything again so we called, again. They told us the vet would come out now, who basically said they couldn't find anything wrong with her, and we found out nothing was ever done for our dog while she sat inside for 3 whole hours by herself, when she initially went in with her paw swollen as a ball. Whatever happened, thankfully the swelling went down and she was ultimately ok in the end, but the communication on part of the clinic staff/vet as well as how they managed our case overall was absolutely unacceptable. It's not acceptable to advise a potential patient to come in when you don't have the capacity to see them, because they could have otherwise gone to another ER vet and actually be seen . It's not acceptable to leave a patient sitting there for 3 hours, no matter how "low priority" their situation is, without any communication to their owners, who could have used that information to decide whether or not they wanted to continue to wait for their fur baby to be seen. The amount of worry and anguish we felt for those 3 hours after our dog went inside was unimaginable. We were so relieved that our dog was ok in the end, but I would not trust bringing my fur baby here again.

My dog bloated and they sent us away saying he hadn’t. After my regular vet opened they confirmed he had bloat, but it was Sunday and didn’t have a surgeon available so they sent me back here where they finally did surgery. The woman at the desk in the morning was very rude and uncaring. The only reason I gave them three stars was for the surgeon and the care they gave him after the surgery. Blue Pearl is better.

Honestly idk how people are giving this such high reviews, maybe I just had a bad experience, but having a bad experience in an emergency situation isn't something anyone wants. We took our 1 year old cat in for choking at like 3am, which was really scary for us. We got in fast which was great but the problem is they were so adamant about us knowing what he ate to start choking, which none of us had a clue. They like made us decide a diagnosis and then proceed with that assumption. Which at the time, a piece of string was our guess. They tried to induce vomiting without any further looking, or suggestion for x rays. WHICH TURNS OUT HE NEEDED BECAUSE WHAT HE ATE WAS A NEEDLE THAT WAS LODGED IN HIS THROAT. He didn't vomit, so they just sent us back home. We wasted $300! Plus, they didn't send us home with any medication. It wasn't until I noticed the next day a very obvious lump in his throat which I'm baffled they were able to miss.

This review is long over due. I came here late one night/morning after my dog was acting strange. They had a minimal wait time and took my dog in fairly quick. I had to wait for about 30 mins in the car while they evaluated him inside. I got a call with an update and the doc had me come in to explain a little more throughly. My dog had to stay over night and initially I was told I'd have go pick him up and move him to another facility after 8 am, because they are an after hours only facility. However that morning, they called me and let me know one of their vets would be onsite all day, and I could keep my dog there under observation. My dog was able to recover enough to be released late that night (after staying about 18 hours) there. I was provided info for after care and they sent all the info to my main vet. The prices were fair for the emergency care and all the vets and techs I talked to had great bed side manner. Hopefully I won't have to be back, but if there is an emergency, I will bring my dog here.

My husband and I rushed our pup to COCEAH a few weeks ago after he had a seizure. Nothing is more emotional or stressful for a pet parent than ER care for your fur baby.My husband and I were so nervous when they were consulting with the doctor and putting together a treatment plan and pricing. Like many others, we’re currently struggling financially and were super concerned we weren’t going to be able to afford care for our 4 legged baby.We were sooooo relieved when the vet tech came out and showed us the proposed course of testing and treatment. Fearing the estimate would be in the thousands considering it’s an ER facility, our pup is 130lbs and several tests were on the proposed treatment plan (including imaging) we were shocked when the price wasn’t even close to $1,000.The vet and staff were all so caring and comforting. Our boy is a rescue with a traumatic past and doesn’t like being separated from mom & dad, especially in new or unfamiliar environments. The vet was incredibly thorough in reviewing all the test results and questions we had. Our big baby was brought back into the room and seemed comfortable and at ease. This is definitely the first place I would tell ANY pet parent to consider in an emergency. They are open all night from 8pm - 6am weeknights and 24 hours on weekends. The staff is loving towards both the pet and pet parents and the doctors are all extremely knowledgeable and very helpful. Both patient and parents went home and were able to rest peacefully after leaving the hospital.

They did a great job! And they were quick to see us. Theydid a mild sedation on our pup & we were still in and out faster than expected in this type of situation. Also Paid close attention to detail to find & correctly treat the issue
