Great place that's kinda hidden gem in Newcastle. Excellent workout and good training if you like to box. Coaches there are good too. Greg the owner is good at what he does, as well as Mike and Julie!

I've known Coach Gregg since he was a skinny, but inshape kid getting ready to fight Olympic Champion Mike Simms in the pros. Greg is fundamentally sound, and his fight team spars my fight team all of the time. Good place to train.

Been at this gym now for 3 weeks and so far I am enjoying it. Each class is 1.5hr long and you're pretty much working the whole time. Definitely get a good workout each class. The coaches are knowledgeable and everyone at the gym have been nice and friendly which I appreciate so much.

I highly recommend this boxing gym. It offers boxing for fitness as well as a place to grow as a true boxer if that is what you're driving for. Not only was I treated with the utmost respect as a woman in this gym, I was also welcomed with open arms throughout an entire pregnancy! These amazing coaches even hosted a baby shower for me!

This is a great gym, there is an awesome level of competition while still still maintaining a culture of camaraderie and teamwork. What also is impressive about this gym, is it appeals to people with all types of goals while simultaneously promoting the importance of fundamentals and hard work. My experience with the coaching staff has been great, they care about teaching correctly and have the caliber of coaches to do so. I'd recommend Newcastle Boxing to anyone looking to grow and learn.

Ringside gym is a great place to be a part of and I've met some incredibly inspiring people since I've been a member. I feel very lucky to have stumbled across a gym in which everybody is positive and motivated to work hard and push themselves, regardless of their fitness/boxing level. The coach and his staff provide a wealth of training knowledge which stems from real world competition and years of experience. The gym has been a fixture in Newcastle for 20+ years and this doesn't happen by accident. If you are looking for a great gym that doesn't get boring. I highly recommend Ringside in Newcastle.

The owner is the rudest, sexist, most unprofessional person I have ever met in my life.As a young woman, 19, I was belittled and ridiculed from day 1.At first I thought this was a mental test to push me since I was a beginner in boxing.Soon, I realized that this was something he only did to women, my sister included. The gym was super crowded due to the kid's boxing class running late. The owner put us in the boxing ring to warm up.They put two puzzle piece mats together and placed them on top of the boxing ring floor. As I jump roped, my foot hit the side of the mat and turned my ankle 90° degrees. This injury resulted in a grade 2 sprain.Since they were liable for my injury, I asked that they refund the portion of my monthly dues.I didn't think this was unreasonable, but a responsibility they had to keep their customer's safe. My email: Dear Greg and Jaime, I apologize for the lateness of this response.I get a lot of wrong numbers and I had forgotten to save your number into my phone. In regards to extending my membership for after my ankle heals, I would still not be able to use it.I will be moving out of state by then. My ankle, though you expressed your disbelief at the severity of the injury, is a grade two sprain that takes 4-6 weeks to heal.If you doubt how far my ankle bent, you can ask the woman who was in the ring jump roping with me.At the time, my ankle was in shock, and I was too focused on jump roping to realize, but she told me my ankle bent to a 90 degree angle. It was because of that shock that I didn't feel the pain until I took my shoe off at home, which was excruciating. The reason it takes so long to heal is because the ligament will take a long time to stengthen so that it does not reinjure and worsen. Would you require a doctors note to prove my honesty?I love boxing and the fact that I pushed myself as hard as I did every day should be a testiment to the severity of my injury, if nothing else.I would continue if I were able. Besides all of this, the gym was over crowded and we should never have been put into the ring to jump rope. The floor was unstable and the mat you had us jump on was what I actually tripped on.Before this, I did not have my wraps.I had actually forgotten that you said we would not be able to workout if we did not have them until my sister reminded me when I got home.Even though I didn't have cash on me, you could have let me pay the next day or told me not to work out. Please know that this is not a threat and that I forgive what happened.I am simply asking you to do the right thing. Thank you, Adrienne XXXXX Greg's email: Hi Adrienne, I am sorry you feel the need to send me such a negative and insulting email.Do you think you're emailing the corporate headquarters of Gold's Gym?You're sending this email to a guy who runs a small boxing gym.I don't remember having any arguments with you.I surely don't remember ever trying to do you wrong in any way. When you were in the gym I don't remember us ever having any problems. We did not treat you good?We did not give you good instruction? We forced you to sign a long term contract? We did a hard sale on you and talked you into a membership you didn't really want?I don't even understand your complaint about handwraps.I don't know what you're talking about. You didn't have handwraps with you? This was my fault? This caused you a problem?I should have let you pay the next day?For what?I don't know what you're talking about. You were jumping rope in the boxing ring. The ring is competition boxing ring padding covered by a canvas. If people can box on it why would it be dangerous for jumping rope?It is different than the hard floor but why should I consider it dangerous? Many things in the boxing gym could be considered dangerous. For instance when people are punching at each other there is much potential for injury.I am sorry that you sprained your ankle.I hope you heal quickly. Our gym policy is "no refunds."It is clearly written on the paperwork.

Don't know what the negative review is about... (probably someone from another gym) But this place is great! If you want to go to an "actual" boxing gym, this is the place for you. The gym itself is like something straight out of a rocky movie, and the head coach is very experienced and has trained quite a few champion pro boxers. You'll get pushed to have a great workout, and you'll learn how to defend yourself, Win/Win.
