Good location. Kinda of an odd spot & the turn to get into the parking isn't marked by any clear signs. So youre definitely going to miss it your first time coming.
Also, the gym has horrible cell service, at least for myself (T-mobile), so hopefully, you have a Playlist saved or the wifi is working properly.
All in all its a good spot & it's less crowded than the Agoura Hills location, no doubt.
10/10 on the rizzler scale

Updated review: had to add in update and drop a star. Towels are only available certain times, when they can get them washed. There are towels on display but turns out those are for display only and not for member use. Nice.

Nice gym. Has a serious ant problem.
You can wait in line 10 minutes to check in at opening times. In line on a Saturday morning and slowly burning time.

I’ve been a member for a few years and the gym itself is nice. However the lady who works the front desk in the mornings has been consistently rude and had no idea about AAA active and fit membership and said she couldn’t help me sign up recently when I switched over. I had to be helped by a different member later. Very annoying.

Newbury Park LA Fitness truly stands out as a 5-star gym, thanks to Candace. She is exceptional in every way. As someone who is an enthusiast and a dedicated gym-goer for decades, I've experienced many fitness centers, including numerous LA Fitness locations across North America. Out of all of them, Candace's level of service is unparalleled. She has me checked in before I even step through the doors, with two towels waiting for me at the front counter—a small but thoughtful detail that sets her apart.
Her attention to detail, warm demeanor, and proactive approach demonstrate not only her commitment to her work but also her genuine enjoyment of what she does. It's rare to find someone so dedicated and engaged in ensuring that members feel welcomed and valued from the moment they arrive. Candace’s exceptional service is a key reason why this location feels like more than just a gym; it feels like a community.

While the facility is very nice, I was disappointed as last Sunday not even a single shower had body wash. We are paying for a service, but this management is neglecting to ensure that the showers have the required personal care items. Hopefully, the management can correct this neglect.

They keep it clean, love the customer service, specially Donovan, great attitude . My only disappointment it's that most of the elliptical machines are due for service. They work but need to be re adjusted.

Clean gym with plenty of equipment. I love that they have a good amount of cardio machines.
I bought some personal training sessions here. They have a high turnover rate for the trainers. I literally had 3 different trainers before ending up with Kathy.
Honestly I'm glad because she is amazingly knowledgeable and makes sure that I have good form.
She explains the workouts in an easy way.
I have only had 4 sessions with her so far but already I am seeing and feeling the difference.
She is the most dependable trainer there.

I tried to do a guest pass here with 2 other people. We came in 2 times to sign up for the pass and spoke to people at the desk who insisted they either didn’t know or couldn’t help us. Finally on the third time going in we were able to sign up for our guest passes and (gave ourselves) a tour of the building & planned to come workout the following day. The next day we received a voicemail telling us our passes were not set up correctly and we needed to come in to correct it. Upon sitting at a desk with the (manager?) named daisy she informed us that guests under the age of 18 need to have a parent signature even though we had explicitly asked the day before if this was needed & being told any adult could sign for me. We were forced to leave the gym and find somewhere else to workout. STILL determined to try out the gym I returned with my mom the next day to finalize my pass. We were sat waiting for 20 minutes while Daisy was on a phone call and couldn’t help us. The front desk still insisted they didn’t know how to provide the waiver. After 20 minutes of waiting we ran out of time we could spend waiting around and left. How many chances must your customers TRY to give you business before you work with them? For us it was 5 times before we felt forced to give up for lack of care from the staff here. This seems like a nice facility with very poorly trained customer service staff.

Nice clean gym, friendly staff, and spacious. Would rate it a five if the gym had an open space for stretching, resistance training, and core workouts. Only saw small area w ground pads up against a wall next to mirrors.

It was the best cycling class I've ever attended. Amy, the trainer, was perfect!? Everyone loved it; we wish we could have her more often.I love the Pilates class too. Sophia, the trainer, is so nice and caring. However, I wish they would open the original Pilates class. They have a couple of unused rooms which is a waste. Manager Ben was always very helpful. And also, I wish the kids' club wouldn't close in the afternoon because sometimes you need to go at that time.
