We love Primeros Pasos! My kids have been coming here since they were potty trained, a few months before they turned 3. I initially decided to send my kids here because my friends sent their kids here and only had glowing things to say about it, and I'm so glad I followed suit! My kids took some time to warm up to going to school (there was def crying) and they had a number of potty accidents at school, but the maestras/teachers were very patient and kind. Everyone there is wonderful, caring, and experienced. The owner, Maestra Ana, is on top of everything, helpful, and communicative.
The school is a Spanish immersion school which i was drawn to. My kids have learned a lot of Spanish since they started, and they've learned so much, and have fun doing it. They have circle time, a playground in back, and a great system in place. They also provide breakfast, lunch, and snacks. The environment is welcoming, and I feel confident that my kids are safe and in an environment where they will thrive. They also post regular photos and videos of your kids in a school app so that you can see how your kids are doing throughout the day. That's been great for me since I was a bit concerned about their transition from home to a preschool.
Also, if you're planning for your kids to joint the dual immersion program at Von Renner, then having them start at Primeros Pasos is great idea to give them a head start. They may also be labeled as bilingual by the time they test for Von renner, and have a better chance of getting in. I heard the dual immersion program is very competitive. The TK program at school is only in English, so that's something else to consider. Lastly, the school accepts CAPP, which is a program by the county that helps with the cost of care, so be sure to ask Ana about it if cost is an issue - because there's help if it is.

I, very hesitantly, enrolled my 4- year old child at Primeros Pasos in the beginning of the 2022-2023 year. She was demonstrating extreme anxiety due to a loss in the family and we wanted to expose her to “school life” sooner rather than later. Most importantly, we wanted to expose her to this in a nurturing environment and after much research, Primeros Pasos seemed like a good choice. Even though it was definitely a difficult journey for our family, especially my little one, I am so glad we did. The teachers had so much patience with us. Their communication was the best; they were transparent about the difficult days, but supportive and hopeful for future days to come. They provided pictures on a daily basis and were very accessible; amazing for a first time parent separating from her child for the first time! They were reasonably accommodating when necessary. In the end, my daughter LOVES going to school. She loves her teachers and friends. She looks forward to the days she attends and misses school the days she cannot go. Most importantly, she feels safe when she goes and I’m so grateful for the environment Primeros Pasos has created. *Bonus* She’s officially bilingual thanks to the Spanish exposure and encouragement!

This is a great preschool that prepares children to transition to grade school. I highly recommend this preschool to any parent who is willing to see their children grow. The teachers are so great with kids, they provide home cooked meals and the children learn in a bilingual setting. Honestly, the best preschool!

My son attended Primeros Pasos Preschool for the 2021-2022 school year. During his time there he was always excited to attend school and thrilled to tell me how his day went when he was done for the day.Prior to attending, my son was not well versed in Spanish by any means, and I was previously concerned if he would understand, but I can now say my concerns were nothing to be worried about in the first place. The teachers take the time to communicate in Spanish AND English. My son who did not speak Spanish prior to attending can say his ABC's', count, and say several sentences in Spanish. All the teachers were great and provided photos uploaded on their preschool app while your child is at school. So it was nice to be updated and see how your child's day is going ?Also, Maestra Ana, is very quick to respond if you need to get in contact with her, which I appreciated.Overall, I am very pleased with our experience at Primeros Pasos. They treated my son very well and I am very appreciative of that.I also plan on having my daughter attend when she turns 3 as well ☺Super happy with everything here and we will be coming back!

I highly recommend this school for anyone looking for quality education for their 3-5 year olds. I have 3 children 2 of whom have gone to State Preschools/Head Starts and other private Christian Pre-Schools and Primeros Pasos by far has been the best! My 5 year old can count to 100 in English and Spanish, knows many animals in both languages, has began to add numbers and knows a great deal of Spanish. The Teachers are amazing and so hands on. My daughter absolutely loves her “Maestras”. The food is also fresh and according to my 5 year old, delicious! I wish my other 2 had gone to Primeros Pasos as well.

