I came to CrossFit of Fremont almost after 10yrs of no exercise and feeling pretty low in confidence in my fitness level. I used to be fairly athletic both in my childhood as well as up until my mid 20s and I felt like I have lost it forever. I met Joewel and the coaches in CFOF slowly got me into the rhythm with bootstrapping sessions where I learnt the basics of the CrossFit exercises and the forms. Then after some regular attendance over a few months I am happy to note that I have regained confidence with my fitness level. Just to give some examples of where I was before and after a few months - I have learnt how to manage my heart rate during intense workout. I have learnt new athletic skills like rope climbing and handstand etc. I couldn’t do even single pullup at the beginning. I could do several in a row now. I still have a long way to go in fitness but it’s a good checkpoint to reflect on the progress thus far. More about CFOF - super friendly coaches and athletes. Very willing to help us on our goals. Timings are great and flexible, busy folks can suit their schedule. Saturdays are fun and there are good amount social activities happening around the gym. I highly recommend this place if you feel as I felt a few months ago.

Last summer I slipped and fell, this resulted in a fracture to my ankle. After the cast was removed my medical provider provided a list of exercises to do at home.Unfortunately this routine did not offer substantial results. I felt unsupported and unsure that I could achieve mobility results on my own.I ran into a friend who referred me to physical therapist Joewel Pascual from IKALA.The 1 on 1 secessions with Joewel where 100% hands on. He customized the visits to include massage,stretching,and strength training.In a few short months I regained the mobility to continue with my activities prior to the injury. I am overjoyed to be able to enjoy my Yoga practice once again.Thank you IKALAAngela Parra

CrossFit of fremont is the place to be if you are looking at achieving your fitness goalsAll the coaches here are great at checking your form so that you are able to push yourself while also avoid any injuries.Joewel was also super helpful with multiple 1-1 sessions to help me heal my shoulder injury I had while running a spartan race.I’ll definitely recommend CoF to anyone looking to level up in their fitness journey.

It’s an amazing gym with a lot of friendly people. I would continue to go to this gym, but due to personal reason I have to go on a hiatus. Overall, it’s an amazing place.

I have seen Joewel several times over the past couple of years for physical therapy and proper exercise form. He has helped old injuries heal and has taught me how to stop re-injuring myself through improper form while strength training. His guidance has been priceless. I would not be able to workout at my current levels without his tutelage. Thanks Joewel!

Joewel and his crew are great individuals committed to improving their clients well being. I joined with many physical limitations. In a few months, I gained strength and flexibility.I really regret leaving the Ikala family. They’ve helped improve my form with their keen feedback, and by doing so I’ve experienced better mobility.I’ve never seen more people having fun, engaging and encouraging each other in the gym before!the good vibes are truly here at CoF. I’ve been a member at CrossFit of Fremont for a year and it has been a wonderful experience so far. Every WOD pushes your limit and work your entire body. The coaches are very knowledgeable, fun, friendly, and very down to earth. They push, encourage, and motivate you to improve at every workout. In the beginning, I could not do any rope climb but now I am able to complete the challenge of completing the weekly 15 rope climb. In addition, I enjoy the kipping pull-ups and toes to bar as these workouts help with doing muscle-up. COF recently had their second annual CrossFit competition called Ikala Game where you participated in a fun competition with other members, and it was an enjoyable experience for all. I highly recommend checking out CrossFit of Fremont to get a good workout!

Love the classes here! Joewel the owner is awesome and Brandon is one of the best instructors. He explains things very clearly, he’s personable, and he’s very helpful in fixing little things about my movements even in big classes.Everybody here is friendly. It’s a good place to get in shape and healthy whether you scale back significantly on the workouts or you go hard, the workouts are definitely as intense as you want them to be. Which means that even if you think you’re a strong athlete, the workouts can still be very challenging.

It has been six months since I've started CrossFit. I was very nervous to start and quite doubted my ability to do CrossFit style of workouts. I just wanted to give it a try. The main reason for me to continue this is the kind of attention given to everyone, whether you're a beginner or at an advanced level. The coaches here are very helpful and make sure you do the workouts correctly and safely. Even in a larger session, there's personalized attention on every individual to make sure the workouts are performed correctly. They help us to understand and work on our limitations and also push and encourage us in certain areas.Another main reason is that the coaches here allow us to progress at our own pace and provide feedback on how we can work our way to advanced moves. This makes the environment very welcoming, especially to people that are beginners like me.Overall I'm extremely satisfied with the gym and the coaches here and I'd definitely highly recommend this gym to anyone who wants to do CrossFit.

I had such a great time competing in my first DEKA mile at CoF! The team there was so warm and supportive, and the course was really efficiently laid out. Definitely looking forward to making more friends and competing in the next one!

Great gym! I did CrossFit many years ago in the south bay and got back into it here. Now 10 years older, I need to approach my workouts a little more carefully to avoid injury. I find the coaches are mindful of that but not afraid to push me to do better either. Facilities are always clean and there is a good amount of space for everybody even with larger classes - I feel I can work out safely here. Overall I would highly recommend!

Ikala is a wonderful place to workout. I got 5 intro sessions with Brandon before I began regular classes. He was friendly, knowledgeable and very motivating. There is a physiotherapist available for all members. Sessions are full of energy and lots of participation. I recommend this place.
