I was at the checkout, an Asian woman jumped in front of me, pushed my items back and told the cashier she was in a hurry and to take her ahead of me. I was calm, expecting the cashier to do her job and to inform the woman that she would have to get in line behind me. But no!!! She tells me in English to wait. ( I've taught Mandarin students before, I knew everything they were saying before she switched languages. I was shopping in an Asian grocery store - why would she just assume that I couldn't understand them??!!) The customer, or the employee, could have asked if that awful woman could go in front of me. These women embarrassed their families, obviously not raised properly. Rude and unladylike. Go to this store only if you're desperate for Asian market goods and you're okay with being treated horribly. They discriminate here. They serve up prejudice with their products.

I had tried Thai iced tea concentrate from Costco and loved it. Lions carried Thai tea leaves!! Tea from scratch is easy and delicious! They have a good selection of Asian foods!

The store is organized. Vegetable are little more expensive than other Asian grocery stores. Customer service is good. Wish they keep more variety of live fishes

Attention! DO NOT SHOP AT THIS PLACE ! They steal customers' $ by double charged one item on purpose! This was not the first time happened to me. The first time was one year ago near lunar New year, I bought lots of food then found out a couple days later that the cashier extra charged me one item which cost me 10 dollars more. It's new year so no time to argue with them. This time, I found the cashier extra charged me a pack of dried noodle $5.69 when I arrived home. WTF !!! This purchase was for my daughter to bring back to school in SF. She only have one pack of dried noodle and she only grabbed one pack from the store shelf. Lion Supermarket : proof me wrong to check your camera !! Or return the money to my credit card. Or I will file a complain.

My mother got yelled at in front of other customers 3 years ago. We decided to go again and the cashier yelled at us again for not hurrying to pay up while we were bagging our own groceries. It was nice for other customers who stood up for us. We never had these things happen to us for shopping at lions for 35 years.

This market is along the way home for me 2 days a week that I must commute from Sunnyvale to Fremont to show my face in the office so it is only sensible that I stop in to pick up needed groceries before hopping on the 880. For those looking for ingredients to make dishes for that Southeast Asian pallette then this market is it. I come in here and I hear Viet and Canto spoken - Canto with the Viet accent. When I am at Ranch 99 i hear mainly Mandarin and some Canto. This market has good prices on a number of stuff that I'd pay more at Ranch 99 and certainly even more at Mega Mart and Hankook (2 of the K-markets I frequently go to in Sunnyvale). Another plus with coming here is the plaza has some good places to eat too - Viet, Thai, Korean, HK Style cafe, Malay, Dim Sum takeaway and Chinese BBQ deli.

This place has the worst customer service out of all of the Asian supermarkets I've been to. I was walking around looking for hot pot propane and had passed by the seafood section. I saw that crabs were on sale so I immediately texted my husband to ask if he wanted some for dinner. A few minutes later, I went and stood in front of the seafood counter (directly in front of the scale) and patiently waited for my turn. There were 2 employees behind the seafood counter and no one acknowledged me or even looked at me. There was only 1 customer (besides me) at that time. After that customer had received her items, the employee that was helping her, walked to the back counter and pretended that he didn't see me. Then another employee walked by and I wanted to flag him down but he walked to the side to help another customer that just showed up. I was getting very aggravated at that moment but I still stood there and patiently waited. After he was done with that customer, he finally looked at me and asked what I wanted. I told him that I wanted 2 crabs and he gave me 2 from a tank that had no water in it. I didn't want to deal with them anymore so I just took the crabs and left. The cashiers at this place never says "hi" or even smiles when you say "hello" to them. I usually shop at 99 Ranch but they didn't have certain items that Lion has; otherwise, I would never come here.

My go-to supermarket for buying ingredients for Vietnamese recipes. They have most things that I need here, but some notable things that they don't have are quail eggs and rau ram (Vietnamese coriander). Go to Marina Grocery if you're on the hunt for more exclusive Asian ingredients. Staff in the fish department are very friendly and efficient at cutting and cleaning fish- something that I am too squeamish to do myself.

I stopped by to pick up some unique Asian groceries since I was in the area. It has most of the Asian brands that you can't find in a normal US supermarket, but the selection is smaller compare to other Asian supermarket chains in the area. The floor seems dirty and the smell is pretty strong. The clerk was a bit cold and didn't help me put my groceries into bags at all during check out.I will be hesitant to return.

This recommendation. The market sells not-fresh food, expired food, I think young guy vietnamese ,need to training butchers against events he working long time but he don’t have experience service or polite customer. He don't care about waiting customers, when customers ask to buy meat, it has a disapproving attitude I buy food not free . I don't come back, and I advise my friends and relatives not to go to this market anymore.
