Bring Back the Best Salon in town! Great hair dressers, great hair styles \\u0026 cuts. Very professional stylist's for both male \\u0026/or female. I was a client for years. Although some of the best have moved on, I would love to see the place come back. A new crew, but I would definitely give it a shot.

Stray Cuts is my treat to myself to which I look most forward about every 6 weeks! I drive from Yuba City to Nevada City which is my getaway day, lovely hour drive into the foothills of the Sierras which I have enjoyed already about 10 years! The building itself has so much character, being beautifully renovated from its original mountain cabin existence, and has become a welcoming ambiance as a salon. Being very popular, it’s best to make your appointment early!

I've been coming to Stray Cuts for several months, and my experiences have always been wonderful! Rachel is a unique combination of artist and therapist - talented and creative when it comes to my color and very patient and understanding when it comes to my ever changing hair needs. Super accommodating in fitting me in when she can, which is no easy feat when it comes to her busy schedule. I highly recommend - you will be so happy you scheduled with her!

I’ve been going to Rachel for years. She is always open, attentive and ensures she hears and creates what you want. I’m ecstatic that she is now the owner of this salon!! She is always attending seminars and workshops to keep educated with her art and embodies her passion for what she does. I can’t recommend her enough to anyone who wants to consistently be pleased with a beautiful job each and every time. If you want to love your hair put it in her hands. ❤️

I was so excited to return to Stray Cuts to see Rachel (I used to see her here MANY years ago). She's worked diligently to provide a welcoming atmosphere from the beverages available to the upbeat music. I love that she listens to my requests, let's me know what will work best for my hair, and is more than accommodating to get me in with my crazy schedule. I will continue to drive over 45 minutes each way for the education, passion and creativity Rachel brings to her career as a stylist!

I’m am fairly new to the area so finding a hair dresser that hears you and can see your vision can be difficult. Rachel is the third beautician I’ve tried after multiple failed attempts with others. After the first visit with her she had done more of what I wanted then the previous one had done in 5... and for far less $. She’s not cheap, she’s reasonable!! I am so glad my coworker referred me to her, so glad in fact, I drive nearly 1.5 hours for my appointments.

Rachel has been my stylist since shortly after I moved to the area 3 years ago. I enjoy my time in the chair with her and have always been pleased with her work. I’m thrilled to see her as the new owner of Stray Cuts!

I’ve been going to Rachel for over 15 years and she has never disappointed. I have frizzy, thick hair that can be very unmanageable but she always suggests the best products for my hair type. I have followed her full circle starting at Stray cuts and now the owner. I wouldn’t consider going elsewhere.

I have had some pretty bad experiences with different hair dresser and salons in the area. Whether it be forgetting my appointment, leaving me laying in the sink while someone takes two walk ins.. turning my hair green! ETC. I was driving all the way to auburn to get my hair done till my friend moved away. LUCKILY I just so happened to stumble upon Rachel on instagram and THANK GOD! she is wonderful with hair and SO knowledgable. Always gives good advices, listens to what I want/need and always guides in the right direction. And she is so professional and funny. I have super thick and insane hair, takes a long time to do and I never feel like she is bothered with it. And I wouldn't trust anyone else to touch this mane. She uses great hair products as well and I never feel like she over charges me for what I have done. Love this place! Definitely a good place to check out, you'll become a lifer <3