I sent my daughter to Primeros Pasos this year (2021-2022) and let me tell you it was the best decision I ever made for her education. I originally choose this school because of the dual language. She has learned so much Spanish in such small amount of time during these difficult times. Also, I loved how they were greeted every single morning with a hug, and also taught to wash your hands before meals and after the restroom. The children also get home cooked meals which is amazing. This school transition the students for grade school is such a fun and educational environment. There is so many amazing factors to this preschool so if you are looking for a preschool for 3-5 years, I would definitely recommend this one you will not REGRET it.

This is a wonderful bilingual preschool!!! Both of my kids attended and loved coming to school every day! They grew so much in vocabulary, numbers, letters, andplaying with other kids in both Spanish and English! These teachers are wonderful and I know during the pandemic many parents could feel uneasy about sending their child to school, especially small children because their bodies are getting accustomed to new germs, but these ladies handled it so professionally, the school was so clean, there was great communication and protocal! I would give them more than 5 stars if I could!

I cannot begin to express how grateful and appreciative I am with Primeros Pasos. My son attended the school for two years. During these uncertain times of Covid Primeros Pasos did an amazing job keeping the children safe and parents well-informed. My son and other children I witnessed during drop off and pick up were very happy to attend. They also provide a positive atmosphere. As when the children would arrive the children who are already there would greet them by their name and welcome them in. My son was struggling a little during the time there and the teachers worked diligently with him to get him caught up. My favorite part was receiving almost on a daily basis pictures of him doing activities at Primeros Pasos.

I can not say enough good things about this school. My daughter didn't know ANY Spanish at all, since we speak English at home. She came home singing everything, and absolutely loving the language. Her teachers are AMAZING, she loves her teachers so much that she has asked to see them during summer break. This school is affordable, amazing staff, and I wish I knew about it sooner. She was only there a year, and I wish she had gone sooner. We will miss everyone there. I HIGHLY recommend this school!

My son, Noah spent 2 years at Primeros Pasos. He loved every day at school. It is clean, fun, colorful, and so educational. My son can hold a conversation in Spanish, and we don't speak Spanish at all at home. He knows all of his numbers to 100 in English and Spanish, he can sound out simple words and can write every letter. All before starting kindergarten. He loves all of the teachers and staff, and never had a bad day! This is by far the best preschool in Newman!

When I started my daughter here a year and half ago, I was primarily interested in the bilingual language she would learn at Primeros Pasos, and also to give her something to do vs staying home with me. So I transferred her from one daycare to this one. I had no idea that on the first day my daughter would transition from one childcare center to this one so easily. At her other school, it was a lot of fun for her but pretty chaotic, primary focus was playtime. On the first day at Primeros Pasos I immediately noticed, the kids were sitting, listening and participating in circle time and the teacher had their attention. Other times, during free play while waiting to be picked up, kids played politely and all looked so happy to be there. Coming from another environment complete opposite of this, I was shocked to see so much order going on with so many little ones. That alone impressed me. But then....my daughter started learning Spanish, she was singing songs in English, Spanish and using sign language. She was taught numbers, letters and simple basic math problem solving. While here my daughter learned empathy, how to share and play, and how to express herself using words, (vs fighting or arguing) when something is not right. All taught to her from the Director and her staff. My daughter graduated from here, and her learning curve was so much greater than I had ever anticipated. I walked away assured I had paid for quality care, in a positive learning environment. The teachers prepare the children for kindergarten, by spending part of their day in a classroom atmosphere (once they show they are ready to move into that phase) each younger child learning from the older pre-k kids. I was just blown away at Maestra Anna's program. Primeros Pasos' program is carefully and thoughtfully put together. After learning her educational background and experience, I felt assured I had left my daughter in good hands. The staff are ALL WONDERFUL, kind and very caring to the children. My daughter will miss her school, her favorite place to be. This center was so worth the time, I wish I could keep her under Maestra Anna's program through high school. Wishful thinking. If you are a parent who is looking to give your child a headstart in a fun environment, there is no better place than Primeros Pasos.
