Walk ins are welcome but that means NOTHING Urgent. First visit with Insurance was 6 hours. Do not call them, as they Do Not answer calls. The 2nd try is 2 plus hours. Not worth going! There will not be a 3rd time. So much for a neighbourhood service. Or as an alternative!

Very under staffed and the care provided is subpar. Wasted over 2 hours in the lobby for an x-ray and 3 minutes with the provider. Apparently the x-ray needs to be read by a radiologist and she never gave an indication that I would actually get the results. Gave no treatment options other than saying don’t use the arm till it goes away.’ You could find this ‘care’ online for free within a few minutes. I will never visit this place again.

An Update: You have streamlined the admission process so that the wait is minimal. I also had the opportunity to interact with the on-call physician as well as get the COVID swab test. Altogether a well-handled visit.
The Newbury Park location is part of this chain of urgent care facilities, and if it's any indication, the company runs it efficiently, especially when it comes to processing patients for COVID testing. There are lines every day, but the staff manages to jockey the testing with the assorted injuries and illnesses that normally show up. Before COVID, I was there for a few minor mishaps, and the on-call doctors were excellent. During COVID, the typical wait for testing is about an hour. You have to go through an online registration drill every time, including several image uploads (a pain) but the results portal is relatively easy to navigate and the PCR results are usually posted within 72 hours. This is as good an urgent care facility as you will find locally.
08/22/2021: Another visit for a routine COVID test using the Virutal Line feature. It worked well, although anticipate 4-6 hour waits during this recent uptick in cases. Once inside, things proceeded quickly and efficiently. I would say Exer is probably the best place locally to go through this necessary drill in the middle of ongoing and unfortunate circumstances.
01/11/2022: I had a bad cold so I visited the facility. My care with Dr. Gillis was efficient, courteous and professional. Got another PCR test as a precaution. However, Exer needs to bullet proof its Virtual Line web page. It’s buggy.
01/31/2022: Very smooth online sign-up. My experience with Exer has been quite good, especially during COVID.
12/03/2022: If you get there early, you will be seen quickly. It was a well handled visit. The doctor listened and took the appropriate action. Exer is my go-to choice in urgent care.
07/31/2024: Prompt, efficient and capable. Exer handled things well. For many ailments and injuries, Exer is a good alternative to the ER.

5 stars for sure! My background in healthcare for over 40 years definitely qualifies my opinion. This urgent care facility is by far the best care I have seen delivered in a long time. After calling many of my usual go to urgent cares and after using them for several years I have found disappointment in the care and the quality of care being delivered. What I believe makes this one stand out is the extremely professional, kind, caring, knowledgeable staff that greats you from the start such as Martha C.
Then we have an extremely knowledgeable medical director Dr Gillis. But one of the best parts is the genuine, knowledgeable, professional care with amazing follow through and follow up from Dr Eisner.
I have used many of the EXER urgent cares in the surrounding communities and they do stand out for sure as being a better system then most. That being said this one stood out for sure. You can find these doctors rotating through many of their locations.
This health care facility is the run by more then qualified upper management. The medical director of the EXER teams is outstanding for sure and it shows in the product he delivers every time.

During my visit with family I found the need for a quick medical visit. Dr. Patricia Gillis was quick and took care of my needs. The nurse who initially took care of me was very nice and had a very calm demeanor. Very happy with this medical facility and I wish they were in Texas.

Took my wife here: We walked in and the receptionist directed us to a QR to register. As were were working through the registration one part of the app wasn't responding. We went back to the counter and the receptionist was gone. Some else came from the back and said they didn't know anything about the app, and that they couldn't assist us until it was completed. The receptionist would be back in an hour and to just come back then for assistance. We found different urgent care company that took her right in. (For them, an online based registration was optional, but they did it manually in under five minutes.)

Exer Urgent Care was absolutely fantastic!
The front desk person was helpful, courteous and went above and beyond to get us set up for our appointment. It was refreshing compare to so many places where the front desk people barely acknowledge you when you show up.
Dr. Gillis was attentive and took the time to listen and consider our health issue. Her follow up to my daughter's pneumonia and the administering of medication was above and beyond my expectations. She was thorough during the visit and took proactive measures to ensure a correct diagnosis. I wish Dr. Gillis was our primary physician because I can't remember when I last met with a doctor this attentive and caring. Thank you!!!
